  • this movie make me proud because I`m from Romania:d

  • This is the guy who would later play Jim Gordon.

  • I love how his armor looks like human muscles, giving him the appearance of a frightening, skinless monstrosity in battle.

  • Im not turk but i hate videos like this who got lots of propoganda in it. When Turks conquerd Constantinople they lowerd the taxes and all. The Byzantines had so damn high taxes people we're living in the streets

  • Elizabeta

  • One of the most brilliant prologues ever. This knight is cold. Genius.

  • I LOVE this movie ♥

  • intro reminds me of lord of the rings

  • What made Oldman's performance so great was just how invested he was in the role: He wasn't "portraying" Prince Vlad, he WAS Prince Vlad! That he, (w/his beard & hair grown out) looked very much like the historical Vlad Dracula, was icing on the cake! Christopher Lee himself, was said to be impressed by Oldman's performance!

  • that armor is badass!

  • Dracula is a Romanian hero that all orthodox christians love.

  • This, The Crow, and STAR WARS NEW HOPE have the best intros...

  • someone please tell me the name of this music

  • The part where he renounces christ, punches the priests, swears allegiance to darkness, and stabs the cross and blood starts pouring out of it is the most epic part.

  • Vlad dracul Tepes Executor de Turci =)))))

  • Why do people call this movie bad , Its freakin gorgeous , a classic , i bet most of you watch twilight or whaever the fuck your watching and dont feel the vibe of this movie . Wich makes me believe that most hater comments are done by 15-20 year old people . If you would have seen the movie for the first time in 1992 you would have fallen in love with it and its fleur . What im pointing here is that almost everymovie has its glory days and some manage to remain in history like this one

  • @snoopeZayko I was just 13 when i first saw this movie, i've loved it since. and i agree, twilight will never come close to the beauty of this movie. im 15 now, and still watch it at least 3 times a month

  • Fuck muslims 1:58 jajajaja

  • Read the book - Was bored. Watched the movie - Was more bored...

I´ll never understand why people find this story so interesting...

  • @SuperJuliusC

Than I feel sorry for you. I took the liberty to look at your channel. It's understandable that you have been dulled by pop culture, like wrestling, unable to enjoy subtitle and decent acting or a story of a monster and a hero at the same time. You won't see big explosions in this movie, nor in the book.

You belong to the same line of people that think John Carpenters The Thing is boring and I feel truly sorry for you, that you can't enjoy this art.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Well first of all: What exactly has "Dracula" storywise to do with "The thing"?!

And by the way: In the novel Dracula is at no time a mixture between good and evil - You should check your facts.

I disliked the book because it was horribly written - There a many books with "boring" stories but they are written in amazing ways so you really enjoy reading them (Mann, Kafka, Goethe, Hemingway...).

And by the way: Movie critics all over the world said that this movie was bad...

  • @SuperJuliusC

"And by the way: Movie critics all over the world said that this movie was bad..."

First of, no they didn't, and secondly, movie critics know nothing. These are the people that felt Avatar was good movie. You want a boring movie, go watch Avatar. Movie critics loved Avatar. The point is what movie critics think doesn't mean a thing.

  • @SuperJuliusC

"I disliked the book because it was horribly written"

Dracula is written as an epistolary novel so comparing it with Kafka or Goethe or Hemingway on the basis of how it was written is just dull. Furthermore, I'm equally appalled that you refer to those stories as boring as well.

  • @SuperJuliusC

I never said Dracula was good in the book, you should learn to read comments before telling people to check facts...

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH And you should answer my questions:

What has "Dracula" storywise to do with "The thing"?

Back to the movie: There has to be a reason why this piece of work is called a "bad movie" by critics all over the world and "Nosferatu" is called a piece of art...

Coppola tried to make an abstract movie out of o a novel which wasn`t by any meanings abstract...

But: If you like this movie it is your business - I liked "Dune" and "1492" and nobody can understand that...

  • @SuperJuliusC I love Dune, david lynch, not the remake. Most people I show that movie to dislike it or become bored instantly. Either way it's opinion that Brom Strokers isn't good but Nosferatu is dated and I can't say it will peak most peoples interest like this movie can. Nosferatu was great but movie but cannot be compared to horror during this time period. 1492 is awesome, people don't like it? They are missing out. Movie critics are laughable, they need to stay in the museum.

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH I agree with you SSTT people hate on amazing movies, such as brom strokers. I have never heard someone bash on "The Thing" That's pretty sad, that might be one of the best movies ever made. Plus if you want to compare vampire movies to this well good luck. Not much in the vampire genre worth watching. I think the only mistake in this movie was having Keanu Reeves. His role should've been played by a better actor during that time. Otherwise this is a horror gem.

