  • is there a way to make irish cream coffee with out using the BOOZ,,, like making some kind of irish cream syrup that one can put into there coffee,,without the alchol,,,,must be a recipe for irish cream coffee without the alchol in it,,,can one leave that out,,

  • @Dolphindream15 Sorry, but I don't have a recipe for this without alcohol.

  • I want to know how to preserve this product for shelf life? Bailey's claim its a secret but i really doubt it... I know alcohol preserve stuff but there is more to it to get it to last that long even after its open. Any takers?

  • Wow, you just taught me how to make Bailey's, you know everything!

  • Is the egg necessary? Uncooked eggs are salmonella-risk food.

  • @francisvsu Yes, the egg is necessary in this version. If you prefer, you can cook this over low heat until the mixture reaches about 160 degrees F.

  • @francisvsu salmonella is good for you it builds character

  • now that looks great

  • @000jacb Thanks!

  • its been a long while since the last time i viewed your video.

Is it ok if i skip the alcohol? whats the sub if we really dont wanna add them? Wanna make some kiddy friendly version.

    Jason, you rock!

  • @blackmondae Thank you so much! Actually, this requires the alcohol. I don't know a work-around. So sorry!

  • AWESOME! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Irish Cream but I nevert thought I could make my own! Thank you sooooooo much for posting this up!

Erm, mine a quick question? What brand of whisky and brandy should I use? Cheap brands aren't gonna cut it right?

  • @kingofsapi

Hello. Jameson Irish whiskey would be my choice. As far as a Brandy, a good Cognac would be my recommendation.

  • ok thanks!

  • @datboinique1918

    You're welcome!

  • What substitution can be done for the alcohol?

  • @datboinique1918

Hi. Sorry, Irish Cream is an alcohol drink. I do have a good hot chocolate mix video that you can make and chill for a non-alcoholic drink.

  • yes i have one quick qustion instead of using alcohol can u like not put it in and make it a virgin drink with like no alcohol in it just wondering because i am irish and i would like 2 try it but i am only 13 so is their a way u can make it a virgin????

  • @Stephen15269

That might be a question you should ask your parents.

  • Mine came out really thick? Is it supposed to be that way? It's amazing! But I only wish it was more liquidy.

  • @solidiquis1 Yes, it is supposed to be thick and creamy.

  • Heart and liver disease all in one glass, who says the irish arent innovative.

  • @SmilingEyes79

That's It! Well besides the bangers...

  • I did some calculating, and the final product will have about 9% alcohol (assuming the brandy and whisky are 40% alcohol). That's about half the alcohol concentration you get from Bailey's Irish Cream. I recommend adding more booze if you want to get nicely intoxicated.

  • @lemonrind

    Ha haa! Will do!

  • @lemonrind Yeah but did you see how he slugged that huge glass down. Three of those would make you nicely merry... much better than sipping on a teeny glass of Bailey's. You gotta slug the stuff down man, at a fraction of the price.

  • is there a substitute I can use for eggs I am a vegetarian and I do not eat eggs.

  • @abyssa Is there a vegetarian substitute for eggs out there? Maybe a health store might have something you can use. Sorry I can't help more...

  • @ChefTips Here's a recipe I found the other day, 1 cup light cream 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.) 1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey 1 teaspoon instant coffee 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for about 20 seconds. Transfer to a clean bottle with a tightly fitting cap. Store, refrigerated, and shake well before using.
  • @XtcRaver420

    Thanks for sharing! Sounds good!

  • @abyssa

why dont you eat eggs, ?

    veggies dont eat meat,

its all part and parcel of being a veg

  • Thanks Jason, another fab easy to follow recipe x

  • I've been wondering what to do with my irish whiskey. I don't want to drink it just as it is because I don't feel creative, I feel i want to do something more with it

  • @blinder8

Hello. Check out my video "steak sauce."

  • Hi, can i make the irish cream without eggs? Cos i don't like raw eggs thx.

