All dynos have some sort of resistance otherwise it would be no different than flooring it on jackstands. However, you have to remember that the resistance accounted for on the dyno is synthetic and therefore as one poster mentioned "80-120 in 3.3 seconds" in a real world circumstance would require more time. A dyno is almost like testing a car in a perfect scenario. Not discounting that this car is slow, merely sticking it to kids who don't know simple physics.
@sakimano We struggled with traction at any sort of performance meet last year. The car is now running closer to 750ps on smaller turbo's to give a more progressive power delivery the owner can try again.

The correct term is Air resistance, which is the force that pushes against an object while travelling. For example, air resistance constantly pushes against a car whilst it is moving. This is because a car has to 'split' the air to travel through it.
In this case, 3.3 seconds is not a valid time because the car is on a dyno and there is no resistance against the car besides on the friction of the roller.

@adcuz Anytime a vehicle ( Especially a boosted car ) Is on the dyno fans are placed in front of it to force air through the intercooler this reducing the air temperature of the air being fed into the engine. That is how an intercooler works. Now think about it. If the car is sitting stationary there is no way for air to be fed into the intercooler . Like marksinfield said it is to simulate the air the car would experience while in motion

That's why people use a dyno to measure HP/TQ, because there's a consistent resistance against your car. Whereas real world can vary depending on temperature, and wind resistance as you pick up speed.
@WillTam08 There is resistance, if there were none it would be bouncing off the rev limiter. It's called "loaded testing" and gives a more realistic idea of the car's performance.
