This streak is indicative of the giant Rei whose head fell off and squirted blood from her neck in the movie "End of Evangelion." When you do watch that space scene in Evangelion 2.22 you can ask yourself "how else could that 'blood' have gotten there?" These bitches got their second chance.
I'm 100% sure that this is a remake, nowhere in any of the special features or extras that come with the special editions does it even hint that this is a continuation rather than a remake. I think they may just be making a lot of references to the original series and movies.

It should sit back for just one year and let Viz, Bandai, Geneon, and some of the other anime companies to license new anime and catch up to Funimation.
If they don't, then Funimation would get so successful that the other anime, and perhaps manga, companies would be force to close down because they can't compete with Funimation...

@litleweazel You should watch the series episodes 1-24, then End of Evangelion, which is essentially the real episodes 25-26, then if you liked it, pick up 1.11 and 2.22, which are film remakes. 1.11 is largely the same as the first few episodes, but 2.22 is pretty much completely different. There's also Death and Rebirth, which is a recap of the series attached to the first half of the end of evangelion.

I loved this movie and I love how they're remaking this series! Though I personally think that the LCL ocean has nothing to do with continuing the series. I think it's just fan service.
Here is why. Shinji, Asuka, and all the others were given a second chance to live life after third impact. Everything has reset, but slight changes have ocured in the charcters we all know.
Shinji- more of a man
Asuka- delt with her pain of the loss of her mother
Rei- More open to others
Misato- More of a motherly figure than before
In third impact, durring the tv last two episodes and in end of eva, these were the things they hated about..

@RedAviary It is. I checked with NGE's original creator, and he/she (It was online, you ccan never tell with those Japanese names.) said that The rebuild series is being made to be two things: 1. A diferent interpitation. and 2. The sequel to NGE.
My only complaint about the new Rebuild is how short it is. The original was actually really good up until about episode 16, where it slowly began to fall into nonsensical symbolism. I actually wanted to see Leliel in the Rebuild. But it seems that most of the Angels in Rebuild 2.22 are conglomerations of the original Angels or completely never-before seen Angels.

@lzymxn The Black Eva was the one America decided it no longer wanted after it realized having them around is dangerous. At least in the original series. I think it's roughly the same in this, too, if memory serves.

@fullmetalzombieeater um you can't determine the quality and over all enjoyment of a series/movie based on the gore factor alone, in my opinion evangelion is an okay story. Sure the original anime had plotholes, and told us everything we already know again and again but it was still enjoyable even though the ending was a mindfuck. Overall the movies have done a better job on the series from i've seen so far. so all in all gore does not determine wether it's good or not

All he did was mope and ask people to sympathize with him. In this, he understands he can't just whine to solve his problems so he snaps. It was time to separate the boys from the men and he just happened to tap into that giant reserve of Spiral Energy we all know he has but never used.

Why is Funimation using stock sounds and music in these ads instead of the sound and music from the movie? There are no spoken bits, shouldn't all the nonverbal audio be the same? The movie's music is way more impressive than this.
As with any anime, it wouldn't be complete without schoolgirls in uniform. And speaking of uniforms, I love the way the flight suit goes from safe to sexy at the touch of a button. SUCK! All the air out.
I've never watched this anime though. Only heard of it and saw this video.

@JRM983 Its the original series being redone in 4 movies. The plot has been changed around some and there is a new pilot introduced so far. This is the second movie.
My part time job is at HMV and the store got the shipment last Wednesday , but the policy states that we must wait till all the stores get it and only put it out on shelf on the release date............i would guess that by Friday all the stores had it for sure and were just waiting for the 29th since :(
Weird how in USA the film releases on the 29 of march and some people got it already, but in Canada the thing comes out a week later on April 5 th? Even places like Toronto which is close the boarder....

@ZombehWolf actually, she's not in asuka's eva. if you watch she's in unit03/04 (whichever one in the series goes apeshit ballistic). appears to go ballistic in this one too, along with the added watching of the pilot being corrupted along with the eva.

@fullmetalzombieeater The End of Evangelion movie from 1997 is extremely gory and such (I've only seen clips of it), but this and the other new films are perfectly fine...
Well maybe not quite fine, but not insane to End of Evangelion's extent.

So I shouldn't watch it because it's gory? That may be your opinion but thats not a valid one for others to take. Rather to say, don't watch it if your the feint of heart. Me I've see every Evangelion and the movie already and I'm looking forward to seeing this so gore every now and then isn't a problem for me.
Course I've seen worst than dismemberment...

@fullmetalzombieeater um you can't determine the quality and over all enjoyment of a series/movie based on the gore factor alone, in my opinion evangelion is an okay story. Sure the original anime had plotholes, and told us everything we already know again and again but it was still enjoyable even though the ending was a mindfuck. Overall the movies have done a better job on the series from i've seen so far. so all in all gore does not determine wether it's good or not

@TheHalfNerd The people who hated Shinji in the series. And for valid reasons, he was an annoying, whiny, bratty piss-end who was never proactive in his problems or anything. All he did was mope and ask people to sympathize with him. In this, he understands he can't just whine to solve his problems so he snaps. It was time to separate the boys from the men and he just happened to tap into that giant reserve of Spiral Energy we all know he has but never used.
And that is why people hate Shinji.

CG animation and inbetweens. 0/10 I personally didn't really find the story for EVA all that amazing (a bunch of emo teenagers who can't get the fact that their life sucks being used a method of venting by a depressed alcoholic Japanese dude? yeahno, none for me thanks) but the art and the animation was really what made this anime great for me, and they've ruined it. Also, this is all just my opinion, no need to flame and please don't try to tell me my own personal evaluation of this is wrong.

Why is Funimation using stock sounds and music in these ads instead of the sound and music from the movie? There are no spoken bits, shouldn't all the nonverbal audio be the same? The movie's music is way more impressive than this.

As with any anime, it wouldn't be complete without schoolgirls in uniform. And speaking of uniforms, I love the way the flight suit goes from safe to sexy at the touch of a button. SUCK! All the air out.

@JRM983 Its the original series being redone in 4 movies. The plot has been changed around some and there is a new pilot introduced so far. This is the second movie.

My part time job is at HMV and the store got the shipment last Wednesday , but the policy states that we must wait till all the stores get it and only put it out on shelf on the release date............i would guess that by Friday all the stores had it for sure and were just waiting for the 29th since :(

Weird how in USA the film releases on the 29 of march and some people got it already, but in Canada the thing comes out a week later on April 5 th? Even places like Toronto which is close the boarder....
