  • You dont know how hard i laughed at 2:08

  • 24-29 fga? are you kidding me? LMFAO

  • people please stop comparing kobe to mj. kobe is great in his own right. hes hands down the second greatest shooting guard of all time

  • @24sykes true

  • waaaahhh 24 of 29 fgm. danggg

  • THE 87-88 SEASON WAS HIS BES T NON CHAMPOINSHIP SEASON. HE WON HIS FIRST MVP ,ALLSTAR GAME MVP ,SCORING TITLE, LED THE LEAGUE IN STEALS AND WON DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MJ played in an era when they actually were played real defense lots of physicality and contact and he was averaging 30+ pts per game with ease imaging what he would be averaging if he was playing in 2days nba im thinking 50+ and imagine how many free throws a game he would be attempting lol

  • This video illustrates how many different moves that Jordan had. Lebron doesn't even have half these moves. Lebron's moves: pull-up jumper and dunk when there is a clear lane to the basket.

  • the music is kind've strange... nice footage tho

  • This guy dominated the game when all the players were at least 3 times better than majority of the players today. There will never be another play in his league period.

  • wow 2:02.... Jordan could palm the ball with ease and used this to his advantage. Kobe Bryant cannot palm the ball easily. Its well known both Kobe and Phil Jackson have pointed out this difference between MJ and Kobe.

  • Barkley don't want it 25-30, that was on Come Fly with Me....

  • another sick video hoops!

  • the best and l bird called him the god of basketball

  • I believe if jordan played today he could average about 37+ a game, and in one of those games he would probably score 83 or more. Than when playoff time hit he would probably average 40. Because we all know MJ took it to another notch up in the playoffs.

  • @jermed23 lol jordan is a very revolutionary player and also a legend but even if he played today he wont be able to score even 15 points... he is much to slow now..

  • @Peter258 Well I meant if he played today as a younger MJ. And if he was the age he is now he probably wouldn't average 15 but he would score it in one or two games.

  • @Peter258

are you crazy he is too slow he wouldn't score 15, yeah let me see in todays NBA you can't breathe on you opponent he was dropping crazy math when there was lots of contact, and his first step to the hole was un-stoppable and with what defense today can any player in the league stop the fade away...get a clue

  • @Peter258 Well the man is aging, it WILL happen to everyone eventually.

Its starting to look like Kobe might be slowing down right about now, but he is still dangerous.

  • @Peter258 If he was a young MJ in todays game.

  • @FacckUtube: So, if that so, y don't u create ur own video? Try to upload one of that vids. like he does. not fackutube, it's facckU. U hate utube? Then hate urself.

  • MJ was so much bigger, stronger, quicker, and more skilled than the guys in the 80's. LOL... Those poor fellas, in the high shorts, didn't have a chance. LOL

  • @Legend1One You obviously didn't want the 80s or 90s: Nique, Ron Harper, Drexler, Larry Nance, Richmond, Dumars, Miller...tons of great competition and players in the 80s and 90s.

  • just compare the achievements what Jordan did vist his website for info . . . . okey... (period)(no comment)

  • Jordan never lost in the finals Kobe already did. Jordan the best player of all time and the bulls the best record of all time 72-10.

  • @promotions11 YEA LOL BUT YA GOTTA THINK PIPPEN WAS AN AMAZING ALL AROUND PLAYER AND HE HAD HORRACE GRANT A TALENTED CENTER AT THE TIME MJ HAS ALWAYS HAD HELP THERE WAS A TIME KOBE DIDNT WELL LAMAR THATS IT IF KOBE HAD PIPPEN THEY WOULD SURPASS THAT RECORD AND WATCH OUT 4 THE 72 AND 10 CAUSE HEAT GONNA BEAT THAT

  • Comment removed

  • As good as Jordan was every single night, he just seemed to raise his level of play (if that's possible) when facing teams that featured another superstar. Magic, Bird, Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Stockton, ect, ect.

  • the fake by jordan at around 2 minutes was nasty

  • They do it all the time, but against select oponents. Kobe did it against Toronto, not the Celtics. Michael averaged 50% from the field for his CAREER. Kobe hasn't.

  • Well kobe averaged 64% field goal shooting when he scored 81 points...michael hasn't.

  • @bigbossman999 OH NO!! he hasnt shot 81 points for a regular season game!! but uk whats funny wen kobe shoots over 30+ shots a game his team record is 46-61 oh and uk wat else kobe has never blocked over 75 shots in season jordan did that 4 times i want kobe to do what jordan has done defensively and then compare them

  • 24/29 fga? madre mia eso es un 90% en tiros. y 54 puntos. jordan = dios.

kobe + james + tmac = michael jordan

  • May be you didn't see Kobe get 81.

  • kobe es un chupon de mierda...¿cuantos tiros hizo para llegar a 81 puntos?...jordan es dios y el chupon no le llega ni a la suela del zapato

  • haha !

that leaner dunk at 20 seconds is the biggest break away jam ever ! Monster !

