  • is your progression at 1:32 from an actual song? its great

  • @JoelRorsethOfficial Thanks, it's the chord progression of an acoustic guitar solo piece of mine called "Fairy Tale". It's on YouTube.

  • his glasses match his guitar!

  • I haven't had a go of one of these things yet, they look very impressive, but I heard a guy playing one in a shop and I have seen a few videos and I have to get one thing straight "nothing will ever replace a proper tube amp in sound...nothing" I have tried all these gizmo's and they all remind me of my old Zoom 505.

  • What people just dont seem to understand is that the Axe Fx while sounds amazing Live, Also pulls it's weight in the studio as well. Thats the difference. it's not just another Amp sim, its a real piece of studio equipment. Sounds amazing directly put into the mix without having to Mic and do everything, And It sounds great mic'ed lol. Whats the differance btween a 2k PC and a 500 dollar one? They both surf the web but it's what you need it for.

  • sorry, a novice here. But will the Axe FX unit eliminate the need for other units such as distortion and delay pedals? and what is an adaquate or ideal amp will i need? Thanks!

  • How about using it with a bass?

  • This video is my go-to promotion I send people when I begin to explain the pure genius that AxeFX is. Peter, you're awesome.

  • I'll trade you an axe fx for the glasses.

  • Let's face it: some Germans are cool.

  • @CusterFlux Dude, all Germans are cool.

Well, most of them anyways, some of them are just Deutschbags.

  • Stop looking at us!!

  • I started smiling when you started playing Holdsworth's material, you're good

  • jetzt nochmal in deutsch bitte :) :D

  • Very nice playing!

  • hehehe I love your frames ... great video too thanks!

  • so does that thing plug into my (amp) head, directly into the cab, just into a computer...? i'm pretty unfamiliar with this thing. i can't really tell how you have it hooked up.

  • His glasses...

  • Great demo! The Holdsworth examples were AWESOME!

  • $2600! WOW! I could get 3 Eleven Racks :-) This unit sounds great but so does ER. I guess that's just up to the player.

  • Excellent demo. And your set up looks very efficient and small. Love it!

  • @ $2,600?no thanks,I'll stick with my real mesa recto.

  • nhice chap and a nhice phresentashion....

(his accent makes this look and sound like a Britcom sketch)

Fine equipment but... I strongly recommend going 'clean.'

Quit all FX ... you'll know what you're worth.

  • Coolest German man ever.

  • A real retard looking guitarist.

  • i wish there was an Axe Fx app for idevices

  • Hey, i've been curious, what exact models of GK cabinets are those?? I realize you replaced the speakers to EVs, but I wanna find the cabs also and do the same, they look perfect.. One looks like a 112MBX, but the other bigger one?

  • @Snownote I really don't remember. I sold the cabinets because the Axe-Fx speaker sims became better and better. Now I play the Axe-Fx directly into the board or I use 2 AER Acousticubes. Sounds awesome. See my new video "Axe-Fx & MFC101 English Demo 2010 by Peter Autschbach"

  • how much does an Axe-FX + Floorboard cost? like 3k?

  • Oh my goodness. 1:32 Sexiest thing I have pretty much ever heard on clean guitar. Tone and chords combine!

  • Just winding you up with my silly jokes bro! I think you;ve sone a real good demo compared to the other muppets on the tube who dont know anything but overdrives ,,but you showed the flexiblity and versatility of the box bro! well done!

  • PLease please don't turn your head away from the camera ..keep it there and yes! keep the nodding on the beat ..you;re so cute ,..hahahahahah!

  • Love how he says Wah-Wah at 6:09

  • "Hi! I'm Peter from Guit..." Oh wait!

  • Do you know if they do the AXE FX in "YELLOW"???

  • hmm... how can I come up with 2000 bucks?

  • it sounds like 80's to me

  • It didn't matter what he said.... All I heard was "Wayne's World, Wayne's World, party time, excellent!!".

  • Welcome BACK Digitech 2101! Here wo go again! Cant we just put these things away once and for all? Guess not......

  • I honestly cannot thank you enough for demoing more sounds than just palm-muted death chugs that *every* other Axe FX video on the web has. I can now rest easy knowing that it can do stuff other than metal. Very good video.

  • 03:37 is epic.

  • what's the name of the song at 4:19?

  • @sinanburak it's not yet a song, just a riff that came to my mind...

