these lists are kinda stupid, everybody has their opinion who is better and such, like how come nobody talks about ricky watters and a few underrated RB, also its a running back list boys, not everybody list
Barry behind Emmitt? wow... let me put it this way, Emmitt had an amazing line, Barry had garbage line. If you put Barry on the cowboys, he would have done so much better, if you put Emitt on the Lions, we would have never heard his name. Barry had to run for his life to get a 3,4 yard gain
@S0MPPI Bo Jackson played only 4 seasons in the NFL, never had a 1000 yard season and never scored more than 5 TDs in a year. If this was a college RB list he would be on it, but it is obviously an NFL list. He wouldn't even crack the top 100 in the NFL.
there is no way in hell emmett smith was better than any of these dudes it took him forever to break walter paytons record fuck u for even ranking him in the top ten burn in hell for the order u had this in

ok this guys fn nuts, first Barry is @ #4 and NO BO!!!!! Bo Jackson only gained over 900 yards every season he played and only played 8 games a season.
I agree Payton should be #1 but Brown #2 noway. He was good but todays LB's, safeties, and defenses all around are bigger and faster then in Browns day's. Sorry but Franco Harris should be in there and Earl Campbell too. Both were great backs and Harris has the rings to prove it.
this is completely baised video his user name is devinhester123 so he's a chicago fan. Anybody who knows football will tell you that Jim Brown was the greatest running back of all time. Period.
Im a Dickerson fan personally but the list seems spot on... I might put Emmitt at #2. You Barry Sanders lovers are right about Barry being the most electrifying back of all time but if his team needed 2 yards he would either get 5-10 or negative 5... partially due to the run in shoot and his line but also due to his mentality. Payton, Emmitt and Brown were the most dependable backs ever regardless of line. If their teams needed 2 yards they would get 2-5 yards.
Its all about bo jackson and barry sanders cuz sanders had no like at all yet he made something out of nothing his whole carrer and Bo Jackson was just amazing
Put Emitt Smith on the Lion's teams Barry Sanders played for and he wouldn't even be considered top ten. He had the best o-line in football, plus all pro QB and WR's etc etc. Sorry but smith is over rated. PS. PAYTON is #1
I would say replace Ladanian Tomlinson with OJ or Thurman Thomas, and Make it Walter Payton #1 and Barry Sanders #2. OH.... and Barry Sanders is definately above Emmit Smith! Forget about the numbers, Barry was better, and I say this with the most respect and not to take anything from Emmit Smith....THE ALL TIME LEADING RUSHER IN NFL HISTORY! -Bryan
@LosAngelesIzTheBest Bo Jackson is Hypothetical great. He didn't play near long enough to be up their with Barry Sanders, Walter Peyton, Marshall Faulk, Tony Dorsett, Jerome Bettis, Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell. Same thing with Terrell Davis. In my opinion Terrell Davis is better than Bo. Bo didn't rush for 2,000 yards.
@LosAngelesIzTheBest I know that. This is a football video, I said nothing of his baseball achievements, did I? I said he isn't deserving of the top ten in football. He is a top 20 back, but not ten. If he played longer, hell yeah he would be on here. But Bo Jackson's career is filled with a bunch of "ifs". I like Bo, I wish he wouldn't have got hurt, but he did. I wish Barry Sanders hadn't retired. In my opinion Barry is the best of all time, but it might not be yours.
Dickerson will make the top 5 in any respectable list of all-time great backs. I understand why Bo Jackson did not make this list but in his short career, we saw enough to say he is definitely one of the greatest backs of all-time. Bo had speed and power...he ran over Ronnie Lott and drug Brian Bosworth.
LT is over rated as fuck he hasnt done shit in the last few seasons and Curtis martin on there but not Adrian Peterson huh! Barry should be top 3 and were is earl Cambell

