Beautiful video! I'm an American living in Sierre (I have the Rothorn restaurant/pub) and was looking for an aerial view of the vineyards of Valais to show my friends and family back home.....this is perfect! Thank you!
I was just watching again... in my last post I said i've never flown a Lama, well the chance maybe coming up to fly the Alouette 318C, whats the difference between the two other than engines? the Performance of that Lama makes it look like a model! Cant wait to try one!
The Lama is made of a reinforced structure of an Alouette II + the mecanical components of the Alouette III. It's is much more powerfull (550 HP instead of 360). It is a little bit quicker, it can fly at very high altitudes and lift about its own weight! The technology is exactly the same, with some minor differences (3 tail rotor blades instead of 2, larger rotor blades, "dry"gearbox...) His mechanics are almost indestructible, even if you use it at its limits! It's a flying workhorse!
You're absolutely right. The Lama weights about 1100 kg and it can lift loads as heavy at itself! This huge reserve of power is needed when you carry 400 to 600 liters of chemical products. One of the other advantages of the Lama is the excellent visibility it offers to the pilot.
Hello... indeed this video should interest your dad :-) We have some of the most difficult terrains for crop dusting here in Switzerland :-)Fortunately the Lama has a huge reserve of power :-)

@00023smitty It's like everything, you just have to learn it! Try to take a lesson with a helicopter, it's very interesting and funny!

Great job filming and presentation.
Man, I'd have to have a 5 gallon bucket sitting at my side to ride like that.
Thanks for sharing.

Crop dusting in the Valais is the ultimate art of flying. It's like playing Mozart as a solist!

Awesome flying! looks a bit more difficult than a flat field to say the least! 5 stars! never flown a lama looks a good heli for the job though.