  • @HotImprovisor haha man you definitely look like you remember the 80's bro!

  • I hate his glasses O_O, but I'm very interested in this amp. I love how he looks at the camera like "do you see! this shit rocks!?"

  • i have this its great, oh no, no i dont, nnnn-n-n-nn-n no

  • Just plug and go lol and he didn't display the well known djent tone a lot of bands use. Born of Osiris uses it on their new album.

  • Im sorry for the dumb question, but how does this preamp works?? Do I just plug it directly to my amp, Do I need something else besides my amp??. Sorry for my lack of knowledge :P

  • Is it just me or does it sound solid state to anyone else? I'm not getting the warmth from this thing. perhaps it's just me being cynical!

  • @123hero321 I'm not having a go at it, it does seem incredibly versatile! I just don't know, perhaps it's all in my brain, it sounds processed to me. the best moddler I have ever heard though. Would I ditch my head and rack for it..... hmmmmmmm.... no. Would I like to have every permutation in one box, yes. If it had a valve in it, I reckon it could spell the end for most amps.

  • you should see zazzle/guitars for some REAL guitar fractals!

  • Your Glasses suit your guitar :) Nice demo too!

  • what's the song at 2:02

Keeps coming back to me but I can't place it. sounds a bit Stinglike, but I don't think it's him.

  • Comment removed

  • @SquishedButterfly Sounds like Every Breath You Takes, from Sting's old band The Police

  • @SquishedButterfly That's Bubble Shuffle by Larry Carlton

  • @relsi1 thanks. great track too. I'd never heard of him, but then I've never heard of most people.

  • sweet home alabama sounds better than the original.

the tortuous thing for me is that I could afford one of these beasts, but am blind so can't use any of the LCD based stuff available today. I'm a bit resentful of the whole menu based effects development of recent years. Hopefully manufacturers will start thinking about all the blind musicians out there, and make modern technology accesible to us.

for now I'll have to continue to twiddle knobs.

  • 3:00 What song is that?

  • @samuxxn "Metal Fatigue" by Allan Holdsworth

  • Your playing reminds me of Frank Gambale.

  • i almost shit myself when i heard the jazzy one at 2:38! so refreshing!

  • I wish my name was Peter Autschbach

  • Nice one :-) Very convincing, man. And I like the sound of your cuntz guitar - just for info: Seymour Duncan's JB is NOT a Jeff Beck pick up, but means "jazz & blues", since Jeff Beck is a Fender endorser and has never ever played with SD pick ups...cheers..!

  • Sounds great man. Great video. Terrible glasses lol

  • Great review and awesome tone! Thanks so much!

  • alter bist du am ablesen? xD

  • @wolfman109h Besser ablesen als ableben ;-)

  • omg!!! nice!!!!!!!

  • Excellent video. Thanks.

  • @shreddernuo I have sold the 2101 now. But that thing is still awesome and was way ahead of it's time. But man, the ax fx? SICK!

  • He's... always... looking... at you...

  • So is it possible to run the Axe FX through a recording program directly into the computer to record?

  • Can I plug this directly into my marshall cabinet and use it as a head? And will it go loud? Please tell me! This is the only thing that is stopping me from getting it

  • @cfmetal No, You will need to buy a power amp to run this into a cab. it goes Preamp (axe FX) ---->Poweramp--->cab

  • @roadifier

Thank you! now, can any poweramp connect to my marshall cabinet? Or must I be specific about that?

I'm looking at the Crown XLS1000 DriveCore Series Power Amp. I'm not sure if this will do.

  • @roadifier is there a way of running it into the power amp of another head?

  • @rickyjshiznit yes, If your amp has a series FX loop, you can run the preamp out into the fx return of the loop. but your amp has to have a series loop for this to work. Don't try to run the preamp into the front of the amp, It wont sound so good, since it is running one preamp into another. Hope this helps :)

  • @roadifier so it wouldnt damage my amp to have nothing plugged into the send of the fx loop but have axe fx going into the return?

  • @rickyjshiznit it wouldn't damage your amp. I use this method with some of my amps and it works perfectly.

  • 1:42 "hallo here ist mein shoe, i forgot mein sandals"

  • The accent

  • I MUST get an axe-fx ultra >_____<! i'll sell my girlfriend on ebay and buy the machine

  • Does this come with any pedals to switch back and forth sounds?

