  • anyone noticed that reznor was wearing a marilyn manson shirt in 1995?

  • Who gives a fuck about picking favourites or whatever, NIN always has and always will rule, stop being so negative trying to fucking prioritize everything

  • So scary to think he's a year younger than my dad.

  • I was about 12 when I saved up enough to buy a CD player when The Fragile came out. It's the first album where I said without a doubt that it was the best album I ever heard.

  • Jeez I forgot how skinny Trent was back in the day. But look how cute he is sitting in that chair *sigh*

  • I think Trent looks like the Punisher sometimes

  • i like those nice inches of nails

  • There are many difference between TDS and TF album, but personally I prefer The Fragile; it´s so much deep, sensitive and beautifuly singing that other album fromj NIN. Hey! don´t get me wrong: I LIKE EVERY OF HIS ALBUMS.

  • It's funny how they seem to know nothing about Trent or NIN.

  • trents foremost attribute is hes a human

  • @kutcharaninfan well said

  • Comment removed

  • All this ds/ fragile banter...its apples and oranges kids. If either one of them is your favorite, ur cool in my book :)

  • What the hell makes yoy think that the great Trent needs to know the crap called Britney or Back street boys???

  • I know how you must feel about you're Grandmother's death Trent,

I had a Grandmother who died and I was very unhappy too.

    Rock on NIN

  • Am I the only one who thought the 90s had the best music?

Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Daft Punk, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers. I just loved the electronic music movement and how much that influenced bands into creating new and original music. So much better than that hard rock bullshit in the 80s like Poison, Motley Crue and Gun's n Roses.

  • @crazychainsawkid1 i can't believe you didn't mention tool, and marilyn manson is a wannabe trent reznor

  • @cainmartel sorry there was heaps of bands i didn't mention but that just goes to show how good the 90s were for music. I'm also a Trent Reznor fanboy so I'll never think Marilyn Manson is as good (not that I think he's a wannabe but because I think he's more for show than music) . I still like some of his music though.

  • @crazychainsawkid1 haha sorry :O. i forgot that you have less than five hundred characters to show how many good bands there were in the 90s haha. you're right.. but a couple you didn't mention: Tool, Alice In Chains, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Foo Fighters, Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Filter, Jane's Addiction, R.E.M., Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring, Weezer, The Cure (I know they were there before the 90s, but they're a good band), and now i'm out of spa

  • @cainmartel yeah good point hahaha.

  • @crazychainsawkid1 No you are not the only who thinks that in the 90´s the music was epic, great an legendary... and the 80´s sucks!!!!

  • Awesome chairs.

  • thumbs up if youve ever heard some idiot say nin is numetal

  • I heard a story about Reznor n his buddies taking Manson out into the middle of nowhere, stripping him naked, blindfolding him and letting him find his way back. This was apparently right b4 Manson got big.

Ne body else heard that story?

  • @oggo94 wtf! i meant Trent what are u smokin

  • i want to pour honey all over his body and lick it off!!!!!!!!;)

  • @MultiMa666ot Eww all over Kurt Loder?

  • My grandmother died and I went to the open casket, but I didn't shed a tear, why? Cause I'm not a fucking pussy, man this video is pissing me off.

  • @NexCarnifex Assuming, of course, that you shared the exact same relationship with your grandmother that Reznor did with his grandmother. Perhaps he shared a much deeper bond with her--could you fathom that?

  • Jesus, "I lost some friends, I was in a really really bad place and really really unhappy...);" Your famous, have infinite money, uncountable fans, yet a couple of tough friendships gets you depressed? Fuck you!

  • @NexCarnifex you sound bitter (maybe very young as well). Sorry bout your grandmother but u should understand people handle their traumas in different ways and that doesn't make them a pussy...and fans and money don't buy happiness either.

  • @NexCarnifex Uuuuuummm...maybe money and fans aren't everything...? Geez....give him a little credit, I think the guy's a little bit more complex than that...I'd be annoyed if he was actually comforted by money in the wake of lost friendships...maybe you would be though. And that would be sad.

