Months later, this is still one of the most beautiful videos have ever seen. You have very real and true talent Andromedas. Thank you for all of your excellent work.
I have been watching your videos for a couple years and I have enjoyed every second. Your intellectual approach to the subject of atheism and religion is refreshing. I made an account on YouTube just to subscribe and so I could tell you one thing. Thank you.
This is one of the best videos I´ve ever seen. Truly beautiful. Well done mate. To me it was also a look at the stars to realize that our origins must be somewhere out there and certainly not in devine creation. Looking forward to more... But for now, I wish you a good night and a clear sky ;)
Furthermore, the author of this video has no rational justification to be adverse to anything done in the name of religion.
The preeminent proclivity of religiosity, theism etc. intrinsic to human nature as evidenced from earliest recorded history and overwhelmingly until this day would simply be non-transcendent purposed phenomena in effective manifestation, as would everything be if atheism were true.
What rational justification is there to be adverse to any natural phenomena displayed?
Hear what God of Israel YAHUSHUA-YAHUWAH (Son and Father are ONE) saying to our generation by His chosen prophets: Trumpetcallofgodonline. com ; Letter called "Purify Your Faith, and Come to the Father as It is Written": EXCERPT: "Only in the Bible and through these very Letters, of which I have given to My prophet of the end of this age, shall you find Him and know Him."
If your belief that God/s does not exist, thus atheism is true, then all knowledge acquired, accomplishments and experiences would be as if these, you, no one, and nothing had ever existed in the first place, if conscious existence ceases upon death.
Theist are inspired by the belief in a God capable of creating everything in it's unfathomable splendor.
The atheist best prospect is to never even know if their belief in non-transcendent purpose happenstance by naturalistic processes is true.
"Theist are inspired by the belief in a God capable of creating everything in it's unfathomable splendor" that doesn't equals "true".
If I had said or meant that it was necessarily "true" as your decietful Straw Man of my position infers, then instead of having said "inspired by the belief", I would have said; "inspired by the knowledge.
Consequently, yours is proven false for logically fallacious argumentation which "equals" Fail!
Moreover, even if your belief that no God/s exists is true, then you wouldn't ever know it, if conscious existence ceases upon death, because it would be as if all knowledge ever acquired, accomplishments, experiences etc., you, no one, and nothing had ever existed in the first place.
Conversely, you could only know if you're dead wrong.
@LizardLeaps "if your belief that no God/s exists is true, then you wouldn't ever know it, if conscious existence ceases upon death"-> Correct; so what? "because it would be as if all knowledge ever acquired, accomplishments, experiences etc., you, no one, and nothing had ever existed in the first place" No, that only means that I exist no more and thus what I am and my memories, experiences etcetera exists no more, that in any sense means that nothing have ever existed.
"So" you would never know that your belief by FAITH of everything coming to be through self-propagated non-transcendent purposed coincident happenstance by presupposed naturalistic mechanistic processes was true, even if it really were.
It nullifies for being self-contradictory, the specious premise of the author of this video in his atheistic FAITH belief of "his universe being limitless", when it would effectually be limited to our finite limited existence, if atheism were really true.
Moreover, his alleged appreciation of the cosmos and all life ever existent, would effectually amount to nothing in the final analysis, if atheism were true.
The author of this video has no rational justification to be adverse to anything done in the name of religion.
The preeminent proclivity of religiosity, theism, etc. intrinsic to human nature as evidenced from earliest recorded history and overwhelmingly until this day would simply be non-transcendent purposed phenomena in effective manifestation, as would everything be if atheism were true.
What rational justification is there to be adverse to any natural phenomena displayed?
Yes,"that only means that" everyone upon their death, would consciously cease to exist until the last person to ever live ceases to physically exist, for which it would effectually be as if no one and nothing had ever existed in the first place.