  • @TurdFurgusonABF No, the MFC101 pedal is not included in the price.

  • i dont know effects and guitar equip all to well. wat exactly is this axe fx thing and wat does it do.

  • @schecter707 It might help to watch the video ;-)

  • @HotImprovisor do you even need a head or can you hook up the axe fx straight to a cab?

  • @schecter707 It has to be an active cab because the Axe-Fx doesn't have a built-in Poweramp.

  • 1:32-1:55- totally Holdsworth

  • I'm curious though, I haven't seen anyone do any patch changes in the middle of playing, is their some type of lag when switching tones? On an amp if you hit the channel switch it immediately will be on the other channel, does the axe fx have any noticeable delay when switching tones like some lesser guitar processing units?

  • @opiv6 look up tosin abasi wave of babies it shows him switching tones using this a few times with no lag

  • your english is better than mine, but i like the way you say Axe Fx, " Ehxefhex"

  • Are you able to plug this into a marshall jcm 2000 say? Or would this colour the tone form the amp too much?

  • What kind of expression pedal are you using?

  • @luccbl Yamaha FC9

  • I NEED ONE OF THESES! how much do they go for?

  • do you think this thing would sound good used with a power amp ran through a 4x12 cab for live purposes???

  • @bluejohn127 yes it would, if you globally turn the speaker simulation off.

  • Excellent demo! You really showed the huge range of tones this unit can handle. I do have a question though, I see in the vid you are running the Axe-FX into a Marshall power amp and as explained into two 1x12 cabs. Is it also possible to run the Axe-FX with active monitor loudspeakers without an amplifier in between?

  • @voodoochild0403 Sure, this is what I do now. Sounds great...

  • that metal fatigue tone is spot on O_O

  • 2,300 usd on ebay...oh lord. with that money i can buy boss factory on japan.

  • Better than "guitar world" 's demo for shure!!

  • love your videos man. maybe when I hit the lotto, I'll buy an ax fx, for now i'll stick with my trusty Digitch gsp2101.

  • I just bought a new engl E315 gigmaster head a few months ago, wish i had seen this video before, now i want an Axe-Fx Ultra >_<

  • awesome demo! nice Holdsworth covers too!

  • I love how the one amp model is called "Sold 100"

  • Is the ULTRA unit worth the price? I guess it is a FAQ but, anyway, thank you.

  • @bonuzround I think it is, it has better reverb sounds and you can add more effects at a time. But it depends on what you want to do with the unit. The standard amp and cab sounds are exactly the same...

  • @HotImprovisor Thank you very much. I am going with the STANDARD unit.

  • @bonuzround

The main advantages of the ULTRA (as far as I'm concerned) are the synth sounds which might be fun to play around with and the on board compressor. For my money, those are the only things I would have liked from the ULTRA so I went with the standard and it's brilliant. There's no way you'd need the added processing speed of the UTRA (which I would assume accounts for most of its higher price tag).

  • how much baby ?

  • hmm another little fizz box and another stupid price crank up a marshall you know you want to ;)

  • So can I use a Volume Pedal to control Wah and Whammy and any other effects?

  • @meatballllll yes, you can. See my new English video (video-response), I played the Wah there...

  • Stop slapping your knee! xD Great demo though, love your guitar and tones, not to mention your playing.

  • @MattWilson02 Hi Matt, I think I did the kneeslapping accidentally while concentrating on what I wanted to say next. Yes, it looks weird and I didn't do it in my last videos. Check out my new English AxeFx Video (see video response). No more kneeslapping ;-)

  • @HotImprovisor Don't worry I already have hah, You have a great channel! Thanks for sharing this amazing unit with us. I only I had one now...

  • hello...do i need to use a power amp or it's possible to connect it directly into a cab?

    thanx

  • Excellent. I WANT ONE.

  • That is the most pure tone I've heard in a long time. Great job bro. You've convinced me to buy one :)

  • Epic, but we need some heavy shit. Pantera? Metallica?

    Some really heavy? Periphery.

  • @ESP4thaWin Sorry, I cannot demonstrate sounds that fit music that I'm not able to play. I am sure you can do heavy stuff with the unit, but not me because I almost never listen to this kind of music. I'm more into improvisation. Did you see my new Axe-Fx-movie? I posted it as response...

  • @HotImprovisor Wise answer!

