  • Cheers got it. cool film...

  • Best British film since Quadrophenia

  • Does anyone know what happened to the bloke who ran off ?

  • @Ivansmith6 He ended up in the suite case.

  • sleep deprivation.. awesome

  • How did this film only get 56% on rotten tomatoes, one of the gripes being the "thick" accent?

Then again I s'pose this viewer's struggle between love and hate just proves the film's success.

  • @moles9999 Ey up!? I have that accent. This film is perfection.

  • ONE OF THE BEST FILMS AND STORY LINES OF ALL TIME

  • I agree with comment below..this is an incredibly moving film

  • amazing film.

  • i love it----half of everything was improvised ...especially paddys stuff....

    ouragoeus drug scenes shane

  • great film. really enjoyed it

  • a masterpiece - deserves many accolades

  • good film ,5 stars

  • L love Meadows films...but the man himself doesn't come over as very...well let's just say he doesn't seem to match his obvious amazing talent. He is maybe just a very modest man.

  • @weirdcitykid or just someone who doesnt let fame go to his head

  • My fav film of all time, only I wish people would give Toby Kebbell (Anthony) some credit after all Daniel Day Lewis got a Academy Award for his role in My Left Foot. Everyone seems to go on about is Paddy and Shane but I don't think people realise how sensative a role and all the little things that amount to a convincing portrayal of a mentally retarded person. Peace :o)

  • agreed its great

  • Back to basics,just fantastic.

  • A masterpiece, just, simply brilliant. Thanks to Shane Meadows, Paddy Considine and all who went to make this. Outstanding. And thanks for posting.

  • just excellant . I think weve all encountered or hung round with these nasty mean spirited lads be it on your estate or at school or in the pub and heard about some really awful things, atrocities really that have happened in our communities and have gone unpunished and thats what this film protrays so excellantly. The characters are perfect and if your from a working class background then they are just instantly recognisable. and considine is magnificent as the protagonist. CLASSIC CINEMA

  • brillant film and british!

  • Effing love this film. Filmed in my town as well :D

  • Fantastic film, one of the best british films i've ever seen. Paddy considine as the main protagonist is brilliant, great actor.

  • Favourite film. Ever.

  • nice cinematography- I, myself, am using hand-on-knowledge to start doing shorts. The problem is that I only have a small mitsubishi standard camcorder-

    Any ideas Shane-

    p.s. Great work Period- Thanx

  • super british film! if not the best

  • True, many nasty things happen in small towns. A young lad (15) hung himself a few yards from my old house cos he owed the local dealers money. No one brought to book, just left simmering. You can see how this kind of stuff could happen.

  • agreed masterpiece

  • masterpiece

  • such an amazing film!!

  • this guys talking shit

    his debut wasnt 247

it was wheres the money ronnie

    and the he did

    smalltime

  • The britisch oldboy

  • Fantastic film. I have a son with special needs whos been bullied, people are cruel and sick. The twist at the end is great. Lookforward to more of his work.

  • @thekatie40

People are evil arnt they, they deserve all they get to target someone like that. ALL they get.

  • yeah lip15, unfortunately it's becoming more common, and the laws dont work right to protect vulnerble people. peace x

  • @thekatie40 Very true, i remember the lady who killed herself and her Autistic daughter because they were being bullied. The law needs to change, people who act like that, need to be made an example of.

  • @thekatie40 My girlfriends daughter has autism and has been bullied. I empathise with you. Showing your child the love and support he needs helps an awful lot. People are cruel and sick. But remember people - like yourself - can be kind and gentle.

  • @lathesius Aww, thank you. You'll have a better understanding than moast, because of your girlfriends daughter, you can use your knowledge to educate others. :)

  • one of the best films ive ever seen

  • Its rated18. Must of watched it about a year ago on an odd night... never forgot about it.

  • yeah i keep watching the intro over and over again and telling myself it aint real. bit like the boogie man not being real...the problem is he is real.

    Some bloddy heartbbreaking scenes too.

  • are you trying to reduce your carbon emissions dad?

  • Shane Meadows seems like a cool bloke.

  • He is a nice guy. Seen him in my local pub once and he's a friendly person

  • I LOVE YOU SHANE :) I know shane meadows, he chose me to be in a comercial, the ACT ON CO2 comercials, Im the girl with bigtails :D:D x

SHANE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH :)

  • arnt you like 5 years old in that?

  • What's with the 15 certificate on the trailer? it was NOT a 15 at all...this film also had a very big affect on me as well, it is deep

  • to tell you about this film it is very very powerful and it had a very big affect on me :'(

  • Watched it 2day

  • FUCK OFF YOU CUNT!!!!!!!!!

  • the best actor has to be tony kebbell. to portray anyone with learning mental or physical abilities takes some doing !

  • yes, i think he did anthony perfectly.

  • Class Film.......

  • Best British film ever

  • Fantastic film. Up there with the best of the best for me. Great story and acting.

  • well done mr shane meadows

  • the woman at the end plays

His mum in this is england!

  • fuckin brilliant film.

  • He doesn't know exactly who killed he's brother. But he left he's brother in these peoples care (keep an eye on him) and they did exactly the opposite

  • How does Richard know who to kill? Because Antony's dead...

  • I wish he'd tell some of these stories he keeps refering to which were the inspiration for the film.

  • this man expresses himself like we all want to do i love this film directed so fly on the wall he comes from the same life as most of us and its life now scary but here

  • Watch the Shane Meadows interview from Sunday's BAFTA red carpet on our you tube channel.

  • The song on this clip is Nick Hemming / The Leisure Society - one of my musical obsessions!

  • the soundtrack for this is impossible to find in the us. its great music!

  • This is my favourite film and Paddy considine who plays Richard actually wrote the film.Simply Brilliant.

  • i agree,a dark and awesome film, but have you seen 'irreversible'?i nearly puked in horror!

  • watch seul contre tous

  • a modern day alan clarke

keep up the good work shane

    we all love you

  • this film is superb.

  • This film is by far the blackest and darkest film I've ever seen. There isn't a shred of light, or any happiness.

Not to say it's a bad film, it's fucking awesome, but so, so dark.

  • check out Romper Stomper if you want darker.

  • I've seen it mate. This to me is a lot darker.

  • watch seul contre tous, not one bit of happiness in the whole film

  • yeah,i'd like too,i've heard of it. at the same time,do i really want to put myself through it?

  • do it..you'll feel depressed afterwards though...it shows a really depressing outlook of life

  • I totally agree, this film quite distressed me for a while after viewing it...but Shane's creative vision of it obviously came from some of his life experiences

  • wat a fukn movie, really brilliant!!

  • If any body has King of the Gypsies by Shane Meadows please upload it because Bartlet Gorman was my dad's friend and I need to see it badly.

  • This is my fav Film ever....iam german and iam defo trying to get as many people to see it as possible...( SPREAD IT IN GERMANY) LOL***...not just the director is awesome....but the ACTING is unbelievable.....I LOVE IT.....

  • Amazing film.

    Almost shot like a documentary.

  • Excellent movie

  • Great Film, classic, the sequence where paddy talks with his brother on the tyres is as good as film gets, made me want to get on ebay and order a russian gas mask
