STANLEY: I don't see Wise as marginalizing whites per se, but bringing consciousness to some folks. Most modern day whites in America are descendants from immigrants who came during the industrial revolution in the 20th century for work and to provide for their families. You were rejecting the notion of dividing people into the categories of white vs non-white then you turn around and divided people in the categories non-white vs white as if that really said anything different. yes of course blacks work and pay taxes too, but the data is clear that whites controbution towards taxes are far higher than that of minorities. this is why black community is almost hegemic in wanting to raise taxes because they are the reciprients, and why the "tea party" (largely tax and big gov. protesting) movement is white middle class which are the payers. all im advocating is that black money goes to black interests, and white money to white interests.

STAN: We can agree to disagree, however, I do see Wise as attempting to expose and inform. I feel that because white people in general, are not as inclined to delve into and search out the experiences of " the other," I believe someone has to do it. Wise is passionate, emotional, and sincere.

Using the ugly history of race and racism, they can justify marginalizing anyone simply for being "white". Now we are being accused of feeling "anxious"! Pretty clever eh? STANLEY: I don't see Wise as marginalizing whites per se, but bringing consciousness to some folks. He wants to address the knee-jerk reactions, thoughts, attitudes, perceptions, behaviors, people have and the fact that these are deeply embedded into peoples' psyche. The only time some people think seriously about their thoughts & attitudes on race up is when someone from their group brings it up in scathing details. I don't think he wants to make people feel guilty... that's counterproductive.

Sadly, I think many white folks would simply assume that no racism exists and they would falsely assume that society is equal with equal opportunities. @DesmondE No Desmond, you got it wrong. 1. You don't ever assume to know how another person "feels". 2. You don't fault people for feeling what you assume their feeling. 3. IF someone was feeling anxiety due to your conduct, then the reflection and examination should be on YOURSELF and not your target. If it makes you feel good to believe that "white" people feel anxiety well you go. But I'd call that a tad sadistic.
