Fantastic job -- well played! I really like seeing the guitar backup so clearly displayed-- a real treat! Backing up Celtic music has always seemed like a black art to me -- esp. when you watch someone like John Doyle -- you do the same style but you make it clear in your video -- BRAVO! 5 stars.
The tune is great, and the accompaniment with that unique chord usage makes the version of the song. Wonderful. Ross USMC and I both think the song is great, and we love to play it together.
You should put 3 or 4 Irish tunes together so it doesn't sound like a broken record. Sure would sound nice! You do a great job, you just need some variety.
we play "Tripping Up the Stairs" after this tune when we play out and about, they sound good together. You are right, playing tunes together do make it more interesting.
We play it in F using an E formation and play with modified E formations up the fret board. Rich is playing a new F-Bb-Eb Hohner. This is the first time we have played the tune in this fashion and we liked it so much we posted it. Thanks for the comment!
gud job lads

Very cool chord choice and unique strumming pattern on the guitar! It really gave this classic tune a little something extra. Nice job, guys!

Godd stuff. I see you played it lower than usual (C# I think) as opposed to the original key of D. It gives the tune a whole different shape.