Conversely, you would only know if your belief by FAITH in everything, by nothing you could know, for nothing that you just don't know is dead wrong, if conscious existence continues post death.
In Islam the "purpose of life" is to grow/develop our personalities/essential selves in morality and god-consciousness, through understanding, making choices & suffering, we are developing a relationship of pleasure/ love/closeness to God/Allah and His attributes
A lot of people turn to religion when they have a sick or dying family member, friend or loved one. It allows them believe that, that person, even though suffering now, will be happy in death.
The religious delusion is the biggest weight on the shoulders of the beautiful, intricate, natural world we are so lucky to be a part of.
In the famous words of Richard Dawkins- "Isn't it enough to see that the garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?"
Everybody needs to believe in something in this imperfect world of hate, war, famine and hardship...But the belief in yourself, the vast capabilities of your brain, and the things you can ac
@ramdizzle1989 But isn't it more intelligent to find out what the absolute truth is than having an assortment of beliefs that are nothing more than self-deception and delusion. For instance, I can believe the sky at night is nothing more than a painting. I have a right to believe that and you, if you believe in human rights, will respect my right no matter how barmy it is to you. But wil it help me? Of course not, because the truth is entirely different. So it is up to you to show me the truth.
@ramdizzle1989 But then the onus will be upon you to prove that you are right and I am wrong and for you to do so without abusing me because of what I believe no matter how ridiculous it is in your view right? If people did that instead of throwing abuse at each other like a bunch of schoolchildren then we might start to get closer to the truth don't you agree?
After several years of watching YouTube videos and searching for a well spoken statement for atheism, I find this video most succinctly and beautifully describes the correct view of humanity and the cosmos. Well done, AndomedasWake!
I keep coming back to this video. It's eloquently written, beautifully put together and truly inspiring. I can't help but to get frustrated with some theists when they feel that my life is meaningless because of my lack of belief in God, and I can't seem to put it into words that they could understand exactly why my life *isn't* empty or meaningless precisely because I have no belief in God.
The thoughts on this video are exactly the kinds of thoughts I wish I could articulate to those theists.
If E.T. came to earth and was shown this to represent human beings, we would be honored throughout the universe. If you showed him a video on religion...
@hasacra oh actually theres evidence to the contrary. Physics explains the night sky and you Hypothesizing something thats never been supported by evidence doesnt mean a thing.
when I look up at the night sky I see the spectacular creation of my God and savior and know He is there and made me for a purpose. I cannot begin to understand how you can look at the stars believing that there is no Creator and still feel that you have a purpose.
@hasacra On the contrary, how can you see any purpose in existing in a Universe created on a whim by a mystical being? You reduce the Universe to nothing more than a plaything, and I can think of nothing that would assign it any less value.
@Mogley52 Yawn... Can't creationists come up with new bogus arguments instead of the old ones we've heard so many times. Repeating and/or restating over and over again won't make it more true.
Can't even say I LoLed at you. Just a sad sigh and a yawn
@brianhyde63 just think about it.... do you really believe an old bearded man is out in the sky flying around on a cloud and watching over us to see if we are doing bad deeds? what proof do you have that the olympians doesn't exist?
Not sure I can agree with that, for one simple reason:
Atheism is not a truth claim. To suggest that it is is to play into the hands of the credulous who suggest that atheism is a dogmatic position. It asserts no truth claims of its own, it merely rejects the truth claims of others with regard to the existence of supernatural entities as being unsubstantiated.
JESUS CHRIST, HIS CATHOLIC-UNIVERSAL-APOSTOLIC CHURCH, SACRAMENTS, THE BIBLE, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, ST. MARY APPARITIONS, MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN, SIGNS IN 2011 ARE NOT A MYTHOLOGY BUT THE REALITY !!!
I can't even explain to you in words how much i thoroughly enjoyed this video. I wish i could like it thousands of times and get it some more views. Your voice is perfect for this type of thing.. I just can't even put what I'm feeling into words. I absolutely loved this. Bravo sir, bravo.