  • @NexCarnifex

Okay, let's see you take up cocaine and alcoholism for a few years, writing block that keeps you from making the music that earns your living in the first place, and deal with your parents' death (his grandma basically raised him). Then make an album that sells millions. No? Then get the fuck out. Don't watch a video when you're intentionally going to just talk shit about it. That makes YOU the faggot, not us.

  • @liberamentis A lot of my friends are dealing with drugs and alcohol and shit and they're not whining about it, in fact there still pulling through with As which I'm sure you're whiny emo ass is far from. And oh shit, I have writers block. Well I'm sure that's tough but it's a lot easer to deal with when you're already super famous and can basically make anything that can sell, the unappreciated artists dealing with shit should be the ones complaining, but even to them they should stfu.

  • @NexCarnifex As if fame, money, and the attention lavished to you by complete strangers are superior to the maintenance, and establishment of, intimate friendships? Reznor shatters the layman's illusion: fame and money are NOT inherently greater than good friendships. His was an existential, not material crisis; something of which you evidently have NO comprehension.

  • wow..this is when he really starts to settle down.no peircings, tanktop,or leather.

  • Damn, he was soo thin, look at his neck and upperarms..did he work up to pump up his arm muscles and neck? I wonder...

  • @DeafGothic28 Definitely did, IMO.

  • What is the song at 1:43?

  • @theleinaprice it's Closer

  • was it just me or did the guy at the begining at 0:11 say nine asian nails cuz thats what i heard......

  • @jaetguz: dude, in Trent's own words he said that the Fragile was the lowest point in his career. You really can't argue with the man himself.

  • I really get bored with people comparing albums like this. The Fragile is very different from Downward Spiral, both are valid, both explore different terrain. If one speaks to you more than the other, fine, but this absurd competition thing just brings down music and art to the level of most other things in this country. A big jack-off fest.

  • every one of his songs is my life description mainly cause i hate people >_>

  • i like how he is wearing a marilyn manson shirt to support his protege...back in the day that is

  • hmm ok whatever.(000).

  • I love NIN i have my own solo music thing im trying and trent is my big inspiration im not the best in the world but could i have other peoples opinion on it? its at myspace /rankoffall

  • Nine Inch Nails has been on my mind for 22 years now, that sounds so wild now. I have admired and followed Trent Reznor for so many years, I hope that he lives to be 120 years old and I hope that he never changes, not for any one. What an artist what a mind, what a guy.

  • Reznor is my musical GOD!!

  • @blakeb903 Your musical god? Pfft, he is the god of music. Everywhere. For everyone.

  • this guy is my idol.

  • @ElCigaroCubano no one cares...

  • @JamesD567

there are stupider comments. someone down there posted "pretty hate machine has always been my favorite" and i said "this guy is my idol" they both express a love for the band! so dont hate. (insert insult here)

  • @ElCigaroCubano yawn...

  • @JamesD567 I do. HAH.

  • @Sam5726 no one cares except for huge nerds like Sam5726 apparently.

  • @JamesD567 :D

  • cant believe the end of this, all the things you could find out from him and u ask him if he knows britney?

  • Always thought Trent Reznor was hot, but had never heard his voice until now. He's got a real man's voice, so incredibly sexy.

  • Y.U.M!!!!!! he looks SO hot right here <3_<3 i love you Trent!!!

  • wow, never knew he was raised by his grandmother.

gives me a better perspective on his music at large.

  • 2:08 I melt

  • Trent totally introduced me to Taxi Driver via this interview. xD

  • @professormoody same here! ;-)

  • Nine Inch and Nails?

  • @mojonation1487 Yeah, who is he, Borat?

  • TRENT REZNOR PRESIDENT

  • I love his dismissive attitude towards the "You don't know, Britney or the Backstreet Boys..." question. Of course he doesn't know them, they were too busy making that "I want it that way" and "Hit me baby, one more time." bullshit.

