  • On the island when two bombs were set off. My job was to install the igniters in the data rockets. A spooky time.

  • This is exactly why we have never been to the moon. What happens to radiation in space? Does it move? Does it go away? Is it subject to the solar winds? How much radiation is in space exactly? How come you can never get a straight answer from anywhere regarding how much gamma radiation is in space? There is lethal radiation in space and it starts at about 450 miles in space. You won't make it to 50,000 before your dead. It's a suicide mission and NASA knows it. That why we aint been back.

  • Why did they not use humans to see blindness effects of high altitude bursts?

There were plenty of communisty sympathizers that could have been used, or criminals........

The atrocities that were carried out back the in days both to the planet and to animals/people, are sickening.

People wonder why things are messed up nowadays, well all you have to do is watch the declasiffied films, and you'll have the answer.

Also I wish to thank all the scientists of the time: NOT!

  • Nowadays there are non-nuclear EMP bombs which makes them much much more dangerous because of they don't have the side effects of nuclear detonation, which makes the person (or persons) who has this technology wants to use them in the event of war.

  • @Ghostwolfalpha Non nuclear EMP bombs are no way near as dangerous as nuclear bombs. Nuclear bombs have the potential to destroy all humanity non nuclear EMP bombs have the potential to cause localise and repairable damage to electrical components in a very small area.

Also an attacking forces options for taking out infrastructure are either explosive or EMP I know which one I would rather be on the receiving end of.

  • This is prime data for those interested in the EMP question. Looks like we're being set up to pre-emptively strike Iran, basically, since the Gingrich and Forstchen data is being hyped like crazy and appears from this data to be false. I mean look for yourself. Better save a copy.

  • The film itself cautions the viewer not to extrapolate the test results in an attempt to reach conclusions not supported by the data.

Also note the limited size of the test devices. Any modern portable nuclear warhead would be much more powerful than the <5 megaton bombs used in these tests.

You might benefit from further research on EMP and its clear and present danger to our infrastructure.

  • @ironhorzmn No, modern weapons are smaller in yield. The largest warheads deployed on US missiles are the 300kt (.3Mt) W87 and the 475kt (.475Mt) W88 deployed on Minuteman III ICBMs and Trident II D5 SLBMs. Russian missiles carry slightly larger warheads to account for their lower accuracy excepting the very large 20-25Mt SS-18 warheads for ICBM LCCs. If you're talking truly portable weapons, the yields are much, much lower (~10kt).

  • @Nater245689

    Carpet bombing, baby.

  • What was done during the arms race...........

  • hmmm, well , rockets are cool I guess..