I'm confused by your argument that we don't have free will. Are you suggesting that our decisions are inevitable because they are driven by natural processes? Eating a plum plus thinking about religion leads to (for my particular chemical make up at least) staying up late and commenting on youtube.
ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Nature has no ability to invent new genes via random mutations caused by random environmental forces. That’s evolutionary faith, not science. Read my article, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
GOD, HEAVEN, AND SEX: Internet article examines the Biblical possibility of sex in heaven. Human sexuality isn't just for reproduction. There are reasons the Bible requires marriage for sex on earth, but those reasons won't exist in heaven. Scripture teaches, in heaven, we'll be like the angels only in one sense - no marriage, but we won't be like angels in every other way (i.e. Bible says we'll enjoy food and drink). Psalm 16:11 says there will be great spiritual joy and pleasures in heaven.
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of the law of entropy. Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)
NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). How were species living, reproducing if their reproductive system, vital structures, and organs hadn't evolved yet? Read my Pravda Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! I discuss: Punctuated Equilibrium, "Junk DNA," genetics, mutations, natural selection, fossils, genetic/biological similarities between species.
NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from variations produced having survival value. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, then that species is going to survive (be "selected'). That's all that natural selection is! It's a passive process in nature. Read my popular Internet article WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS.
WHAT ABOUT THE STARS? Gravity explains how the order found in the precise courses of trillions of stars is maintained, but gravity can't explain the origin of that order! Did all the trillions stars agree to get out of each others way? C'mon! Disorder in the universe is because of chance, but the order is because of design. Read my popular Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.
SCIENCE DOESN'T EXPLAIN AWAY GOD: Natural laws may explain how an airplane or living cell works, but mere undirected natural laws cannot explain the origin of either. Science simply is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith the scientific evidence best supports. Read my Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
DAWKINS, HITCHENS, AND HAWKING REFUSE TO DEBATE with creationists who are SCIENTISTS, such as the scientists at The Institute for Creation Research. Dawkins and his friends only debate non-scientist creationists. Read articles by scientists supporting creation at The Institute for Creation Research site.
DO EYES CARRY SCARS OF EVOLUTION? Read this fantastic Internet article by biologist and creationist Brian Thomas. Thomas refutes every argument for a "flawed" design for the eye, and explains how and why the so-called flaw is actually the best thing for the eye. Read the article! It's amazing what facts evolutionists will ignore. Numerous times evolutionists have been proven wrong about their interpretation of a structure as flawed or useless.
BLIND WATCHMAKER NO ARGUMENT. Natural selection is no "blind watchmaker" because it can only "select," not produce. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. It couldn't wait ("survive") millions of years for chance to complete it and then make it living! Read: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
AMINO ACIDS CAN HAPPEN BY CHANCE BUT NOT PROTEINS: Read my popular Internet articles, "How Forensic Science Refutes Atheism," "Origin of Life Deception by Evolutionists," "Any Life On Mars Came From Earth."
INTELLIGENT DESIGN DEBATE: If you discovered a sand castle on a lonely beach, you can't prove it was made by either chance or design. No one observed its origins. Either it was designed or the random forces of wind and waves made the castle. You didn't find fingerprints. Did the wind wipe the fingerprints away? How do we know that there were fingerprints in the first place? By chance or by design? Both sides should present their case. Read the article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
GENETIC INFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. It doesn't mean all forms of life are biologically related! "Junk DNA" isn't junk. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression. Read: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!

