@NazTb0y That's because for the VHS version, they cut the scene out. I guess they figured in order for the joke to work, you had to actually be in a movie theater. So they replaced it with a scene of gremlins taking over the TV set, and getting shot down by stock footage of John Wayne.  Personally, I think the Hulk Hogan version is WAY funnier.

@ShawnRavenfire well, I personally like them both. I think the VHS thing is at least just as funny. I remember watching it as a kid--without any knowledge of the cinema version, mind you--and thinking, "hey, what the f*ck?!" when the screen went all staticy and figured it was my TV; then the gremlin-silhouettes showed up, and I nearly pissed myself laughing. Also, I thought working the Gremlins into all those classic movies, John Wane included, was hysterical--at least as clever as the hulkster
