Hey James, I completed my XS setup and let me tell you it was easy after watching YOUR video.. screw the XS sight one.. I took your tips and put some in the front sight screw hole AND put some on the bottom of the rear sight.. Fortunately my rear sight slid in easy with actually a little play in it.. i tight tighten the set screw and threw a little more thread lock in the corners to let em soak in a bit.. I like how your video is simple and effective no bullshit extra crap steps ! thumbs up man
I think I like your way on the rear sight of thread locking the holes and rubbing some across the bottom. I like in the XS video how they put some around the sides to let it sink in some as well. Mine come in tomorrow and Ill have to wait until Sunday to install em but I can't wait. They look like a piece of cake to install and I'm sure they are.
Nice video. I want to review some more pro/con input of the XS sight system... So far the only negative is that it's not as accurate for competition shooting which I don't do and it would be a personal defense weapon but still I would like to be able to go to the range and shoot decent groups for personal hobby.. Have you heard any major cons to the XS sigh system ? I have a G22 im purchasing and would like to improve the stock sights on it.. Any input is appreciated.
"bludgeoning device" - James, you are a breath of fresh air in this politically correct age. - I'm SO looking forward to taking your class. I have been a 1911 fan all my life, and just recently bought two Glocks...a 19 and 26.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but XS sights for the GLOCK 19 fit ALL GLOCK 19s, correct?
Because the only 19 I own at the moment is a second generation model, and I just wanted to confirm that there isn't some dovetail variation that I am unaware of.
I found some magnetic rubber deals at the hardware store that sit on the inside vice to keep your slide from getting marred up (for the guys out there that are picky).
I saw similar sights on KAHR guns and they really looked great. I'm getting 2 for my Glocks, Thanks Jim for making me spend this month's cat food money!
Well boss. After training with a Sig for years I have decided to switch to a Glock 17 for a while. It's the only way to put all of the quibbling to rest. Soon I will know which pistol works best for me. On that Glock is a set of big dots which you just taught me to install in seven minutes.
I'm gonna have to pick up a pair after seeing your videos and trying them for myself. This looks like a great system thats very simple, and naturally pointing.
I'm going to be getting into pistol shooting and wish to get good fast. I was pointed in your way by a friend. I've heard of Fighting Pistol and your Missology DVDs and I'm wondering if they're both 'for me'. Thanks in advance.
Big dot vs small? I've got an EMP 40 cal and older eyes, will the big dot still fit well in my holsters? If that is recommended? Thank you in advance

If you do ever need to remove them just put a drop of acetone on the screw head and wait a minute and it should come right off.

There you go again James, making what seemed so complex, simple enough that even I can do it.
Now I have to buy a set of XS Big Dot 24/7 for my G17 and a pair for my 1911.

Sweet, very effective, doesnt seem that hard. I'll have to look into a pair when I go for C&C.
