That third variation lacked clarity and he missed the interpolated "high F" at the end.

The high F (12th partial 1st position) is not in the original score and was instead added by the likes of Christian Lindberg and Joe Alessi because they felt like it. If he has an older version of the score, then he didn't miss it, it's not written for him.

I do agree that the clarity is sometimes lacking.

Can't you tell he's a salvo? That sound is unmistakable. Waaaaa Waaaaa Waaaa Waaaaaahhhh. Brass bands should sound nicer, and so should the theme here. Dynamics much? Meh. Tough solo though. We all do it differently!

i like the contrabass trombone it sort of sounds like the one that the soloist is playing (but deeper pitched note)

I love the offhand appearance of this Trombonist. It seems he is just throwing the slide around at random, and his body language is almost comical. Oh, and he plays real good too!

This is one of my favorite trombone solos besides david's concertino, which i played on euphonium for a solo competition. Such a good song, and playted very well by him, i got confused from the middle to the end because the music didnt match up with the trombonist, but it was still amaazing!

the trombonist is amazing! this is one of my fav. trombone classical solos. too bad the video sucks as the sound is much faster than the video =/