ARE FOSSILS REALLY MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD? Popular Internet article examines assumptions concerning fossil deposition as well as built-in assumptions involved in modern radiometric dating (not used for dating fossils but other rocks), arguments from starlight and time. Discusses lack of transitional forms and lack of "age" sequence of the fossil layers. Discusses mixed species in fossils (i.e. dinosaur, reptile, mammal fossils in the same stratum conveniently ignored by evolutionists).
IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! There are no true transitional forms, either living or fossilized. Evolutionists realize this fact! Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
NOT ALL EVOLUTIONISTS even agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature. They can reconstruct whatever they want from these bones, and they have. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from an ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from a four-legged dog-like creature. Read my article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE
APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged dog-like creatures. Read Internet article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE.
EINSTEIN CONFIRMED that space and time are just as physical as matter. That's why space and time can become contorted by gravity. Einstein's equations show that the universe couldn’t be eternal. It had a beginning. Einstein believed, because of science, in the existence of God behind the origin and order of the universe. He didn't believe in a personal God like Christians do, but he did believe science pointed to the existence of an all powerful and intelligent Creator!

@andromedaswake you truly are a wonderful person and i wish to talk to you, to befriend you. you seem like a very kind hearted person and they are quite rare to find. my hat is tipped to you good sir. have a jolly day and a great life!
I apologize for the short discussion that appears below. For the record (in case he comes back), prophet does not mean priest. I can say everything I know - pretty much about everything - derives from the Gwynnite Hypothesis, independent study I did as a scientist. And this is not the forum for such a discussion.
Originally posted because I respect this video; what I watched in the video makes me likely to respect the creator of this video. Hate on me somewhere else. Thx.
Part 1: You have to love these sort of science-based atheists like AW, AronRa, and Thunderf00t, who claim to be open-minded about the existence of a god, so long as some sort of empirical evidence can be presented, and yet - whenever such evidence is presented... they will invariably dismiss it as illusory.
Life appears designed... even ardent atheists like Richard Dawkins will admit this - however - according to people like AW - this is just an ILLUSION. The universe appears to be, Cont.
Part 2: fine-tuned for life... many prominent physicists agree - however - according to people like AW - this is just an ILLUSION. It appears as if humans have free will, atheists and theists both agree - however... this TOO is just an ILLUSION. It appears as if humans have a sense of morality and justice and love, but these too - are just ILLUSIONS.
So, let me ask you a question AW. How did you come to the conclusion that all of these things are illusions? Did you presuppose, Cont.
Part 3: something like metaphysical-naturalism before even looking at the evidence - whereby... working backwards from a conclusion... and if not, what leads you to believe that all of these things are, in fact - illusions?
That is to say - how do you determine what is and is not an illusion? Is there a way to scientifically test for this - or are you simply using your own personal bias and intuition? For instance, why don't you think that evolution is an illusion? Cont.
@theDracoIX There is no evidence for god. I am, therefore god; that is my belief as to how theism should begin - any evidence for god only exists in the individual. To look for "evidence of god" in order to support religion is to commit sin. To look for "evidence of god" in order to support the personal quest for love and understanding is to enter the kingdom of heaven.
@theDracoIX The memory I have of receiving the title of prophet from god. Which does not make me prophet nor god extant. Which does make the Book of Job the beginning of the Bible. :)
I have tested the hypothesis of being "prophet of god" in the most careful, scientific manner possible - over six years - and now consider "prophet of god" to be valid hypothesis. That's enough about me. What about you? What are you really asking?
@houseofcantor You're a blood drinking, shapeshifting nigger parasite on the ass of humanity. You have exactly 524 days until those voices in your head consume you. There is your message from God, nigger.
@theDracoIX I can most definitely understand your hostility, and have little problem with it. For instance, I am not "nigger" in any sense of the word. Being a prophet has nothing to do with being a seer. Hate is a useful tool, but don't let hate consume you. And consumption occurs on 12/19 - your count is a little off. :)
@theDracoIX Well, I have analysed his argument thoroughly from several perspectives, and I have reached the logical conclusion that he may well be the prophet of god. In fact, I have more concrete evidence that suggests the validity of his statement than I have evidence of the existence of an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent deity.
So you shouldn't really be mocking the prophet of god. I mean, risky business?
And also, no one can shapeshift. That's a very silly statement. Shame on you.
I love your commentary... You have a beautiful voice, very reassuring. I also applaud everything you say, because it resonates deep within my heart. But as someone from asia, I would like to say that though many people believe it so, Buddhism is not a religion, because Buddha is not god, and there is no concept of God in Buddhism. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Thanks, AW. This video brought me chills, and re-awoke my yearning to understand. I can't imagine what we have yet to learn in this brief existance, but I hope to help the rest of humanity understand before I succumb to the infinity.
