  • BIG BUCK BUNNY!

  • i really like your voice...

cant you upalod a video of your self

  • i swear this program or whatever i use is so dumb..why would i want to watch a movie in letterbox with a little slit on my screen .. i get it people say the director wants you to see it how its sposed to be ..then i try to make it full screen and everybody looks skinny and distorted .. why cant it just be normal? all the setting sucks..

  • @stayhighj if in fact you are using ConvertXtoDVD I suggest writing to the vso technical support team, you can do that on the VSO Software website. They can see what original file size is and what you can do to change this.

or Try converting with automatic set....

  • very good explanation and video girl

  • thanks :P

  • is there a free trail for this program?

  • will you marry me?

  • haha !!

  • this is the only software I use for converting. Its good stuff!

  • I was wondering which one is the best if you were to put in subtitles, because sometimes the subtitles gets cut off :S ?

  • what is the format of your subtitles?

Have you tried watching the end result on your computer to see if it is the same as when played on your DVD player?

  • srt files .. ?

& they always play fine on computer, but when they were played on DVD player they go to full screen and the subtitles gets cut off :S

  • if you DVD plays fine on your computer then try to change the settings of your DVD player.

  • I have a 720p video file, 1280x720, but after I convert it using this program, it turns smaller than before. How come it becomes that way? Does that mean my video file got cropped? Does it retain the HD quality of my video file, as well as its real resolution? I think it becomes Full D1 after it converts.

  • DVD standard doesn't support the HD format, so for sure, it is downscaled to DVD ( Full D1 is one resolution possible )

  • DVD standard allows only in full resolution : 720x576 (PAL DVD) and 720x480 (NTSC DVD)

  • i have a rlly old tv (like idk from like 2000) and the video was cut off from all sides, and adding black bars helped fix the problem

  • that was a great tutorial, thanx a lot, your are one of the greatest!!!

  • thanks very much

  • Great tutorial! I was definately having issues with the tv cutting out some of the video. I was wondering though, is there some way to resize all the videos added at once? It gets a little annoying resizing them one at a time.

  • if you go into the settings / tab "video processing"

you can select the video resize method for all your videos.

There are not all the fine tuning possibilities there though, that has to be done video by video.

  • I was wondering after you resize how do you make the subtitles fit the new aspect ratio.

  • you should discuss this question in the vso forum, it will be more technical to cover the question. basically it is automatic, but it depends on the subtitle file format.

  • Ok you helped a little bit. But one movie I downloaded screen didnt show the same on my dvd like on my computer. Sometimes the pic was the regular size like on the computer, then changes to a smaller size. Then sometimes it opens back up(this is top and bottom, not left and right). I was thinking convert added black bars on top and bottom sometimes, but I want it to be the exact way I downloaded it

  • what is the original dimensions of the video file?

  • :O that was actually useful

    thank you :)

  • thank you for the comments!

  • hi there i have used several versions of convertxtodvd and am using the same version on the video. the prob i have is even when i pad the screen to full top and bottom to remove black bars they still apear on the dvd but the earlier convertx managed to remove them also the quality is affected from the original, when i play the avi against the dvd copy there is a difference in quality where the earlier software did not do this. is it me???

  • you seem to be reporting back different probles. For the black bars problem have you tried watching the burnt DVD on your computer? are the bars there?

Try setting the quality to medium to see if you get better quality on the output. The setting you chose really depends on the length of the file.

For more accurate help, I suggest writing to vso technical support team where your file log and be analysed.

  • thanks for the reply much appreciated when i watch it on my pc the picture has black bars all around it??? also i now have a problem with the sound it out of sync when i convert?? help

  • what settings are you using? Have you tried automatic or letter box?

Are you sure the original is in sync? The lasted version does have some audio video sync issues I can provide you with a previous version if your write directly to our support team.

  • once again thnx for reply, i have tried all the settings and they all cut quite a size off each end so i stick with user settings pad each side to 28 to be able to get the whole picture, its just the black bars top and bottom i cant seem to get rid of, my tv can compensate but it reduces the clarity of the pic which aint good,

The sync prob was my fault the orig was out of sync, but it is a problem i have had before but not with this version im using now.

    cheers..

  • Ok I glad to hear you have figured out the audio/video sync issue.

What version are you currently using, what version were you using. Please contact us directly as if this case is true for you, we would like to reproduce and correct it, we would need the original file to test with.

  • what is the tv model ?

  • also I have a brand new tv yet it has the problem.

  • i kinda wanted to resize function but not the rest of the bs, I want the AVI to remain a AVI after I have removed the black bars or go it to stop the overscan. . . is this possible?

  • no it isn't possible as the purpose of the program is to convert and burn to DVD format to ensure the best compatibility. However a quick live support session and we could set together the appropriate settings to make it works like you need.

  • Thanks great review
