Absolutely superb! The great, and eternally remembered, Bill Cullen and Don Pardo. Simply amazing. Thank you for finding this precious video and for taking the time to post it.
NBC, Don Pardo, Bill Cullen, contestant coordinator Edythe Chan, creator/producer Bob Stewart, and one of the original directors Mike Gargiulo (the other was Paul Alter, who went to L.A. with TNPIR) were reunited in 1971 for NBC' "Three on a Match."
@johnorydupont - I always enjoyed watching Bill Cullen (on TV game shows) and Gordon Solie (on Championship Wrestling From Florida.) Both of these guys were the best in their fields. :D
When Drew Carey first appeared on TV in the early '90's, he seemed so anomalous in the context of what was going on at the time, I couldn't imagine where he'd come from. Now that I've seen Bill Cullen here (and, damn me, I'm old enough that I should have made this connection) I think I get it, plus why he is so naturally confortable as Bob Barker's successor on THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
I believe the reason he couldn't move with the show is because Don has a lifetime contract with NBC, which he is still on to this date. When the show moved to ABC, Johnny Gilbert, the current voice of "Jeopardy!", took over. On the same subject, Don Pardo would later announce the original "Jeopardy!" for 11 years.
Mr. Pardo also, over the years, did live booth announcing work in different time shifts (daytime, nighttime to sign-off, etc.) for NBC O&O WNBC-TV in New York, as well as his numerous radio and TV credits. One clip on here, from 1980, had him doing the pre-sign-off newscast

Actually what NBC put in Price's place (Fridays at 9:30 PM Eastern) was a sitcom called "Harry's Girls".

Wow, you're right! On this ONE episode out of a show that aired six times a week for nine years, there are only white people.

@AdamNedeff Yeah, isn't it moronic how some nimrod ALWAYS has to point that out?

@TheIrocube ummm...most of TV and movies are STILL like that. What's the big deal? I really don't get how this is much different. Really.

And what did NBC put in Price Is Right's time slot that fall? Shindig! Live and learn.

I'd swear Bill Cullen was separated at birth from legendary wrestling announcer Gordon Solie.

I'm delighted that somebody else noticed those guys looked exactly alike in their later years.

@johnorydupont He really does look a lot like the Mad Magazine caricatures of him. That's sad.

OOPS! I just saw some footage of Dave Garroway on the original TODAY show. I stand corrected. Here, indeed, is the genesis of Drew Carey.

Bill Cullen was the original host in the 1950s and 1960s. Funny dude! Classic kinescope clip with NBC announcer Don Pardo in his younger days.