@apumpkinful "Why would a "personal video" make a declaration that EVERY person should be able to "look at the stars" and determine this is nothing but a material world?"
Well then I DON'T KNOW but I can suggest that you ASK THE AUTHOR WHY,
INSTEAD OF ASSERTING SOMETHING ABOUT THE AUTHOR WITHOUT A MODEL THAT SUBSTANTIATES WHAT YOU SAY.
Asserting the use of logic through faulty proceedings is IN ITSELF a personal view that you're trying to push to make your point.
@apumpkinful "You're just a goddamn moron, lmao."
Noope. :)
You can't assert that a view is religious when it's character is naturalistic as a confirmed property of a real universe, rather than just a natural view, which is likely what you seem to think this is, and claim that all it's proponents are religious as well for holding it.
That's a fallacious inference. Specially since there's no model to show it works like you say.
@apumpkinful "Science has to conform to the rules of logic.
An 'Appeal to Nature' is a logical fallacy."
Both are correct, BUT you cannot give a conclusion such that this video, irrespective or the perspective sought therein, or it's author, are appealing in a manner alike to a religion would, since attempting to arrive at this point arguing that almost-absolute certains are being violated corroborates these certains to appeal themselves to a religious character.
@apumpkinful "An 'Appeal to Nature' is a logical fallacy."
Which is what the "Natural" view does. I suggest a correction of terms to you.
The "Naturalistic" view ordains in a character fact of the universe, which is a naturalistic universe. We KNOW the universe is naturalistic and deterministic, and provided we're not entering the realm of quantum physics, this remains valid in human scale AND in a macro-scale.
This isn't a matter of debate, either. It's a fact.
@apumpkinful "You ignored the rest of my comment, so I'll just repeat myself."
No I didn't.
Don't put actions on me that I did not perform.
Here's the correction you're missing:
"The naturalistic view doesn't conform to the rules of logic."
1) Who's logic? This is unspecific yet and thus, needs more explanation to be effective.
2) There is a difference between "The Natural View" and "The Naturalistic View". I'm sure you're smart enough to know which one is happening here in this video.
@apumpkinful "The naturalistic view isn't a part of science."
Based on what?
Is there no such thing as a scientific view in science, then?
How different are they?
Because saying that something "isn't a part of science" is an appeal to an assigned or perceived character, and as such, can be accused of the exact same thing that you're accusing this video's uploader.
@apumpkinful I'd be more correct to consider that the naturalistic view is a branch of the scientific view. I know the scientific view isn't religious, because by definition, science looks only at the natural and the objective. Nature is further defined as the phenomena of the physical world, and the physical force regarded as causing and regulating the phenomena of the world.
If any instance of this video starts looking at anything beyond nature I'd agree with you. But that just doesn't happen.
@apumpkinful In his personal view or in a naturalistic view?
Wouldn't he be exonerated from being called "religious" as soon as a specific instance where his opinion would be more in common with a naturalistic view than with a personalized belief in the mystical or the cosmically mesmerizing?
Isn't even the doubt of the origin to his claim enough to say he might be inclined to say it's others with no knowledge of the cosmos that resort to the mystical instead of him as assiduous cosmologist?
"Is it beautiful?" is not a fact. it is a question. The anwer is an opinion. In MY opinion, the universe is beautiful. Chance is beautiful. But modern humanity is not.
And also, I don't believe I'm implying AndromedasWake is indoctrinated or dishonest.
Those are relative terms that appeal to character, in the end. And while I do agree that there is personalized character input into this video, I disagree that we can simply categorize that character as "indoctrinated" and "dishonest" with only this video as background.
That's jumping too many fences to arrive at your conclusion.
I could just as easily argue that you see indoctrination a priori.
@apumpkinful "No, because he's not appealing to modernity and civilization."
Isn't it implied, though? The appeal to them? If you analyze in the context of the present and science in the present, you'll see that this video fits into that context. I would argue that the video is more a conclusion of the context of "now" than it would be a conclusion of any form of indoctrination or religiousness.
I still fail to see religiousness. I'd say it's more a "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing.
@theantinatalist I don't take pleasure in suffering things, I just don't waste my life wallowing over them, there's a significant difference. I'm not refuting you further, you're depressing me...
Of course it is not. Im not technically rational. Nothing is TECHNICALLY rational. It depends on who you are talking to. You contradicted yourself mate.. Different people experience different things, and have different opinions. Some people, some natives in africa for example, do not think talking on the phone is rational. Some do not believe wearing clothes is rational. Some believe that you are irrational. Therefore, i am rational by my means, but not by some.
@apumpkinful Think about this: when you die, would you rather people continuously wallow in disappear about your death or would you want them to get on with their lives before they meet the same inevitable fate.
@apumpkinful Wouldn't it be just as valid to say that this video is one where we're glad we're living in a modernized civilization rather than one that asserts an inherent religious nature in humanity as a whole?
Even by an argument of exceptions you'd still be wrong. I see you sort of trying to push an opinion here. I just think that's as dishonest a claim as any indoctrinate would and has made.
You need to make more videos like this!

