Hi there, great video, love watching the old rallying. At 4.50 there is a black civic, I now own this car and was wondering when and where this was taken from, and maybe did u know who was driving it or at least see the door number..??
@tinyzukimonster970 You preach to the choir, and defend those who are driving over their heads. The top 10% of drivers, with the best navigators, can "usually" get away with sliding most of the corners and put it to their advantage. For the rest: They would be better served to maintain complete control at all times and never have a bad moment in a stage. One sideways, nose into the berm corner cancels out ten done perfectly. Two? No amount of bravado or luck can make that time back.
Never ceases to amaze me at the amateur level of driving displayed by some rallye drivers. It seems that way too many are hung up on breaking rear traction to rotate a car, even in wet or low-grip situations. And then they go backwards, spin, point the nose to the inside berm, or lose a tone of time fishtailing instead of accelerating. The trottle is used digitally? Ummm, that is why the car is not responding well to inputs. Take a driver's school. This is for time, not for show.
@125AXer Do you have any idea on how to compete in RALLYING!? your logic and simple minded view is misguided and ill-informed. Some of the drivers shown ARE amateurs competing on a low budget without all the trick wizardry of modern machines. Breaking rear traction is sometimes needed to slow the car down to brake as late as you can and to set up the car to go round the corner to apply maximum throttle as early as possible. A lot of the mistakes shown are from drivers misreading the amount......
@125AXer ......of grip on the corner, this may be from change in weather or gravel or mud dragged onto the road or mis-formed notes or not called by the co-driver, sometimes it may just be a missed braking point. Also with regard to the fishtailing yes a little over-enthusiasm by the driver in some cases wanting to get a move on. However sometimes the engine is too lairy, some of the Millingtons & BD's are too revvy so need a lot of throttle to get high in the revs to get power.....
@125AXer then lifting off creates lift off oversteer, combine this with a wet road and you have a difficult car to drive. Might I suggest a trip in a RWD rally car driven by a quick driver. Then you will see what I mean!
@125AXer prpobably because the rallying in ireland is classed as an "amature" sport, even though our top drivers are able to mix it with the wrc drivers ie eugene donnelly had gronholm on his toes in galway in 07 i think it was.. most of the lads in the video are clubmen out for a days fun.....
i suppose you have won several rallieshave you???? or maybe your just someone who knows everything but does nothing
