I am a wrestling fan as much as anyone. The reason that people tapped out from the CC was because it was in the script. There is no way if Benoit faced Lesnar in a real fight that Benoit would win. The thing that I didn't like about how Benoit did the CC was because you could easily tell that his opponent's arm wasn't really trapped between his legs. At any moment the opponent could move his arm. It is also easy to break out of the CC. You just have to swing your whole body in front of you

And the reason being that the Crippler Crossface is way to easy to escape from in a realistic situation where as the LeBell lock is done from an omoplata position which makes it incredibly difficult to get out of.

One person notable for using the Crossface is Samoa Joe. It is usually preceded by him hitting a pinning powerbomb, then using the opponent's momentum of kicking out of the pin to turn him over into an STF.

Should the opponent look close to crawling forward to reach the ropes, Joe switches over to the crossface, wrenching back the upper body and pulling the opponent away from the ropes.

However, when it comes to the Crossface itself, no one has done and still dosen't do it better than Benoit.
