Making sentences, trying to figure out how to say what you normally say from your native tongue to your target language has worked for me in Chinese so far. Will do the same in Korean. Thank you, Hyunwoo!
That was really inspriing, I had no idea that he didn't stay in an English speaking country for me than a week o-o and he was able to learn that well! I definitely agree about what he said in books. A lot of stuff you read, isn't something you would normally use @_@ He's such an amazing teacher with Kyeuongen (sp) noona.
i do the same "imaginary friend/situation" technique when i want to practice my languages - i think it's a great thing to do when you're not surrounded by native speakers because it makes you think about how a problem can be solved by using your limited knowledge. And it's important not to give up if you can't solve your imaginary problem. You have to go on and rephrase, circumscribe everyhing until you think you've reached your goal. ^^
I will go to korea for first time next month and enjoy watching hyunwoo's videos. I've been learning japanese and korean and he really motivates me to continue because sometimes I find it so hard to learn. I can gather words but listening to foreigners speak is so fast and feels like I will never get to that level. Anyway.. thanks for the interview and subscribe to his channel people!!
Chinese and Spanish native accents can be easily faked. Chinese....there are so many dialects that people automatically assume you're a native over the phone unless you say that you aren't one. Spanish is similar only if you speak french or italian. If you speak English, the eng accent is easily picked up.
This is a really motivating video. Its amazing how many polyglots always recommend leaving the textbook and begin making up your own sentences. Something I'm going to start using myself. Moses Mccormick uses the same method in his FLR technique. Leave the textbook and simply play with the language yourself, making up your own sentences or building upon the example sentences the textbooks use.
This video is really a big inspiration for me. Many thanks for uploading it!
I am especially impressed that Hyunwoo makes conscious efforts to form sentences in English using the words or phrases that he has just learned, and I am motivated to do just the same.
After watching this video for the first time about a month ago, I've begun to make sentences in French, which is the language that I am currently focusing on.
Alors? tu vis où en ce moment? au japon? et bon courage pour perfectionner ton français ! fais peut-être des vidéos dans les autres langues que tu connaît, ça peut aider pour la pratique !
Qué interesante ! dondes vives? en Korea ? aprendi el aléman y me gusta mucho, el idonesio no conosco, estoy aprendiendo arabe, russo, japonés y vietnamita ! me gusta tanto !
This was a great interview to do. Hyunwoo Sun is very inspirational. I feel much better about the mistakes I do make when I want to say something that comes natrual to me rather than what is practiced in the books. He is right. Putting yourself into situations where you have to try, even if you don't really have to, always helps, Thanks To all of you. A Fighting for learning Languages *\(^_^)/*
wow for somebody whose never been to america his american accent is really good.

It also helps to be young when learning a new language. The older you get, the harder it becomes to learn a language.

你中文是學繁體子或是簡體子呢?對你們韓國人來說什麼語言比較難學呢?
