the tragedy they are talking about is roskilde where at a pearl jam concert a few fans got crushed , and i believe at least one died. Mccready is a very talented guitar player by the way.

I know Pearl Jam is recognized as one the best bands, probably best of the 90's. Eddie is also acclaimed for his lyrics. Jeff is pretty well-known for his bass playing too.
But why aren't Mike & Stone ever considered great guitarists. Even Rolling Stone mag didn't list them in their top 100 greatest guitarists a few years back.

Rolling Stone magazine is a piece of shit is probably why. I may be bias but i think every PJ fan or music fan in general can appreciate how good Mike and Stone are both individually and especially playing together. The band couldn;t give two shits what some shitty mag says and nor could I, they play for their fans and not to score brownie points and that's why they are the greatest band in the world!!!

in 2000 pearl jam played a festival where some people died and others were injured. leeds/reading were the first festivals they played since then
