  • this laptop is from 1980,

  • This laptop is super durable. I spilled milk on it, exposed it to sunlight, gently slammed it on the floor, and it's still fully functioning with all diagnostic reporting no errors!

  • Dell makes hideous laptops and this is a prime example.

  • @gatewaysolo104

This classic design is better than the typical bullshit latchless designs you see with entertainment notebooks.

  • yo this laptop worth 100 bucks

  • Stop talking shit.

  • it's the noisiest laptop that I have had ever. I have had 2 Dell Latitude and one macbook pro 17". I don't recommend this laptop

  • Cool so that's where all the hot air goes out

  • Just don't understand why it's so expensive, compared to Vostro.

  • @macouco

Vostro is the cheapest business brand of Dell laptops!

  • what do you say about 3:28 into the video. Vista 64 bit? its all about xp my friend.

  • Thanks magma80! After reviewing the M4400, I decided to sell it on eBay. The reason was that it was very heavy and the performance under Windows Vista x64 wasn't very impressive. So now I'm on a MacBook. :-)

  • That's funny, me and my girlfriend just did the exact opposite. M4400 is way faster, especially with the SSD being a faster newer one. Screen is obviously better on the Dell too.

  • nice review. Please share your day-to-day exp of using it. How does it rate compared to your prev notebooks?

  • When I was using it the M4400 felt rock-solid but it was very heavy. The extra-capacity battery sticks out in the back. The LCD was very nice: matte and 1920 x 1200 on a 15.4-inch. Brightness was great since this model used two CCFLs. The best option would be to get the RGB LED backlight model. The keyboard was pretty good but I didn't like the trackpad that much, especially the three-button layout. For some reason I felt Windows wasn't responding as quickly as a 2.8GHz C2D w/4GB machine should.