  • @SuperJuliusC

I think it has something to do with the Bela Lugosi and Hammer films that made Dracula so popular and the Vampire mythos in general.

  • where's Batman...he should of taken the blame in order that Dracula dosen't become a vampire and that

  • Gary oldman is such a beast.

  • One of the best movie-intros which i have ever seen...

  • did this flm make dracula more like a tragic hero

  • @ryananderson280195 Yes, or maybe more like a villain many people could easily empathize with.

  • Oldman is like the De Niro of the new generation

  • @savageFTW I don't remember De Niro doing horror until the late 90's.

If anything De Niro is the Oldman of the 'new generation'.

  • this one of the only films iut there to actually scare me

  • really his armor is in GW.

  • 2:00 LOL! hahahahahaha poor thing

  • He was impaled......

  • Elizabetha....

  • His armor is in Guild Wars.

  • His helmet is badass

  • his armor that gary wears in this is great.

  • Does anybody know what are they talking in Romanian, I mean the speeches written in Romanian? I just love this movie, it is the best I have ever watched. I think the movie was even better than the book. Gary Oldman is The Draculea!!

    My best regards

  • AH I WANNA KNOW AS WELL!!!!!!

  • oldman made reeves whom i like overall look like a high school actor...oldman is supernatural as an actor the fucking best..

  • This movie rocks!

  • Rednas Wild imo!

  • LONG LIVE VLAD TEPES!

  • lol a monkey rapes the girl (dracula) in the movie

  • Well it's actually a wolf.....

  • wish it were depp instead of neo.

  • long live the turks!!

  • Overall, I think this movie has one of the best intros. And my most favorite Dracula movie version to date.

  • Totally agree.

  • La armadura de lobo que utiliza Gary Oldman me parece fantastica. Se que la diseño un japones y tengo una fotito pequeña de esta.

Si pudiera, me la mandaria hacer.

  • i utterly love this clip THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!! yay!!

  • k b l in a few parts

  • @UTubeJunkie1234 haha you fool vlad fought against ottomans but the vvestern christians let him dovvn like others e.g. skanderbeg and at the end his head vvas in istanbul. Its all about politician not religion. Religion can only give you motivation and hate in a vvar besides im turkish and i knovv hovv religion can manipulate you

  • @britishbulldog100 While Tepes may have been betrayed what UTubeJunkie said is still valid. The West does need a new Vlad Tepes do deal with the current muslim invasion.

  • @teufeldritch Please think of the current world situation. There are secret powers behind all governments in any states. They are playing off minorities against each other like in germany where i am from. People with average salaries are agitated against people with lower income who are working for less money and cut the vacancies. Those with lower income are agitated against unemployed people because they are complaining that they have to work and the others are at home. Those unemployed people

  • then are agitated against foreigners because they are blaming(e.g. muslims) that the foreigners are too many and that they shoudnt get welfare like the native people. Of course islamists groups were supported by many politician to keep up the "current danger" in their state. Look at Greece. Their capitalist government has ruined the life in greece. Nobody in Greece is talking about to take back Turkey because their own people robbed them. Its just a game jews vs muslims, christians vs muslims

  • @britishbulldog100 There is truth to that but it's mostly a awful lot of ppl who aren't muslim are sick & tired of muslims/islam. Ppl are tired of the violence, the lies, the screaming false outrage, the way they treat women...everything about muslims & islam. Non-muslims are just fucking sick & tired of it all & some of them are waking up to reality & getting very angry. Which is GOOD!! More ppl need to realise that it's islam vs the world because islam seeks world domination.

  • @teufeldritch i know what you mean thats why stand for a secular turkey not a religous one. And think of that if you could kill every muslim in the world. Who will be the next group? the jews again (like hitler told that they wanna infiltrate the world) or asian people or all communists or just hindu? Every nation needs some "danger" like i said to have some trouble for the mid classes

  • @britishbulldog100 Your comment should be the top rated comment on this video!

  • @Luvie1980 which one why that?)

  • @britishbulldog100 "Religion can manipulate you". Because it is so true and people need to realise that instead of being lead by fear and hatred.

  • @UTubeJunkie1234

By becoming as evil and religiously fanatic, plunging the world into another dark age?

  • 609 16 2775

  • Oldman and Hopkings were both brilliant as usual.

Ryder lends beauty and passion. Keanu Reeves was well,

Reevelike, with what sounds like a British accent

honed a few minutes before filming. And a sense

of the time and place, that was 100 years and 4000

miles off. Nice try Keanu. Better luck next time. Again.

    Overall, an entertaining movie.