You falsely assume that I necessarily assume knowledge, accomplishments and experiences are absolutes by your absolute and in factual terms assertion.
Consequently, yours is Invalid/disqualified in a Straw Man fallacy and is a further irrelevancy and diversion to/from my actual premises, thus Fail!

If I had said or meant that it was necessarily "true" as your decietful Straw Man of my position infers, then instead of having said "inspired by the belief", I would have said; "inspired by the knowledge.
Consequently, yours is proven false for logically fallacious argumentation which "equals" Fail!

DocStrange0123 2 months ago
@DocStrange0123

"And what's the problem about it exactly?"

LizardLeaps 2 months ago
@DocStrange0123
"No, that only means..."

So it is up to you to show me the truth.
brianhyde63 2 months ago
@ramdizzle1989 But then the onus will be upon you to prove that you are right and I am wrong and for you to do so without abusing me because of what I believe no matter how ridiculous it is in your view right? If people did that instead of throwing abuse at each other like a bunch of schoolchildren then we might start to get closer to the truth don't you agree?

Part 1: You have to love these sort of science-based atheists like AW, AronRa, and Thunderf00t, who claim to be open-minded about the existence of a god, so long as some sort of empirical evidence can be presented, and yet - whenever such evidence is presented... they will invariably dismiss it as illusory.
Life appears designed... even ardent atheists like Richard Dawkins will admit this - however - according to people like AW - this is just an ILLUSION. The universe appears to be, Cont.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
Part 2: fine-tuned for life... many prominent physicists agree - however - according to people like AW - this is just an ILLUSION. It appears as if humans have free will, atheists and theists both agree - however... this TOO is just an ILLUSION. It appears as if humans have a sense of morality and justice and love, but these too - are just ILLUSIONS.
So, let me ask you a question AW. How did you come to the conclusion that all of these things are illusions? Did you presuppose, Cont.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
Part 3: something like metaphysical-naturalism before even looking at the evidence - whereby... working backwards from a conclusion... and if not, what leads you to believe that all of these things are, in fact - illusions?
That is to say - how do you determine what is and is not an illusion? Is there a way to scientifically test for this - or are you simply using your own personal bias and intuition? For instance, why don't you think that evolution is an illusion? Cont.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
Part 4: Even if it appears as if humans evolved from lower lifeforms, it could still be an illusion and if so - how would you know?
I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on discerning reality from illusion... maybe you can even make a video on the subject.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
@theDracoIX There is no evidence for god. I am, therefore god; that is my belief as to how theism should begin - any evidence for god only exists in the individual. To look for "evidence of god" in order to support religion is to commit sin. To look for "evidence of god" in order to support the personal quest for love and understanding is to enter the kingdom of heaven.
houseofcantor 6 months ago
@houseofcantor What would you consider evidence for god? Go ahead.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
@theDracoIX The memory I have of receiving the title of prophet from god. Which does not make me prophet nor god extant. Which does make the Book of Job the beginning of the Bible. :)
I have tested the hypothesis of being "prophet of god" in the most careful, scientific manner possible - over six years - and now consider "prophet of god" to be valid hypothesis. That's enough about me. What about you? What are you really asking?

theDracoIX 6 months ago
@theDracoIX I can most definitely understand your hostility, and have little problem with it. For instance, I am not "nigger" in any sense of the word. Being a prophet has nothing to do with being a seer. Hate is a useful tool, but don't let hate consume you. And consumption occurs on 12/19 - your count is a little off. :)

@HeshMetalhead Not when you consider what a low-life this thing is.
theDracoIX 6 months ago
@theDracoIX Well, I have analysed his argument thoroughly from several perspectives, and I have reached the logical conclusion that he may well be the prophet of god. In fact, I have more concrete evidence that suggests the validity of his statement than I have evidence of the existence of an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent deity.
So you shouldn't really be mocking the prophet of god. I mean, risky business?
And also, no one can shapeshift. That's a very silly statement. Shame on you.

that is my new motto. i am atheist. and my universe is limitless.
gooddarkjedi 7 months ago
@gooddarkjedi The universe is not limitless.
The big bang would suggest that our universe is volatile and finite, instead of static and infinite.
The limits of the universe are at this point in time unknown, that does not make them limitless.
charbroiledmonk1033 6 months ago

Why?

