And about Shin, I remember making jokes about his fiery temper whenever he occasionally snaped at someone. I always thought it'd be funny if he could let out a big roar like a lion in one or two scenes.
Ah, well. It's odd. In the Manga and 2004 series, Shin was able to hold on to his humanity for the entire time. I never really understood why the OVA ended the way it did. Or why they offed Mutsugi.
That's cool. The only reason for that joke I made was for humor. But most of the times it just doesn't work. And yeah. In the 2004 series, Shin seemed a little more calm and mature, though still a bit anti-social. Mick on the other hand was kind of an ass sometimes judging by the way he treated Mutsugi (or Shinjou) half of the time.
Actually, I like the snarl joke. It's easily the second best joke in the OVA. The ramen noodles being the first.
In the 2004 Shinjou also had elements of Charlie in his character, so he was a little...aloof, I guess. Haha. In terms of semantics, the only character who's the same in all 3 versions is Saki.
Yeah. Saki apparently was the only one who had remained pretty much the same. He doesn't care how many men he loses as long as the job gets done around Area 88. Though I find it odd how Mick has a cooler personality in the 80s anime movies while he's almost a complete ass in the 2004 series. And here's another crazy thought that came to mind, if Shin ever roared like a lion, they'd probably consider using him for the MGM logo or something.
Haha! Yes! I mean, he already has the insane mane of hair. Might as well make use of it.
Back to Saki, in the Manga, he has Hoover and Roundell, who keep spirits and morale up. Hoover isn't in the OVA or 2004 Series, so, it's kinda weird. In fairness, Saki gets much more development in the Manga...along with every other character. Mutsugi is great example. He's also blonde for some reason.

0:25; Notice how Shin lowers his eyebrow in suspicion upon meeting Charlie. Maybe Shin should have snarled at the guy.

That would be a great way to say "Welcome to Area 88." The Shin Snarl.
Also..is Hoover in this version?

Hoover? I'm not sure.