You're doing amazing, and I will check your new video out right away :D

  • @ESP4thaWin if you want to hear heavy and into periphery, i know for a fact that after the burial uses axe fx.

  • @SASchertz

    Thanks alot m8 :)

  • @ESP4thaWin Periphery uses this model when they play live haha

  • will it mess with the tone if I play this to an orange rocker 100 to a 412 or would I be better off playing it through a PA system?

  • @ESP4thaWin

After the Burials latest record was tracked with this device. Go listen to "Your troubles will cease and fortune will smile upon you". Really fucking heavy shit

  • Sounds a lot like Allan Holdsworth in the first demonstration with the yellow ibanez look-alike. Great demo of this! I'm thinking about going for this rather than a head now. This thing is awesome.

  • The tapping he keeps doing on his thigh is really shitting me...

  • OMG. Its James May on the guitar!

  • Well done Peter! Thank you very much

  • Nice job! Although you look like the nutty scientist in Independence Day.

  • are you using a head with that? do you need one? I am looking into this and since the price is pretty high it would be nice to not have to buy a new head as well. also, what volume pedal are you using?

  • @beelzybub666 It is a a head itself. Get a 50 watts power amp and connect it live with the PA system you don't even need to carry a Cab. But if you still want the cab just buy a speaker cab and use it with this. This is not just a beyond amazing amp modeler but also a great effects processor and a great amp head :) Enjoy it.

  • Terrifying eye contact

  • This is the best axe fx demonstration I've seen. I'm sold- the tone diversity+quality is unparalleled. All I've been hearing are prog / metal videos so I couldnt get a good read. Thanks!

  • @ShredMiyagi Thanks! You might want to check out my new Axe-Fx-Demo (still in German, I'm working on the English version). But I'm not talking when I'm showing how it sounds...

Search for "Axe-Fx & MFC101 Demo 2010 von Peter Autschbach"

  • Your glasses match your gutiar perfectly! :)

  • @1:31 that is such a good sound.

  • 2:35 please please tell me that song :) I want to learn NOWWWW :D

  • @leehamX3 This is the ending of my guitar instrumental "Fairy Tale" which I usually play in the key of E, here it's in Eb. Search for my last name and "Fairy Tale" and you can see three versions (all in the key of E). The score and Tab can be found in the book "On Stage".

  • 2:20 allan holdsworth - devil take the hindmost!! please tell me where you got the notes from !

  • @5amuu

I figured it out by ear...

  • @HotImprovisor damn, can you share the chords with me please? :)

  • Is it possible to connect external controllers as you can with Logic Studio from Apple? In Mainstage you can control various parameters inside the computer using an outboard keyboard. This would make live use very easy.

  • i dont know if its just the fx but the cleans got way to much fuzz

  • IS the Ultra controlable via footswitch?....can you switch betweene patches via footswitch?.....Great vid.

  • I haven't had gear lust for a very long time, but bloody hell I have it now. This is the most amazing guitar effects processor I've heard since hearing an Eventide H3000 for the first time.

  • this effect is god damn expensive but the best multi in the whole world, line 6,digitech, and other shits can go to the trash

  • and some joe pass?

  • loved the swell you played was taht holdsworth?

  • Love the Holdsworth songs you played

  • Whatare you running for a power amp?

  • must you own a power amp if you wanna use the processor?

  • That's an excellet review! You should do more of these, it's far more comprehensive look over than anything I've seen recently! Thanks!

  • @guitarinsteve check back soon, there's more to come in october. With a description of the new fractal board MFC 101.

  • @HotImprovisor where do i find one of these man sounds excelent

  • @guitarinsteve You should go fuck yourself

  • what was that you played at the 1:25 with the volume swells?

  • @cbastriani These are some chords that I use in my song "P's Tune". With open strings. People keep asking, so here's what it is (frets from low to high): 0 11 11 11 12 11, 099 9 10 9, x06600, x04504, 4x4302, 2x4302, 7x7600, 7x7544, 0 11 11 11 12 11. x means muted string. Have fun!

  • A sham you didnt show the sound direct with the on board simulations...

  • @smartti1970 I posted another video with cabinet simulations. Search for Autschbach and Atomic.

  • Can i connect it to my fender frontman r25 and play trough it?

  • hey i wanna ask a question to everyone... PLEEEEASE answer.

so... in order to use this thing, all you need is a speaker cabinet, a guitar, and this preamp unit?