  • its cool drinking the raw eggs? what kind of eggs should i use- is there a substitute?

  • You should be fine. We've never had any problems.

  • I'm going to make this next week.

  • Hope you enjoy it!

  • I might just have to try this on St. Paddy's Day.

  • Hope you enjoy it!

  • When I was stationed in Belfast, in the early 80s this is not the way I made cream out of the Irish LOL.

Any way the method given here by the chef is very new to me, with regards to how I made, Irish Cream in the good old days.

  • @vnck25 we used a big canary to make british cream in the 90's . . . .

  • "When I was stationed in Belfast, in the early 80s this is not the way I made cream out of the Irish LOL."

Um... didn't they kick your sorry ass out? Enjoy the cream.

  • @arenusaura

    Thanks for catching that! =]

  • goog video

  • Wit the water I did not understand that. Because in the description you write 13 / 4 tablespoons water what you mean with that.

    excuse for my bad english.

  • @arenusaura

    You're welcome. Enjoy! =]

  • guys for future ref. its either failthe meaning hello or slan meaning goodbye.

  • Comment removed

  • @666Ledmaiden failthe means welcome and slan means goodbye. slainte like Jason says means good health but is used as good luck/safe journey etc.

  • Hello ChefTips,

    I have a few questions.

does it have to be refrigerated, and

if not how long would all the ingredients stay mixed without separated from the whiskey.

    Thanks

  • Now you are getting scientific on me... lol.

Honestly, I don't make this enough to know. I have always refrigerated my batches and it has never separated while in the refrigerator. Of course it never stays around long enough... =]

  • Good thing about being irish, Excellent alcholic drinks! :-)

  • Ah yes! Slainte!

  • looks tastt but i would leave the egg out becuz i just dont trust the egg.

  • what about the raw egg you could get sick from that

  • In the recipe, I mention to refrigerate 24 hours. This allows the flavors to meld and helps the alcohol "cook" the egg. You can leave the egg out if you like.

  • Sigh, here in ireland you would be lucky to find something that looks that good apart from drink.lol

  • I'm already on my 3rd batch in a month!! Great for when friends come over. So easy to make and tastes awesome! I think I've passed this recipe to at least 10 people already.

  • Glad you enjoyed the recipe! Thanks for passing it on, and thanks for commenting!

    Cheers,

    Jason

  • That looks like a lot of booze!!! But I'll sacrifice my liver for the sake of a new recipe (I'm pleased you weren't cooking offal!! lol)

  • offal! ha... I won't be doing that!

  • Now that looks nice. I will try it. :-)

  • Enjoy! It's always fun to make your own. Makes a nice homemade gift as well!

    ~ Cheers, Jason

  • Never tried it once and hated it, tried your recipe and it was the best thing EVER!!!!!!!, true Chef

  • So glad you like this! We find that it tastes so much better after at least a day in the refrigerator. The flavors really meld. Thanks again! Jason

  • once you are done do you need to keep it refridgerated or does the alchohol keep it from going bad?

  • I like to keep it in the refrigerator.

  • Found your channel today while looking for my friends movie about a banana. Well, I couldn't find my friend's video, but I found your videos and I LOVE them! I just subscribed!

  • Great! Hope you enjoy our recipes, and always feel free to ask questions or send us requests! Cheers, Jason

  • can you change the eggs for anything?

  • You can try this recipe without them, but I haven't tried it this way. Give it a try if you are opposed to the eggs, and let us know how it works out!

    Cheers, Jason

  • What are the eggs for? I'm afraid of drinking something with raw eggs in it.

  • yeah me too for somereason i feel like cooling the eggs over a dobble boiler or something like if im making chocolate musse*

  • The FDA does NOT recommend consuming unpasteurized raw eggs under any circumstances, but concentrations of alcohol as low as 8 percent are high enough to kill problematic bacteria that may be present. The Irish Whiskey and Brandy in this recipe contains 40 percent alcohol.