and he was only 5'8!...
i could go on and on and on about what abilities he had, but ima stop here
@SurreallTV are you dumb he had no power.. walter payton was the best rb he did everything and he was probably the slowest rb ever to play his 40 was 4.8
Dickerson at 6? I'm guessing you weren't even a glint in your mom's eye when he played the game. He's easily top 4 , with Brown at #1 , and Barry , Sweetness, and Dickerson arguable for the next 3 positions And even though he's a scum bag murderer , O.J still belongs in anyone's top ten before LT.
Possibly the crapiest top ten I've ever seen. Eric Dickerson at 6? Barry Sanders at 4? Jim Brown I think deserves number 1, but the three I was just mentioning are the top three and Walter Payton is with them too in any order would be ok. And what the crap is Tomlinson doing in there, no no no.
Seriously, LaDainian has had like 2 really good seasons. Thats not greatness, thats being really good in 2 seasons. hes overrated and has been unimpressive as of late. and any self respecting top ten list would also include O.J. Simpson, Bo Jackson, and Earl Campbell. and Barry Sanders should be no higher than 3rd. These backs coupled with the other old school backs... thats greatness
@pttbull34 You say L.T. has had only 2 really good seasons and that's not greatness, but then you'd put Bo in the top 10? The guy was a great RB but he didn't even have ONE good season. Unless you consider 950 yards & 4 TDs a good season. L.T. gained over 1,200 yds every one of his first 7 years and has never scored less than 10 TDs in a season. That's about as productive as it gets. What's your idea of a good RB season?
Top Ten That I saw play...in terms of talent and excitement....eff stats...Emmit, Franco, Thurman would routinely go down with arm tackles...Franco might be the most overrated of all time...Steelers won because of their D...never saw JB play, so I can't rate him... 1. Walter Payton 2. Barry Sanders 3. Earl Campbell 4. OJ 5. Eric Dickerson 6. Adrian Peterson 7. Ladanian Thomlinson 8. Marshall Faulk 9. Terrel Davis 10. Bo Jackson
@77thewaz@77thewaz dear casual football fan, The Pro Football hall of fame contains 42 running backs, so just being in the hall of fame does not qualify you in this list. also look at some stats, O.J Simpson is 18th in rushing (Curtis Martin is 4th) and 38th in touchdowns (Curtis Martin is 12th). Thurman Thomas is 14th in rushing and 32nd in touchdowns. That's how. IDIOT!
My #1 Would Be Jim Thorpe, Greatest Athlete Of All Time, And Winner 10 Events At The Decatleon Olymics. And Still No One Evere Got 10 Events Won Till This Day In One Olympics, R.I.P. Jim Thorpe.
honestly my list is very different from most ppl's 1. Walter Payton 2. Marcus Allen 3. Jim Brown 4. Barry Sanders 5. Franco Harris 6. Emmit Smith 7. Larry Csonka 8. Bo Jackson 9. Thurman Thomas 10. Floyd Little other mentions 11-15 O.J. Simpson, Terrel Davis, Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett. No specific order
Curtis martin??? over earl campbell or oj simpson??? martin wasnt even better than oj anderson!!! RB's are a dime a dozen so opinion will differ, so i go by the ones ive seen. Campbell n Simpson belongs in any top 10.
ok let me break this down for you people, #1 its ignorant to have a top 10 list without OJ, sad story here. #2 You can vote best RB all time like this: Best career numbers, or best single season numbers. Where the hell is Terrell Davis???(#3 all time in rushing yards/game) OR Clinton Portis #5 all time in rushing yards. Also, no one mentioned Hershall Walker or Floyd Little Or Edgerrin James #8 all time in rushing yards/game? ????????? people you are all clueless.
@BroncosXNumberX1 yall must of never seen Earl Campbell play this man was a freak of nature he was fast and could take pain as well as give it any time you can take down 3 guys at one time and then these guys are like 300 and 250 pounds u are one og the best on top , also he lead the NFL in rushing his first three years even when walter payton wast playing so do research, weres the buss
@bigdickjohnson83 ur right I never did see Campbell play. He retired before I was born so all I have to go on is highlights and stats. Campbell was a brute force and when I made the list I forgot him for a second but you're right he does deserve a higher place. As far as the "buss" he was good but not top 10.
@snowman11686 the reason y i didnt put emmitt smith is because his entire career he had an all pro offensive line everyone on my list was a powerback or eluded everyone or had no offensive line
Consider these numbers when picking the greatest of all time. 104.3, 5.2, and 0. 104.3 yards per game, the most i9n NFL history. 5.2 yards per carry, the highest average in NFL history. And zero, the number of games Jim Brown missed in his nine year career. He led the NFL in rushing 8 of those years. EIGHT YEARS!
Nobody has ever dominated ANY sport at ANY position as Jim Brown ruled football.
Someday we may see a greater running back than Jim Brown. But not yet.
good list i think me personal would have brown 1 and sanders at 3 ahead of emmitt curtis martin at 10 is a debatable 1 as well i think marcus or thurman thomas ahead of curtis martin very hard to make a list so well done
My opinion 1. Walter payton 2. Jim brown 3. Barry sanders 4. Emmit smith 5. Gale sayers 6. Eric dickerson 7. Marshall faulk 8. Ladainion tomlinson 9. Tony dorsett 10. Franco harris
I often wonder how many yards berry sanders would've had if he would've had an offensive line that was any good. He probably would've shattered every record in the books. He is definately #1 all time.
what are you smoking crack walter, barry or jim brown 1,2 or 3 either or. but the rest of your list is pathetic do you even watch football. Curtis Martin are you serious. LT is good but better than Earl Cambell or Marcus Allen I don't think so. And don't get me started on Emmit
i have to say i can agree with this to a degree..but never barry behind emitt lol..gale cambell shouldve been on there true so should have o.j. but jus a comment but stats count barry never ran under a 1000 yard his whole career in a season walter and bary are hard to shoice heheh for #1
If Emmit Smith had played for the Browns, Lions, Bears etc. he wouldn't have been anywhere near these guys. I love Walter Payton, but Brown (who I don't care for) should probably be #1.
Earl Cambell should have been in the top 10 for sure! I'm a big Cowboys fan, but Emmitt doesn't need to be in front of Barry. Personally I think Barry is the best runnung back of All-Time!
How is earl cambel not on here he is hands down 1 of the most powerful feard backs in nfl history, he rushed for 9777 in just 8yrs 5 time pro bowl and mvp for 3yrs in a row and led the NFL in rushing for 3yrs come on
Could not agree more! Where is Earl Campbell? Gayle Sayers great football player but he was a multi purpose player kick return punt return recieving and running. List need work my opinion.
Boo this video!!! I was liking it until they rated Payton ahead of Brown. you cannot even argue anyone ahead of brown IMO...best ever, hands down, consensus, without question. one of the top 5 athletes of the century...easily.
this is the worst top ten ever none of these backs except walter could hold barrys jock strap in ten years barry had over 15000 yards it took walter and emmitt 17 years to break 17000 yards do the math SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smith should be before Brown and Payton. Marshall Faulk was a better utility player than a RB, he has just average stats. Should not be on this list. Marcus Allen should here somewhere.

