I'm well aware of The Allman Brothers and have been for forty years. Theres no doubt about Duane's talent and Greg's youth then, but, Duane is no longer with us R.I.P. There is no reason that I can't enjoy what they are now. Derek and Wayne are both very talented musicians. As far as Greg and energy, I don't have the energy I had back then either, but that doesn't mean I should stop living and enjoying life. The world keeps on turning. If I'm living in the past, I'm not living.
@6gentex I couldn't have said it any better! I also think it should be noted, that after Duane's death Gregg knew he had enormous shoes to fill. There were many that auditioned for the ABB, but Gregg ONLY took the best of the best. And he has done an amazing job! No one has ever left an Allman brothers concert early, because the music wasn't good. Instead, they leave us screaming for MORE.
@6gentex Don't know what all the fuss is about. This is Okay but you guys must not have seen the original ABB with Duane, Dickey and Berry Oakely rather that Warren, Derek and Otiel on the front line. Plus Gregg was younger and had much more energy. To me this was Okay, but weak when you put it up against the original band. Just pull out your copy of Live At Fillmore East and listen to that version and see what I'm taking about. It's on YouTube too but just a picture to look at while you listen.
I love Warren, but Duane had more "swing"He understood the blues a bit better.