@apumpkinful "You're just a goddamn moron, lmao."
Noope.

Why are you insulting me personally?
There are just questions.
Do they bother you, then?
Should I stop asking you?

"2. A religious appeal to nature is happening here in this video."
That's the point you're arguing happens but can't seem to offer a model that I or anyone else can follow to arrive at this conclusion.

@apumpkinful "That's not relevant to this video at all."
It is in the context of the type of view that should be identified here before any exterior character is or can be logically assigned to it.
I would suggest you ask the video's author before you jump to conclusions on the type of opinion being portrayed here.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful "Science has to conform to the rules of logic.
An 'Appeal to Nature' is a logical fallacy."
Both are correct, BUT you cannot give a conclusion such that this video, irrespective or the perspective sought therein, or it's author, are appealing in a manner alike to a religion would, since attempting to arrive at this point arguing that almost-absolute certains are being violated corroborates these certains to appeal themselves to a religious character.
That's the flaw I point to.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful "An 'Appeal to Nature' is a logical fallacy."
Which is what the "Natural" view does. I suggest a correction of terms to you.
The "Naturalistic" view ordains in a character fact of the universe, which is a naturalistic universe. We KNOW the universe is naturalistic and deterministic, and provided we're not entering the realm of quantum physics, this remains valid in human scale AND in a macro-scale.
This isn't a matter of debate, either. It's a fact.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful "You ignored the rest of my comment, so I'll just repeat myself."
No I didn't.
Don't put actions on me that I did not perform.
Here's the correction you're missing:
"The naturalistic view doesn't conform to the rules of logic."
1) Who's logic? This is unspecific yet and thus, needs more explanation to be effective.
2) There is a difference between "The Natural View" and "The Naturalistic View". I'm sure you're smart enough to know which one is happening here in this video.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful "The naturalistic view isn't a part of science."
Based on what?
Is there no such thing as a scientific view in science, then?
How different are they?
Because saying that something "isn't a part of science" is an appeal to an assigned or perceived character, and as such, can be accused of the exact same thing that you're accusing this video's uploader.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful Troll harder.
Sharagran 7 months ago
@apumpkinful I'd be more correct to consider that the naturalistic view is a branch of the scientific view. I know the scientific view isn't religious, because by definition, science looks only at the natural and the objective. Nature is further defined as the phenomena of the physical world, and the physical force regarded as causing and regulating the phenomena of the world.
If any instance of this video starts looking at anything beyond nature I'd agree with you. But that just doesn't happen.
Ital21 7 months ago
@apumpkinful In his personal view or in a naturalistic view?
Wouldn't he be exonerated from being called "religious" as soon as a specific instance where his opinion would be more in common with a naturalistic view than with a personalized belief in the mystical or the cosmically mesmerizing?
Isn't even the doubt of the origin to his claim enough to say he might be inclined to say it's others with no knowledge of the cosmos that resort to the mystical instead of him as assiduous cosmologist?

@theantinatalist
im talking about it as a question.
"Is it beautiful?" is not a fact. it is a question. The anwer is an opinion. In MY opinion, the universe is beautiful. Chance is beautiful. But modern humanity is not.

@apumpkinful Is he?

@apumpkinful
Ital21 7 months ago

I'm not refuting you further, you're depressing me...
kiemul136 7 months ago
@theantinatalist
0ggabOgga 7 months ago
@apumpkinful Think about this: when you die, would you rather people continuously wallow in disappear about your death or would you want them to get on with their lives before they meet the same inevitable fate.
kiemul136 7 months ago
@theantinatalist Yes, all thoughts of suffering are overruled by orgasms and fun things like PARTYING... WOOOOOW! GET A LIFE!
kiemul136 7 months ago
@apumpkinful Wouldn't it be just as valid to say that this video is one where we're glad we're living in a modernized civilization rather than one that asserts an inherent religious nature in humanity as a whole?
Even by an argument of exceptions you'd still be wrong. I see you sort of trying to push an opinion here. I just think that's as dishonest a claim as any indoctrinate would and has made.

@apumpkinful Ohh, play the world's smallest violin again, get a life! No I mean, seriousl
