I'd also like to add that most people cannot say they understand Frank if they have not listened to all of his music and heard all of his interviews. He constantly updates his belief system cus he believes in change. If you are stubborn to change then your mind will hit a wall and you won't adapt any further than when you stopped thinking. What you should do is think about all consequences based on personal experience and drift away from a bias hypothesis.
The real problem lies not just with the government but with the old fashion parents who don't believe in change aka conservatives. Frank called himself "conservative" but I don't think he is at all conservative (by today's standards at least.) Frank is somewhat liberal, although I wouldn't pin him down as anything. Frank's philosophy does not fit into any group, he leans to no side. People may want him to be something he isn't, he is merely stand's by what he believes in.
Frank at 3:15 - A conservative. A real conservative. Screw religion, babies, censorship, hetero-only, white-only, english-only, clean & neat virtues of bullshit. He was also pro environment, would not have been a global warming "hoax" pusher today, nor a birther, nor a big oil or corporate fascist. He was FREEDOM. A libertarian. What has conservatism become today? Palin, Bachman, bibles and babies...uptight and unsexual...basically today's conservative is the dude sitting next to Frank!
When you see the dialectic being played, you should assume that ruling power desires the worst of both sides:
In 1986 there were dozens of major media companies...now there are four companies who control 95% of what the public sees and hears which is largely trivia and trash to keep them stupid and base and easily controlled.
neothomist name the 4, Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC are all different companies, CNN is also separate from the others I believe, in terms of ownership. The major newspapers are not all owned by the companies that own those tv stations. Also C-span provides unfiltered unbiased news and information to the public, and is the most neutral thing we've ever had in America. Also PBS provides another source of news. News magazines also are not all owned by the same people who own those tv stations.
@neothomist1275 The internet is pretty free for people to be fed underground information. If you migrate to those big corporations then that's your own fault. There are plenty of sites online that fight against popular believe and are pro-anarchy. Look at Anonymous, they are taking things into their own hand and risk messing with big corporations for a laugh. The world has "walls" that you can climb over if you are willing to do so. Change is always possible.

Hmph, 'Amen' was what I was going to say.
Leave free speech alone.

free speech is free speech. if you let a regime censor one form of speech, it will have its foot in the door for censoring any speech it wants.
