Hello, great review! I am considering to purchase a TOMTOM car kit for my Ipod touch 2nd generation after my TOMTOM GPS died. Do you know what free (open source) navigation software I can use it with? App store is selling TomTom app for around $40 dollars, but I don't know if it worth to invest in it. I don't want to purchase an extra app if I can download it for free. Thanks.

@wathna: An internet connectin isnt required. Yes you can use it with any other app, since this tomtom carkit just provides you a gps signal.

@theunits3 so it would be impossible to go geo-cashing with it, unless I had some mini usb disposable battery? (GPS is powered by the charger, and not the ipod.) :(
