After the third lesson I'm still puzzled as to how one determines which protocol to use. There are six. How would I know whether to use HTML, XHTML, and then which subclass of either of those: strict, transitional, or frameset????
You can do a Google search for HTML vs XHTML. You will find pros and cons for each. I have been using XHTML. As for strict, transitional, and frameset, the choice is fairly straight forward. Frameset is relatively rare and is used for the special case of displaying multiple web pages in a single browser window. Strict and transitional are more common. If you're sure you will NOT be using deprecated elements or attributes then use strict. Otherwise use transitional. I use transitional.
I just wanted to say thank you. For some odd reason I wanted to learn html and after getting annoyed at listening to little kids say, "Ummm" every other word I have found your videos. *starts a slow clap*
what is the difference between XHTML and HTML?
Does it matter which one i use?

Very nice videos, thank you for putting them up. Just a small point, "deprecated" is not "depreciated" - see wikipedia

thanx, this is very helpful.
i was wondering, is html ONLY used for designing websites?
i am not interested in doing that if not needed.
if that is the only or main purpose ill just keep going anyway.