  • Omg, I wanna climb him so bad

  • Trent Reznor es el mejor!!!

  • Hmmmm weird things... Im pretty sure i know what that means XD

  • OMG I remember watching this interview and being so excited for the Fragile to come out!! Then they played The Fragile at the awards show and I was blown away because I had never heard it before.

  • he's has come so far as a person..this was just the beginning..now he is definetely happy and still making great music!

  • QUAKE

  • Trent is a musical genius in it's purest form.

  • The Fragile is my favorite NIN album!

  • the fragile is one of the best albums of his time... it has everything...emotion, lots of energy.... and every song on this album is fucking amazing... most people dont understand

  • What kind of dumb motherfucker asks Trent Reznor if he's friends with Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys??

  • @stupidfreakyface

A dumb motherfucker I guess lol

  • People don't even realize how much of a musical genius Reznor is. He will go down as one of the best minds that music has ever seen

  • I luv everything he does!!

  • This interviewer needs to be bitch slapped

  • he is so fine.

  • /decayedmatter, " heroin adiction"? Trent has talk about his past and adictions and never talk about heroin. And yes, he has a writer´s block, preesion, the end of the frendship with Manson, the death of his grandmother, etc ... I think you don´t know what you´re talking about.

  • @sigistardust

He has actually mentioned heroin. I do believe that all the things he mentions did affect things though.

  • Comment removed

  • All of Trents excuses back then were just lies to cover up his heroin addiction methinks. Makes sense now that i go back and watch these today, back then i was young and figured he just had writers block.

  • Yeah, he is as hot as hell.

  • "Dull and cheesy music scene of the late ninetys" The late 90s was an AWESOME music scene, "dull and cheesy" would describe popular music NOW.

  • @Sundownerr IMO it wasnt dull and cheesy, but i can see where their coming from by saying that because the early 90s were the opposite of that, and you gotta remember when this interview happened, we were only 5 years removed the grunge era

  • God, I don't care if he's over 40, he is Hot!

  • Im sure Im not the only one that loved his smile at the end!

  • Trent is one of my idols and a musical god!!! XD

NIN is one of the whole reasons i'm into industrial rock/metal

  • I'm sure i saw one of the back street boys working in burger king In Birkenhead Uk. He couldn't even serve a burger without fucking up my order!

  • 2.50, which song is that ?

  • @Stizou777 the great below

  • @Stizou777 thanks :)

  • This guy is everything you would see in a normal, deep thinker. The only difference being that he's got a talent to actually turn his thoughts into a great form of music for us all to behold. Great musician.

  • Trent is the music God, each and everyone of his songs always seems to invoke some kind of wonderfully profound emotional response inside me...

  • HAHAHAHAHA at the end he's like "and you dont know britney or any of the backstreet boys"

and trent is just like "no"

but you know that in his head he wants to say "why the FUCK would I want to meet those poppy untalented pieces of SHIT"

  • @dubtr3 exactly. The music today on the radio is total shit. And none of the music is created by artists; it's all created by record producers.

  • i <3 the film taxi driver though lol.

"You talkin to me?" but extra <3 to NIN been a pleasure to see them live back in the day and own most of their albums. shame theres still some EP's i need to get, but they're the ones that were used for America's release only.

  • I recorded this on vhs when it aired. I recorded everything rock related back then. I don't have any of that stuff now though. Thanks.

  • Is it sick that i think he's hot even though hes 45?? I'm 15 XD

  • i would fuck the SHIT out of him!!! im sorri. i couldnt hold it in. xD

  • I absolutely love Trent Reznor. <3

  • 4:55 dang, Trent did not like it when that guy mentioned Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys.XD

  • God, I love Trent Reznor = )

  • the thing i love about NIN is the way they're unique but beautifully so that everyone can understand and relate to the music I don't think anyone could hate "la mer" "the frail" or "another version of the truth" those are beautiful songs if you didn't tell people they were done by a band called NIN they wouldnt believe that coz they'd think of the name being some screaming Slipknot wannabe band but they're not and that's what I love the fact that they're different but not too different.

