Don't get me wrong. I'm a true blue atheist and all that but this debate seems a little unfair. Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens, two of the brightest minds of their generation, versus Anne Witticome (sp?) and a priest who doesn't seem to have a full grasp of the language he's forced to argue in. Why can't they get in some of those Christians who can form an intelligent argument, like the Archbishop of Canterbury.
@Surells Because Christianty PREVENTS an intelligent argument. The Archibishop of Canterbury is hardly qualified when he actually said that floods in Ireland were punishment for homosexuality.
"Intelligent Christian argument" is an oxymoronic statement.
@Surells They do, actually. The greatest minds of Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity have stood before Christopher and are in turn, one after another, laid waste. There is a reason for this. In the simplest terms, it is this: men like Christopher, Stephen Fry, Richard Dawkins and the modern day active atheists are men of books. Men like "His Grace" (I loathe titles, sorry) are men of one book. Therein lies the reason why men and women like Ann and the Archbishop stand no chance.
My English is not very well, but did he say that Jan Hus was burnt in Prague? Because he wasn´t, it was in Konstanz in Germany (don´t know the English name for that town...). Although he has a statue on the Old Town Square so maybe that´s where the confusion has come from.
@garrett2067 mmmmmmmm.... I like your idea.

Hitchens begins by wooing the female moderator in front of the entire audience, like a boss.

Points of View
Bishop: chrsitianity is awesome we need more of it
Witch: You should be on your knees thanking us for what we did
Hitchens: Fuck you, religion is evil, for example...
Fry: Wish i could argue for it once, but right now it has to repent for its attrocities

Better than edited version. Thank goodness I don't have to listen to the bishops speech, which was snooze worthy.
