It's an off-camber corner notorious for highsides - I doubt very much he was anywhere near the rear brake - more likely on the power with big heavy monkey paws!

he had a high side fall, and that's the WORST way to fall. low side hardly hurts if you have gear...your just sliding on the pavement. If you high side then your body slams against the ground

Likely broken collar bones. He took a shoulder impact, and it only takes a couple of pounds of force transmitted through the shoulders to snap the suckers. Not as bad as landing on the neck or head, but still not fun.

I think if the rider had just kept the throttle pinned he would of been fine,the rear end slide doesn't look too extreme, I'm quite certain either Vidal or myself could of saved it

idk...rear tire was pretty far out on both sides before it threw him off. you both may have been able to do get out of it, but you just don't know until you are in that situation. I ride an 89 honda 250 and it is great but doesn't have the power for me to worry as much with high siding. liter bikes are just plain touchy!!

it's just called a "highside" mate what happens is... the back wheel snaps out and the rider opens the throttle to bring the wheel back in but, if the bikes throttled to much it snaps back the other way, flicking the rider off.