  • Wow, that looks amazing. I'm going to have to try this and impress my friends. Thanks!!!!!! You always give me great ideas when I watch your show.

  • Thanks for the comment EphesiaChic. Hope you like the recipe!

  • Thanks for the nice comment!

  • Great stuff mate! :)

  • Thanks so much! Cheers, Jason

  • I can't wait to make this! Is there anything else you can put in it to alter it slightly? I'm not Irish so I wouldn't mind breaking tradition! LOL

Thanks so much for this, I can't wait to see the rest of your videos.

  • How would you like to alter it? You can add some Godiva chocolate liqueur or hazelnut liqueur if you like. Hope you enjoy it! Jason

  • wow, I had no idea that Irish Cream has raw eggs in it. I always thought that it was just milkshake with whiskey/brandy. I totally learn something new everytime I watch you videos.

  • Thanks risquecat! Glad you enjoy the videos. That means a lot to us.

    Cheers! Jason

  • Are there any issues with the eggs? or is it pretty safe making that.

  • Hi, I'm from Argentina, I make something similar for making "Bayleys" but I start with the eggs in a saucepan and heat them to 60ºC, with the milk and cream, and them with they are cold proceed with the recipe...

  • Sounds great! Jason

  • i'm sooooo making this!

  • Hope you like it! We made another batch last night for St. Patrick's Day! Good stuff!

  • could i leave out the alcohol? it looks like it would taste good on its own.

  • If you leave out the alcohol, then I recommend leaving out the raw eggs and make a milk shake. I have a video called "Dates" that shows you how to make a great "alcohol free" milk shake. You may want to try that recipe.

  • Hi, i´m from argentina. I just wanted to ask how much mililitres (ml3) are contained in the cup you use? Thanks

  • One US cup = 236.588238 milliliters

    Hope this helps! Thanks! Jason

  • I love to watch your recipes!

But i am watching from Turkey. And some times it is hard to find every piece on the recipe.

And sometimes it is hard to understand what you are saying :/

Can you write down the list for this recipe if it's possible? Thank you a lot!

  • Hello. Click (more info) at the upper right corner of this page for the ingredient list.

  • r the eggs safe

  • Great question nucca3000!

The FDA does NOT recommend consuming unpasteurized raw eggs under any circumstances, but concentrations of alcohol as low as 8 percent are high enough to kill problematic bacteria that may be present. The Irish Whiskey and Brandy in this recipe contains 40 percent alcohol.

  • I remember reading somewhere that there're eggs out in the market that have been slightly heated so that it's safe to consume when recipes call for raw eggs...

  • It looks delicious, I think it is similar to Baileys.

  • Yes it is!

    Cheers!

  • Wow! That's not on the Body For Life plan...but Free Day is coming up!

  • Jason, I love your video's. Do you have any "Diabetic " friendly recipes. I am pretty good with savory, but am having a hard time finding good dessert recipes for my husband. Can you help, or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks.

  • Mmmmmmm......sounds sooo good! Never knew we could make it at home.

  • Thanks! It's really quite good. Be sure you do refrigerate it overnight, as that is how the good flavor really develops.

    Take care! Jason

  • Will do!

    You take care as well.

    Russ

  • I love Irish Cream, and now I can make my own! Cheers again.

By the way, I love the celtic music in the background.

  • Lets get drunk! My birthday is the 18! lol

  • :D.

  • I love this recipe!

  • Sounds good Jason! I think you would be excellent on Food Network.

  • i MUST try this one, love your vids

  • Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!

  • Hey Jason,

I don't drink very often at all (basically never), but that does seem like a great drink. Nice to know what goes into the stuff we put through ourselves no matter what it is.

    Cheers,

    Dustin

  • Thanks Dustin! We appreciate that you always take the time to say something nice about our videos. You are a great inspiration! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Jason
