Here are some tips. the holy dps idea at 70 was. Keep holy fire dot up and make sure u got SWP up at all times. as NE keep ur free dot up too. Rest of time spam smite and keep shadow word death on cooldown. Btw go get hitrating u fail on bosses big time. I had 1500 dps with ur kind of gear up to 2k with later gear.

you spec hybrid disc.holy with points in your holy dmg tree with reduction to smite cast time and the other that gives 50% chance too get a free smite or flash heal after a crit.....the you gear up like a mage for more crit so you get more free smites

I would suggest not doing it unless you are 70-80 because in order to be viable you need to have about 30 points in each tree, ( When i am spec'd this way its 41/30 disc holy, you need it for the stam, int, and spirit buffs as well as pain suppression, reflective shield power infusion for disc and you want the 5/5 spirit gain in the holy tree with spirit of redemp to max out your spirit and you still need enough to get the 50% free smite, i think the minimum is with 34/27 or 33/28 at 70

leveled the same way till lvl 50 then I specced shadow and it was even faster.

way to lvl imo = 3 points in spirit tap, then 13 points in disc to reach and max up meditation... then all points in holy dps talents... thats the way to go till lvl 50... after that shadow is the way to go...

Before the expansion 33/28 is still the smite spec to roll.

You can look up Rhaegon on Cho'gal if you want to see the basic idea.

Its not good in arena as dps, but it works well in BGs.

Of course you can move non-damage talents around to get more healing, or survivability depending on if you PVP or PVE.

Also Armory seems to show my stats PRE 3.0 when I was raiding Shadow, so.. Basically go down Holy far enough for Surge of Light grabbing Spirit of redemtion (The +5 spirit is great) and all + damage talents.

Then go down Disc far enough to get Power infusion grabbing Enlightenment and ImpDS for the + spirit.

around 13k mana gives you buffed about 250 mp5 (sounds more like a healer d'oh ?) the T5 2pcs bonus helps alot too, don't worry mana is a beginners problem. Even with manaburn on yo you can still dps alot, holynova rank 1 spammed into some mobs and/or party members gets you a freecast depending on your critrating more or less often.

this is maybe a fun spec ..its totaly impossible that u out dps 78%(?) of the raid as my mage with a gear a bit weaker than yours (1050dmg 35crit 134hit fire mage)do uncrit around 3.3k in raid(fireball is 3sec cast) and when boss go under 20% health i do 20%more dmg (around 4k) + fire mage crit (as holy priest) do +50% dmg(from 100 uncrit to 150 crit) but fire mage when they crit have ignite (40% of total dmg dealt by the spell over 4sec) u have nothing except chance of geting instantspell. weak

I havnt played wow in quite some time, But while I was playing on my toon Reihai I gathered some decent smite gear. I can honestly say that durring pvp, instances, and raids I out dps'd 78% of anyone in any situation.I admit that surge of light isnt as effective as other crit based talents for dps, but none the less if you get your crit high enough your mana efficiency gets good enough for raiding situations. The only thing that requres a change in smiting would be long boss battles.

Its not a new spec, its just a very rare or for laughs spec priest can use for dps instead of shadow. Smites that cast very fast with a good chance for getting a free instant cast on smite.

what dps u got? i got 1300~1600~ when we're killin one boss like gruul. some shammies/mages/dps warrs have better dps, but no smite priests. i have seen only holy, sometimes spriests in 25ppl raids. SW-pain hits for 700 every sec? Arcane blast crits for around 5k, castind tine 1.3 sec (spell haste) so this is big dps. in takes more mana but gives insane dps

please try a mage in raids. or destruction lock. thats big dps, thats big ctits... i didnt play lock, but for my mage normal crit in raids with fireball - about 5-6k + ingite (80% of dmg in 4 seconds)(i wear tier4-5 and green bracers of the Invoker =)), and critchance is 38%, spell haste rating + heroism + everything i wrote = OMFG goooood dps

Smite Priests give nothing to a raid.Very Low DPS and no support. Shadow Priest are only taken to raids for VT so brigning a "smite" priest to a raid is just a waste of a spot. Why would you bring a smite priest when you could get a warlock who would do 500 more DPS ?

Something you guys don't understand. Its not HER damage that is good, its the damage of her RAID that SUCKS. Anyone can top the meter of a guild that sucks. I've seen the WWS log where locks were doing 700 dps in SSC. Cmon. Our locks do 1.5k dps. She'd be at the bottom in my guild mate.
