because the colossus have a fragment in there bodies there is one in each colossus there are 16 colossus 16 fragments and those vine is the fragment entering your body and exiting when back at the temple

I hope the game gets better after the first 2 colossi, because it's boring as hell. Ico is way better so far, and ironically, I was thinking of skipping Ico because I read that it's just too dated and not as good now. I thought it was pretty decent, and I'm picky. But ya SOTC is failing so far, as all you do is climb an enemy, hold on, stab, hold on, stab, etc.

@heypunkhey Because those tendrils contains the essence of a demon that plagued the land but was defeated. The Colossi were created to contain the pieces and thus keep the land safe. Each time you kill a Colossus, the evil demon will manifest himself in the main character and distort his appearance more and more.

I noticed when you were hiding in the "tunnel" at the start of the fight when he yelled for Agro his voice sounds a lot more desperate than normal. Like he's saying "Agro get the fuck away from there and come to me!!"

Trust me, it's anything but easy. I'm playing through it for the first time as we speak, and I'm at the boss in this video right now. The bosses usually take me about 20-40 minutes to defeat, since they keep trying to throw you off and whatnot.

@sydiesaur I agree. When it comes to killing such colossi like Cenobia or Dirge (i.e. they attack first), you are only retaliating towards them and feel little remorse for what you are doing. But when you are the first to strike against colossi like Avion and Phaedra (i.e. docile colossi), it really makes you feel sad to be killing something so amazing and beautiful