  • to gizmo...what is a tool? a person that is a tool...what does that mean

  • God, Loder is such a fucking TOOL.

  • Ppl say the late nineties sucked musically because of one band that no one wanted...Limp Bizkit.

  • I think it's taken over a whole decade for "The Fragile" to receive the actual props it should've dserve when it was released 09-09-99.

    LOVE HIS SHIRT.

    :D

  • Interviewer is a top of the line PRICK.

  • genius, brilliant man.

  • Fuck MTV

  • Interviewer was a fucking idiot. "Oh yeah, are you friends with Britney Spears?"

  • they said that the end of the nineties sucked, that was because they wernt listening to the explosion of indie bands at that time, that came out with masterpiece works

  • I agree with you there were some great indie albums released in the late '90's. The mainstream music scene might suck (been that way for a long time) but there is always quality music coming out; you just have to look for it.

  • @Facialcream13 indie sucks man.

that's why people listen to indie because it sucks so much that they think it's this "rare" type of music.

  • @Leaderofspirestone Theres people with different tastes, you might want to try to respect that. The only thing I dont like about Indie is that I blame them for killing post-punk.

  • Yeah, WAY too personal.

  • Rock is quite broad.

  • in response to garsound, the critics absolutely LOVED the fragile. it was probably one of the most well reviewed albums of the entire decade. it failed commercially, but that had nothing to do with critics.

  • I think you have the critics mixed up with the fans. The Fragile was not as well received as previous NIN albums at the time. still a great CD. I prefer Pretty Hate Machine over all though.

  • Trent reznor is soo hot even in his forties

  • @ehcjproductions He that kinda person that's get more handsome with the years ...

  • The Fragile is the best NIN cd, and it's strange the critics didn't like it. It's a masterpiece.

  • "What am I gonna do? I'll just watch Taxi Driver again. Maybe that'll make me feel better."

Funny. Weird that I've actually thought that to myself before.

  • WTG trent! He just reminded me of Taxi Driver, if ya aint seen it you must, one of Deniro and Scorsesses best works!

  • it's kinda horrible to hear Trent talking about his grandmother and his depression and the guy immediately turning that into a "news story" - you can see the shift happening right in front of you from reality to "media-world"

  • Respect in interviews is a rare thing. Unfortunately.

  • trent meeting britney i wood definetly pay to c that

  • not a light topic interview..."well what happen huh" Manson's music videos seem like this low budget goofy shit ya know

  • theres a little travis in us all

  • "I was losing it.."

  • This interviewer is a bitch

  • trent reznor is my inspiration/hero

  • Kurt Loder is quite possibly the biggest prick ever. It seems like he finds the details of Trent's problems funny and like he's trying to make Trent even more uncomfortable about the award show, which I'm sure Trent wasn't looking forward to anyway...fuck him.

  • dude

    lighten up

  • And you're a fucktard!

  • Why you hating on trent?

  • lol now that I know he insulted Gene Simmons I like him even more

  • & you're a so called Trent fan? LoL!!

  • @soulsurvivor52784 he also said Kiss were a big influance on him growing up.

  • the really sad thing is they are doing a good bye tour now i watched it it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he has a great smile.

  • He sometimes looks like Adam Gontier from 3DG in Animal I have become

  • NIN Rock !!

  • guys guys...

what is the song at 2:45 ??

  • The Great Below (1999 - The Fragile, disc 1 Left)

  • Its The Great Below

  • Hes hot here. Most of the music Trent released ever I enjoyed. I honestly dont get tired of him.

  • did he say "nine inch and nails"? at around 0:05

  • hahah classic

  • Yes, lol.

  • i will never understand how some NIN fans don't like the fragile. The fragile is a Trent Reznor/NIN magnum opus.

  • definitely agree.absolutely incredible album.after the downward spiral,my fav nin album.trent is a genius!!!!
