@truth2748 The video focuses on the dietary aspect of veganism. For the record, the maker doesn't believe in harming animals in any way, for clothing, scientific experimentation, mistreatment in zoos, etc. Owns a bug-vac to suck up household bugs and place them safely outside.
@feelskeeroo Good for you. Next time, just call it a plant base diet video, unless you are going to talk about Veganism. Images of food do not equal Veganism.
@truth2748 The idea was to promote veganism as a superior religion by playing off the lyrics "a new religion" in the song "Black Velvet". "Veganism, if you please" works better than "plant-based diet, if you please". This video does help promote veganism, even if it doesn't include everything that word represents. It's a music video, not an encyclopedia entry.
@feelskeeroo Although Veganism was based on a nontheistic Indian religion, it is not a religion but a philosophy. This video does help promote the Western fad that is understood as Veganism, and not what the founding father of Veganism had in mind. Unfortunately too many Vegans don't know what Veganism really stands for, and selling then a food version of it is more misguiding.
@truth2748 The word religion can apply to any set of principles one lives by (theistic or otherwise), and veganism is certainly a religion by that definition. It's not a fad for those who stick to the vegan diet. That diet might lead them to the deeper understanding you're referring to. Maybe you should rework the lyrics to include the other aspects. Personally i like it the way it is, especially the line "a kool religion that will keep you healthy."
@feelskeeroo Veganism allows independent thinking, therefore this is NOT a religion. You can not change or dictate its principals to suit your personal choices, nor can you highjack its true meaning. The diet is only a trait of the praxis of avoiding animal exploitation and speciecism from our lives, and this IS Veganism; not your images.
@truth2748 Vegans are perceived by most as annoying people, and two vegans arguing just takes that to even greater heights and doesn't help the cause. Do something to help the cause, not get petty about definitions. This video is someone trying something to help promote a good thing, not a definition of a word. People can go to wikipedia for the definition of veganism. If you're not happy with THAT definition, you can alter it. As for THIS video, it STANDS as is.

The creator decided to name this video Veganism, yet he chose to show images of food-I have to question his knowledge of Veganism.
