Excellent, I did upgrade from 1GB to 2GB using Crucial Ram (new) and > power up screen says The Last Attept to restart the system from its previous location failed.Attempt to restart again? gives 2 options (1delete resoration and proceed to restart) #2 Continue with System restart I did #2 and it keeps coming back to same screen(B&W) even put original ram in ???

i have the same model of netbook and when it works a while it gets unusual hot.I have installed  freeware app that measure system temperature and it shows the core temp 64 to 66 celzius ,while the HD goes around 49 Celzius.First of all are those normal temperatures and second ,what should cause this overheat ?

watched this to see why my laptop wouldnt turn on. the port the power button wire plugs into ripped off the mobo. I don't know how to solder. A new mobo costs dollars less than the laptop new. warranty is expired...here's what really grinds my gears america: I sent this back before because the bottom of the case was cracked. either they screwed up the port when they worked on it or, they probably just put my drive in a refurb thats been unplugged/plugged a few times

Thanks man - just installed 2GB into a Mini 1012 - it actually makes hell of a difference making it more snappy. Now just have to wait for the replacement screen to arrive (current one has bad crack)

im waiting on someone to bring this model to me as im buying from someone on cl...i returned my lenovo ideapad z565 so can get something i can use on daily baisis without having to charge after 2-4 hrs...for my needs this comes in handy and i can connect to my flat if want to play a movie or something..only thing i dont like tho is only one ram slot but i guess i can do search for a 2gb ddr2 stick..got a 500gb hdd ready for me to replace the small one with hehe :D

@westology Manuals are definitley harder than videos, to begin with, you can see the procedure in video format instead of text and/or pictures, imagine a manual that says to bend a part. lift the lid. *all of a sudden the object turns purple* find the button (you can't find the button) remove the screw (WHAT SCREW!?)

I upgraded memory and turned on power and screen is black. What might I have done wrong? I checked the connection cord for the keyboard and also made sure the memory stick was secure. What else could it be?

doesnt matter were u buy them, they need to be SO-DIMM Rams and depends if it s a DDR2 or a DDR3 and later check the support speed usually for dell if its DDR2 then it will b 800 but you can use the service tag in support at dell's website
