the best live from DM, 1988, from "music for the masses"
the final when the Rose bowl is enlightened, with 70,000 people moving hands in the air...nobody can imagine he felt when he offers himself to the crow...
I lived it in Nimes 3 years ago in the Arena, that was incredible
Best pop wave band of the 80's ,,British bands had a huge success in America at that time ,,except Madonna ,M,jackson and Janet ,,no american artist would do such in europe
Vince left depeche mode in early 1982 and formed Yazoo with Alison Mioyet ,,then left her to form Erasure with Andy Bell ! Alison carried a successful solo career! Alan wilder was the new member after Vince left the band
lol dorks this son IS about drugs every DM fan knows it, the lyrics are obvious, " we're flying high" " takin me where I want to be" " hope he never lets me down again" see. drugs, high, never goin down after a shot?
The turning point in DM's history! Not just this concert but this song. The camera work with Dave and the crowd lighted in the background..goosebump material !!
actually Socalkeri, this was thier final song of the night, before thier 2 encores, its on the album 101, thier opening song of the night was Strangelove. I was there as well on the ground just 12 rows back center stage, and it was indeed a spectacular event, this was my very first concert ever, and what a perfect one to make my first.
This was their opening song that night... opening acts were Thomas Dolby; Wire; OMD & Petshop Boys. A KROQ Concert ALL DAY. My friends and I were only 18 and in the 9th row -- paid a fortune for the tickets from a broker; but TOTALLY worth it!
pet shop boys didn't play. wire, omd and thomas dolby did. omd had some sound problems. i have the whole show and whole kroq radio show(my friend taped it) on dvd/cd.
This is going to sound awfully cheesy, but Dave is such a gorgeous man that it's hypnotizing to watch him move around like that...especially at 01:09...Wow!
the last two minutes give me chills every time

Depeche Mode...Jesus Christ they are so amazing.
Once you listen to any one of there songs your completely addicted.
They are just as good, if not better than Pink Floyd, The Cure.
And all the crappy music that comes out today

can someone tell me I lost track of this group did Alan Wilder die or just left the group in the early 90's
5916michelangelo 3 years ago
he left the group in the early 90's, that's correct. He made up a new band called "Yazoo" which still excists nowadays.
Blacksinner92 3 years ago
Noway. Vince Clark founded Yazoo in the early 80s but it only worked out for about 2 years.
Alan left 1995 after two years of hard touring and a band in which every member had his own problems. His solo project is called "Recoil".