Also, no one mentioned Hershall Walker or Floyd Little Or Edgerrin James #8 all time in rushing yards/game? ????????? people you are all clueless.

@BroncosXNumberX1 yall must of never seen Earl Campbell play this man was a freak of nature he was fast and could take pain as well as give it any time you can take down 3 guys at one time and then these guys are like 300 and 250 pounds u are one og the best on top , also he lead the NFL in rushing his first three years even when walter payton wast playing so do research, weres the buss
bigdickjohnson83 1 year ago
@bigdickjohnson83 ur right I never did see Campbell play. He retired before I was born so all I have to go on is highlights and stats. Campbell was a brute force and when I made the list I forgot him for a second but you're right he does deserve a higher place. As far as the "buss" he was good but not top 10.
BroncosXNumberX1 1 year ago

But not yet.

good list hard to say who's best.
10 Red Grange
9 Gayle Sayers (would be higher if had full career)
8 Hugh Mcelhenny
7 Marshall Faulk
6 Eric Dickerson
5OJ Simpson
4Emmit Smith
Now here is where it gets tough! So I have a 3 way tie i guess?
Jim Brown, Barry sanders, Walter Payton

i think you could make a argument for faulk to be in the top 5 just because his receiving ability. He changed the way people approach a running back

detand4 1 year ago
I often wonder how many yards berry sanders would've had if he would've had an offensive line that was any good. He probably would've shattered every record in the books. He is definately #1 all time.

what are you smoking crack walter, barry or jim brown 1,2 or 3 either or. but the rest of your list is pathetic do you even watch football. Curtis Martin are you serious. LT is good but better than Earl Cambell or Marcus Allen I don't think so. And don't get me started on Emmit
MrDogmandave 2 years ago
yea i was gonna say were is earl cambell or the Nigerian nightmare or BO Jackson
zettesman1 1 year ago
i have to say i can agree with this to a degree..but never barry behind emitt lol..gale cambell shouldve been on there true so should have o.j. but jus a comment but stats count barry never ran under a 1000 yard his whole career in a season walter and bary are hard to shoice heheh for #1

larry cszonka shud def be on the list too

If Emmit Smith had played for the Browns, Lions, Bears etc. he wouldn't have been anywhere near these guys. I love Walter Payton, but Brown (who I don't care for) should probably be #1.

Earl Cambell should have been in the top 10 for sure! I'm a big Cowboys fan, but Emmitt doesn't need to be in front of Barry. Personally I think Barry is the best runnung back of All-Time!

Smith should be before Brown and Payton. Marshall Faulk was a better utility player than a RB, he has just average stats. Should not be on this list. Marcus Allen should here somewhere.
