good fuckn recording this is a great playfortoday live video they were great then and they are still give a shit about all the jason drama love the cure :)
@mowglix. I should read more carefully... i see now that you are saying when this was recorded was dismal, not when the song was released. i have no problem with that because after pornography i have no use for the cure until disintegration. i thought you were saying 17 seconds was bad...and i was gonna habe to go to that on that. :-)
I grew up on The Cure, more or less, but I must say this era is the least palatable during their career. This is neither the brilliant darker side of the band, nor the poppy, happy, carefree side. It's was a rather dismal time, around the time of The Top, if my memory serves me well.
@MowgliX WTH are you talking about? This is The Cure at their minimalist best!!! The low-fi, low tech despair and angst and hollow empty space (especially in M and A Forest) is right there with everything else they have done. Sometimes less is more.
Oh how I miss the 80s!! The Cure are just truly a phenomenal band of all time!! The Cure is absolutely excellent and Robert is just brilliant!! And Damn, he is gorgeous here!! :)) Love this band!! Love this song!! The Cure forever my friends!! ☺♥
This is so amazing!! I love running across more wonderful footage of The Cure and the ever so gorgeous Robert!! He looks mighty fine here!! :) This song is perfect!! The Cure is awesome !! Always loved them, always will!! The Cure forever and always!! :) ♥
This song just kicks ass!! The Cure kicks ass!! They have been doing it for over 30 years now and i hope they continue on!! This song is just amazing!! The Cure is just pure perfection, a phenomenal band all the way!! I have been loving them for 27 years now and it will continue on through my lifetime! Robert is just amazing in every aspect! A poetic genius and beautiful through and through! What an awesome band!! Rock on forever Cure!! :)
I wish The Cure would have kept Andy Anderson on drums instead of picking up Boris from Thompson Twins...Boris never fit the Cure in my own mind. Oh yeah, and also missed Simon...the best bassist they ever had.
I think this is a rather great version of this song live indeed!! Oh how I just love the Cure and Robert!! Been loving them for 24 years now and I know it will never change! Such a phenomenal band with so much talent and poetic genius indeed. Their music has always touched my life in one way or another. It has been such an important part of my life. The Cure are a band all their own, no one can touch the Cure!! Their music is magical and mesmerizing all the way!! The Cure Forever!! <3
I did pop by your Channel and you're right .. there was a rather strong Cure emphasis. To the point that every fifth two word had The Cure somewhere in it .... I only went on YouTube to look for a rather rare track once seen on The Tube (before your time, missus) which I did manage to find called BananaFishBones... and then went on t'PlayForToday link yersee? Meantime try MY channel. And you may see a few pictures of ... motorbikes. Tho' you may get a shot of a Harley Fat Bob so does that count?
I truly laugh every time every time I see Porl playing the keyboards and then they go to Lol... what the heck other than scratching his nuts was Lol doing really back then? hehehehehe
Wow! wow, this is a unique video. Different bass player than the usual, also, makes you wonder that since Porl was doing keyboards, what the heck was lol doing in this song? hehehehe. Andy Anderson was/is a great drummer, I wish they had called him after the irreplaceble Boris left.....
LOL (appropriate) was stone drunk as usual. You know there was a major drag down bar figh between LOL and the gothfather. LOL wanted rights to Cure Songs. Ugly lawsuit but I need not tell you who won. BTW, the song Figurehead is about the heartbreak of LOL alcoholic meltdown.
God, I love Robert's Jazzmaster. Its pretty cool how he added that middle pickup from one of his old guitars because he liked the tone so much. Too bad he doesn't use it as much now. Classic Cure tone right there. The mellow ringing is just, perfect.
I love the Cure but the songs riff is kind of a cheesy harmony we the spiderman play double stops with open string. Sounds great but is not very hard. Throw in heavy chorus/echo/delay and. well, you get a great riff. Always remember its his voice and lyrics that make the Cure #1
Whoops, I'm wrong! Sorry all, I'm new to UTUBA. My previous post should have referred to PUSH, not PLAY. Here, the great one is playing harmonis on the 12th, 7th, 5th qnd bqck to the 12th. This is NOT EASY. P.S. - I love this song 'cause the crowds wrote the chorus - :whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, wha whoo .... This is one of the best.
Boy that audio reading of comments kinda sucks ... I'm probably not help stuff with all the typos (what the does "qnd bqck" (and back) mean. Anyway, going to the next song before I am-bare-ass my self further.
This song is wonderful. Thank you Cure for producing beauty

Yeah, you are right. He used to use it a lot in the early days. But I think he did use it on some of the songs on 'Bloodflowers'.
