Thanks for your video. I'm with The Chesnut Light Confederate Artillery. We attend Naper most every year. Being in the re-enactment I don't get to see it as the spectators do. It's fun to see how our work looks.
Ah, you were one of the ones shooting at that poor wounded Confederate soldier trying to crawl away :-) I probably have more footage of you guys, I just edited a lot out because of the kids talking.
I'm hoping to make a video of every event we do this year, so keep checking back. Next stop, Franklin Grove.
Oh, I hope you enjoyed your first event. I've been doing it for nearly 15 years now. I will stop by your camp. I'm easy to spot, I wear brown pants that really seem to stand out. I will also be very bloody after the battle, dying from a stomach wound.
I guess it would be a western one since most of our units are western units. The biggest problem with this event is the fort which the event makes us use. We would knock it down is we leaned on it wrong. Also, an entire unit called the Missouri Gurrillas (sp?) decided that they didn't want to go out there just to die on the field, which is what the plan called for, and switched sides and then refused to go down when we fired at them.
Did I really? I even looked it up hoping I had it right, but must have written it down wrong in my email. I will go back and change that. Glad you liked the video though. It was fun putting together.

I've been looking for a video of this battle.
if you pause at 1:24, you'll see a line of naval units and sharpshooters...
from left to right:
our battalion capt, 3 sailors, a marine, flag-bearer, sharpshooter cpl, sharpshooter pvt, naval soldier, sharpshooter sgt.
I'm the SS pvt. standing in a blue keppi. :)
