tbh, you're probably the baddest ass in the paintball game, i mean, when thye look at you, they don't have SHYT!!! people's masks will fog now and then, but all you need to do is change the filters =P
Google is a good start. They are expensive. I am lucky that this one was given to me by work. It is not able to be used by anyone else and I no longer needed it.
The rating is an important factor. You see in the video where it scrolls the ANSI rating (article Z87.1, I think) You really have to look for lenses that are rated for this type of impact.
no... people cannot understand you more than 3 feet away during games.... that is why I have modified it with comms built into the nose cup and it now also has ear guards where I've placed the earpiece. It suffices to say that I play milsim and scenario paintball, so comms are a must either way. 3M does make masks for the military that have built in speech diaphragms and options to attach voice amplifiers, but the 3M Millennium runs about $300.
I think maybe you are getting the MSA Millennium mixed up with the MCU-2 and the M40 masks, the Millennium is a civilian version of a U.S Navy MCU-2 mask. However there is also a less expensive alternative to the Millennium mask, the MSA Advantage 1000 is almost identical except that it doesn't have the drinking tube or the threaded mounts for the 40mm NATO canister, either way you would also need the hard plastic external shield for paint ball. Check a certain auction site for pricing.
Sorry for the 3M flub.... MSA Millennium CBRN is a modified version of the MCU-2. Both are made by MSA. I think the continuous 3M flub I'm making stems from the MICH.... which is made by 3M.
Aqueous Ammonia is created by "bubbling" ammonia into water. 100% refers to the maximum saturation that water can hold. the stuff you buy at Walmart is usually only about 5 to 25% saturation.
The fumes (ammonia gassing out) that are given off from this solution have crippling effects. Direct inhalation of it can result in hospitalization and/or death.
Yeah, and it does look pretty kickass for paintball, but I'd say the only problem with using this mask is it's gonna hurt like a biatch to get hit in the side of the head where a regulation paintball mask would normally cover...
you right.... an ear shots hurts like hell... but I started playing this game in stand-alone goggles many years ago , and this is a vast improvement over that. I have considered purchasing a mich style helmet (to cover ears) and and currently wear a tac training helmet to cut down on temple shots( no ears though)
They are 3M Full Facepiece Respirator Model 6700. They sell for about 100 dollars.