  • What a move at 4:18. I was laughing watching the defender not have a clue as he got faked out like twice, and then I saw it was Barkley which made it even funnier

  • Michael is the best player of all time, not only because he had the art of athleticism or basketball IQ or shooting or all else he had, he has the lost art of playing efficiently. I haven't seen not one game where even Kobe or LeBron or Wade shoot that many attempts with such an efficiency. Only guard I've seen with a lifetime 50% field goal percentage.

  • right cuz scoring 81 points on 63% fg shooting wouldnt be efficient.

  • Right, and he's also had many 7-30 games also. He's never even shot over 47% in a season. Jordan's career shooting percentage, counting the Wizards, is 50%.

  • Did that second game read 24-29 fgs?! What the f*ck? What shooting guard makes 24-29 fgs?!

  • He actually "started" the game by hitting 21 of his first 23 shots (through about early-mid 4th quarter), and then went 3-6 the rest of the way. Just amazing.

  • dude guys do that all the time. Kobe has had several games like that. One game he was 22-27.

  • I don't want to hear any of that Kobe bullshit. Please. This is a Jordan thread. There's not one aspect of the game of basketball in which Kobe is Jordan's equal, much less his superior. Kobe is a phenomenal player in his own right, and the obsession that Kobe fans have with comparing him to Michael Jordan is a slight to Kobe, lol, believe me, and he knows that. Ask him who the greatest player of all time is, and who he based not just his game, but his body language on.

  • Phil jackson himself said kobe has a better jumpshot and is a better 3 point shooter. Someo f the greatest players of all time have equated the two. I know its hard for MJ fans, especially considering that a few years after he retires someone manages to come along that makes people think he is better than MJ. No one thought that would happen, but its the nature of hte game or ANY game, there will be always be someone better to come along.

  • I go from firsthand vision partner. I don't need to ask Phil Jackson what he thinks about anything, lol. You're old enough to have seen them both so the fact that you would claim that Kobe is better is an indictment of your basketball savvy honestly. Jordan is a far more efficient offensive player, and defenisively, it's not even close. That's not even to mention the lack of defense, fundamentals, and basketball IQ in today's NBA, and the soon emoerging steroid scandal. Watch for it.

  • Do you know that you are a big big loser arguing who is the best basketball player of all time. Ask everybody all over the world who is the greatest of all time and the answer is 99.99% MICHAEL JORDAN! Don't make a fool of yourself and get a life you loser.

  • that s bullshit dude. everybody know that MJ has ever been the greatest player of basketball. he had a bigger influence on the game that kobe will never have... and just let me remember you a lil thing : in all his carriere MJ made an average of 30 pts while kobe just made 25 pts til today =)... then see and compare the trophies (mvp, best defenseur...) and titles in nba and you ll understand what i m talking about ;). have a good day

  • LOL. I've seen plenty of interviews in which Phil was asked to compare the two and not once did he say Kobe had a better jumpshot. Kobe in no way shape or form has a better jumpshot than MJ did. MJ owns Kobe in every way 21 feet and in. Now, I will concede Kobe has a little bit more range. When Kobe is scorching hot, he starts nailing 3's from 30 feet. But that's only when he's out of his mind hot. Give me Jordan's consistency/efficiency any day over that any day of the week.

  • @mt883 Phil said Kobe is more skilled, but Jordan has bigger hands.

  • @Legend1One More "skilled" is a subjective term. Nobody to this day has been able to explain what more "skilled" really means. What? He has a fancier handle? Phil has said on many occasions that Michael is the best player he's ever had and the greatest player to ever play.

  • @Legend1One Phil also called Jordan GOAT and said nobody would ever be better.

  • Comment removed

  • @bigbossman999 @bigbossman999- Phil also said that if Michael played during this era he would average 40 points a game....I agree that there will one day be someone better than MJ, it's just not Kobe...Kobe has had good shooting nights where he scored a shitload of points and shot a good percentage...however these are the exceptions not the rules...more often than not when he scores a ton of points he's not shooting anywhere clost to what MJ shot.

    GWDPREZ07 1 sec ago

  • @GWDPREZ07 or agaisnt the opponets micahel faced.he didnt just drop 59 on some shitty team....he always wanted to go out and prove that he can beat the best.

  • @bigbossman999 kobe is a bettter 3 point shooter, but MJ probably had the best mid -range jumper in the history of the game!

  • Man!! stuff like this needs to be digitally mastered on high definition 1080p & needs to be released on BLU RAY with DTS master audio. I'd buy that in a heartbeat & I dont even have a blu ray player let alone HDTV.

  • There are only 2 players in NBA History who has at least 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists. They are Wilt Chamberlain and Charles Barkley!!!

  • that's cuz the wilt and chuck retired when they were geezers!!

  • there is another bulls sixers game when jordan had only 20 points and charles had 22 points 17 rebounds and 7 assists in a 95 - 90 sixers win.

  • Michael's aura was such that bad boys such as Barkley or Rodman had the utmost respect for him. In Rodman's case if it werent for Michael controling Dennis hot head he would have turned into a liability for the team.

  • Barkley Scored 42 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in this game. Sixers Won.

  • Yeah the Bulls lost the game where Michael scored 52, but they won the 49 pt game.

