is there a way to make irish cream coffee with out using the BOOZ,,, like making some kind of irish cream syrup that one can put into there coffee,,without the alchol,,,,must be a recipe for irish cream coffee without the alchol in it,,,can one leave that out,,
I want to know how to preserve this product for shelf life? Bailey's claim its a secret but i really doubt it... I know alcohol preserve stuff but there is more to it to get it to last that long even after its open. Any takers?
yes i have one quick qustion instead of using alcohol can u like not put it in and make it a virgin drink with like no alcohol in it just wondering because i am irish and i would like 2 try it but i am only 13 so is their a way u can make it a virgin????
I did some calculating, and the final product will have about 9% alcohol (assuming the brandy and whisky are 40% alcohol). That's about half the alcohol concentration you get from Bailey's Irish Cream. I recommend adding more booze if you want to get nicely intoxicated.
@lemonrind Yeah but did you see how he slugged that huge glass down. Three of those would make you nicely merry... much better than sipping on a teeny glass of Bailey's. You gotta slug the stuff down man, at a fraction of the price.
@ChefTips Here's a recipe I found the other day, 1 cup light cream 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.) 1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey 1 teaspoon instant coffee 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for about 20 seconds. Transfer to a clean bottle with a tightly fitting cap. Store, refrigerated, and shake well before using.
I've been wondering what to do with my irish whiskey. I don't want to drink it just as it is because I don't feel creative, I feel i want to do something more with it
Honestly, I don't make this enough to know. I have always refrigerated my batches and it has never separated while in the refrigerator. Of course it never stays around long enough... =]
In the recipe, I mention to refrigerate 24 hours. This allows the flavors to meld and helps the alcohol "cook" the egg. You can leave the egg out if you like.
I'm already on my 3rd batch in a month!! Great for when friends come over. So easy to make and tastes awesome! I think I've passed this recipe to at least 10 people already.
Found your channel today while looking for my friends movie about a banana. Well, I couldn't find my friend's video, but I found your videos and I LOVE them! I just subscribed!
You can try this recipe without them, but I haven't tried it this way. Give it a try if you are opposed to the eggs, and let us know how it works out!
The FDA does NOT recommend consuming unpasteurized raw eggs under any circumstances, but concentrations of alcohol as low as 8 percent are high enough to kill problematic bacteria that may be present. The Irish Whiskey and Brandy in this recipe contains 40 percent alcohol.
wow, I had no idea that Irish Cream has raw eggs in it. I always thought that it was just milkshake with whiskey/brandy. I totally learn something new everytime I watch you videos.

Hi, I'm from Argentina, I make something similar for making "Bayleys" but I start with the eggs in a saucepan and heat them to 60ºC, with the milk and cream, and them with they are cold proceed with the recipe...
If you leave out the alcohol, then I recommend leaving out the raw eggs and make a milk shake. I have a video called "Dates" that shows you how to make a great "alcohol free" milk shake. You may want to try that recipe.

I remember reading somewhere that there're eggs out in the market that have been slightly heated so that it's safe to consume when recipes call for raw eggs...

Is the egg necessary? Uncooked eggs are salmonella-risk food.
francisvsu 8 months ago
@francisvsu Yes, the egg is necessary in this version. If you prefer, you can cook this over low heat until the mixture reaches about 160 degrees F.

AWESOME! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Irish Cream but I nevert thought I could make my own! Thank you sooooooo much for posting this up!
Erm, mine a quick question? What brand of whisky and brandy should I use? Cheap brands aren't gonna cut it right?
kingofsapi 11 months ago
@kingofsapi
Hello. Jameson Irish whiskey would be my choice. As far as a Brandy, a good Cognac would be my recommendation.

When I was stationed in Belfast, in the early 80s this is not the way I made cream out of the Irish LOL.
Any way the method given here by the chef is very new to me, with regards to how I made, Irish Cream in the good old days.

does it have to be refrigerated, and
if not how long would all the ingredients stay mixed without separated from the whiskey.
Thanks
