  • One of her best song. So deep..... Unfortunitly it could be better with a good video

  • One of her best song. So deep.....

  • Top song and with her daughter Mimi. Mums and daughters unite x

    Hey Hey xxxx

  • indudablemente esta mujer donna lo canta del carajo

  • this version sould have been made into a xmas song. only someone cool like donna would noticed a great YES song and aptly picked it up to cover it.

  • wow her voice is so good live. donna looks so good too..beautiful hair. donna's oldest daughest sings good too. souding this good live there was no excuse for her not to tour in the late 1970s for at least 15-20 cities a year. she only performed in l.a. and vegas back then.

  • I know the little girl is Donna's daughter, and she's doin great until her mum comes out and then she seems to lose all her confidence....It's ok mum I got it lol

  • That's just breathtaking!!!

  • This song should never end .....

  • Original song by Jon and Vangelis

    Friends of Mr. Cairo (1981)

    Good cover!

  • DONNA IS FROM BOSTON,,JUST SAYING

  • Did you know that is her daughter on stage with her.

  • Dona Summer…well deserved recognition as a great singer, she used to be underrated and only recognised for some sexual Madonna like antics.

  • Pre-Madonna. Pre-lip synching. When Donna pulled the mic away from her mouth you could hear the drop out of her voice. THIS is talent! Do not be fooled! I heard this song June 1982 & I'll never forget it.

  • How miraculous that this is here for all to visit....gives me hope for times to come!

  • Love this song,and Donna!!

  • I found a gem!! fair play she does this so good!!

  • This song should be a classic Donna Summer song! Let's all pray for peace! Peace will prevail one day!

  • @cbfall: It is a classic Donna Summer song.

  • @Chrliesangelsman I love the music of Donna Summer... unfortunatly (to all you Donna Summer fans) the original version was written and sung by Jon Anderson of the classic band called "YES".

  • @yocuzz100: no, it is not unfortunate to me bud. I have been knowing that for a long time. Their version, while good, is not what made the song famous. It was Donna's cover that did; particularly Quincy Jone's involvement, along with all the other high profile stars that did back up vocals. But cool that you also were aware that she actually "covered" this song rather than compose it. Good observation. Have a Merry Christmas.

  • @yocuzz100

and also performed by Jon and Papathanassiou aka Vangelis...

  • Excellent description. It is INDEED the precursor to We Are The World! It was the seed of which We Are The World was born........

  • I can't believe how humble she is in her videos. She's so sincere in her performances. This song is special to me. I had a walkman back then with her songs that i listened to when I jogged. I was 25yrs old and this song was the last song that played. When it played, I ran to the fast beat of this song and imagined I was competing against Evelyn Ashford in the Olympics! That's how old I am! lol Never forget Donna Summer! She's a diamond in the rough! Thanks for the memories!

  • Lovely

  • Is that her daughter; the girl that starts the song? She looks like a young version of Rihanna.

  • Isn't she a cute little thing!!

Great vid, didn't know about this fabulous song!

    Thank you, dear Bas!

    Merry, Merry Christmas and

"Peace on Earth to all Good Will Men"

    Minerva from Mexico City

  • Yes, that is Donna's oldest daughter, Mimi.

  • Tot tranen toe bewogen, je zal er maar zitten in die zaal en dan dit.

  • it is sooo great to see this again! i used to watch it over and over again on hbo when i was her daughters age about.. this song still makes me cry! awesome

  • I have the strength to make my way in this dark world radiant.....

  • This will be my first stop when my Time Machine is completed.

  • take me with you haha but after were done with donna we have to catch some whitney performances ok lol

  • check out whitney live singing "Why Does It Hurt So Bad," one of my favorites. Donna and Whitney share so much as gREAT SINGERS.

  • yes...why didin't she take part of WE ARE THE WORLD? she was so popular in that period...

  • ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE SONGS FROM THE 80'S. Donna Summer--CLASSIC. I LOVE 2 LOVE YA BABY!

  • Really nice !!! But don't forget that this is a Jon and Vangelis song :):)

  • What I wonder is why Donna did not sing on WE ARE THE WORLD - odd she was not on it - was she not invited? She could have warranted a solo line, at least!

  • This is my favorite video. You should see her daughter Mimi now, and also her grandchildren.

  • Holy S#!T. I've been waiting for somebody to put that up since Youtube was invented. I've been looking for that concert on video since the mid 80's. I actually heard the live broadcast of that concert back when I was in college, and I never forgot about that song. It has stuck with me since then. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for putting this up.

  • i remember that on tv it was so kewl and mimi touched my heart she is adorable

  • @nappybigz I really LOVE this extended performance. This is such a challenge to perform with an own group of singers in my hometown. This is so full of soul and pleasure!!!

  • Absolutely brilliant !!

  • I remember this on HBO. Man, I miss their concerts.

  • Yes, that is her daughter Mimi

  • how cute is that girl at the beginning! ahhh!! is that her kid or something? must have been so scary getting up like that! fair play to her!
