Keith wrote this song and recorded it but later decided to let Matthew Ward record it for release. It is on Matthew Ward's first album, a great album by the way, called 'Toward Eternity'. He and his sisters (2nd Chapter of Acts) can be heard singing in the background.
This is an awesome song! I love to hear Keith Green's songs. I remember back in the 70's hearing him on the radio! He music is so exciting to hear! He was a true Christ follower!
I knew Keith Green had written this song, but I'd only heard the Matthew Ward version on his "Toward Eternity" album. It's really great to hear Keith sing it. Thanks for posting!
Ive read No Compromise several times and have listened to his music for years. I wish more people knew about Keith. You can tell them by their fruits, and Keith's fruits were beautiful and ripe. May the Lord Bless all who hear his messages. Also Read Keith's book called "A Cry in The Wilderness". Great read...would recommend it to anyone.
@LadyWortham thats because it is... they all were really good friends... 2nd chapter, randy stonehill, keith green, and others.... really interesting to learn...
FYI for anyone interested. This song was covered in '79 by Matthew Ward on his Toward Eternity album. He sang two other KG songs as well (Summer Snow and Gotta Do Better Than This) Keith also played piano on the album.
Yeah this is a great song. I have the Live Experience and the one with this song and He'll Take of The Rest (also live). I returned to the faith in Nov 2003. I'm 25 now.
I have some Keith Green concert recordings on my page if you wanna check those out. It's from The Daisy 1976.
this one does not sound like the rest of his music

Per your request, the "unsure" line is:
"My whole life was leadin' to the day you came around (rather than "My whole life was bleedin* till the day you came around" as it is listed here).
Hope that helps.