  • I was at the game in 1988 When MJ scored 49. I was 10 years old and a huge Jordan fan. My father took me to the game and the only two things I can remember about that night at all was, one , how cold it was walking through the parking lot to get to the Spectrum, and two, the dunk Jordan had over Barkley that ended up on the cover of the Philly inquirer the next day. Its the second play in the video. I'll never forget that moment. It meant everything to me...

  • Hoops i find it unbelievable that so many ppl still think MJ didnt have a jumper in his early years. What games are they watchin? Not these im bet.

  • 24-29 shooting lol...so so jordan

this 88' version of jordan is my fav, he was a straight monster

  • wished it had a better qulity but still.. feel the classic

  • in the second feature he shot a ridiculous 82% that is a feat even for the greatest player ever. how do you make 24 shots in a game and only miss 5?

  • Simple. Just be the best post player ever. Jordan did 80% of his damage in nearly every game within 10 feet of the basket. Layups, dunks, little floaters, and flips. He nearly always got to the rim. Mind you there was some horrible defense in these two games but that goes hand in hand with a guy scoring 50+

  • still the sickest guy ever!

  • this video is amazing.

  • that dunk at the 3:36 mark is just so fuckin sick,he is so high he would of easily jumped over the guy right next to him,and his pose in the air is well what can i say, its jordanesque

  • Man i love that close on the head fake at 1:38..He had all the tricks..

  • How i wish Michael Jordan never had halted his plays through 2003, so much moves he could have shown us and records he could have broken.

  • I would love to keep watchin michael as much as anyone, but the fact is with all those injuries he did the right thing. Michael loved the game too much to disrespect it by stayin and playin it deprived of his full capacity. And i believe he could have done amazing things had does injuries not come up (what am i talkin about he still did great things injured!). We miss u Michael

  • Hoops, the first game on this video is another one that I have filmed from the opposite side of the court.

  • 24-29..and u wonder why he is the greatest? he only got 4 FT on this game. he could have easily got to 60 on this one.

  • lmao at 20:seconds in he came in on that dunk like a bat out of hell, barkley didn't know what hit em,that was sort like prince running away from lebron like a bitch on his dunk, but charles didn't have a skirt on like prince did

  • i love this mix man! and the music is awesome! gives me chills hoops!

  • Yeah if you look closely at the stats you can tell that Jordan had a knack for trying to ruin Charles Barkley's chances and putting on a show for Philly.

He also scored his 8000th, 24000th and 28000th at Philadelphia. He purposely dropped three 49 point games against the 76ers in addition to 50+ pt games.

His 35.56 ppg against Philly in the 80s is the highest against any opponent.

  • what a wipeout

  • How he only mis 1 shot Thats crazy!!!

  • Yeah, I think MJ really had a thing to punish Barkley lol. I think the 76ers said something like "we'll hold you under 50", so Jordan hit 50 three or four times against them and then he backed off after he had made his point, and poured in a TON of 49 pt games against the 76ers on purpose to show them that he still had it. Who else but MJ.

  • BTW I greatly enjoy your comments for each video, hoops. Keep up the good work!

  • The music is DJ Shadow - Fixed Income

  • Barkley once said the first time he met MJ was at the try-outs for olympic squad in 1984. After just playing against him one time, Barkley said hes the BEST I have ever seen. music is great too.

  • you're awesome hoops!! btw, what is the music for this vid?

  • sssssiccckkk

  • yeah wille burton scored 53 against the Miami Heat in 1994.

  • was at both these games. the second was a spectrum floor record at the time (i believe willie burton got 53 a couple years later). mj abused the sixers and reached many milestones in philly. i think one of these games may have been his 10k, and he got 15k in philly as well.

  • I believe MJ got his 5k, 10k in '89, 15k in '91 and 23k all at Philly. In early January of 1993, Jordan scored his 20,000th pt at home vs Milwaukee. What is erie about that game is that it came one evening before they played at Philly!

  • mj is too good

  • omg love it. thanks

  • Thanks hoopsencyclopedia and thank you MJ.

    The Best Ever!!!

  • thank you

  • It might be a record for highest FG% in a 50+ point game, yes (it's around 83%). What's crazy is that, like I said above, he started out the game 21 for his first 23. Insane.

  • Jesus 52 pts from 24-29, is it a record?!? You never expect people get a 50 plus with less than 30 feild goal attemps!!! Sick sick sick sick sick :D

  • Glen Rice's 50 pt game may have had a better percentage. I think Rice shot 22 of 26 in his game.

  • Thanks for that, well Rice must have shot more 3 pointers.

  • not to mention his fantastic quickness for a guy that's what.... 6'6''? oh my oh my

  • jordan was so athletic especially in terms of handling the ball and having a crazy hangtime right before shooting in the air... this video is crazy. thanks, hoopsencyclopedia for all these videos! keep them coming more!

  • Awesome vids. I have both games on DVD, the first one filmed from the opposite side of the court (must've aired on a different station), so it was nice to get a different perspective. Jordan started the second game something nuts like 21-23 from the floor before finishing 24-29.

  • Man you have some great Mike videos. But don't you have any better quality DVD versions? These moves deserve DVD quality!
