  • Great car Bernie, let me know if you ever want to sell her, cheers

  • Hahaha He looks like Mr. Lahey from the trailer park boys! :p

  • @MrKalabama Oh beauty, eh!

  • @4spdBernie hahaha yep! :P

  • why do you blip the throttle between shifts?

  • @outdoorsman310 So as not to scatter somthing in the ancient ol' driveline. I learned it from a fella named McQueen...

  • @4spdBernie Yeah, MAYBE on downshifts, not on upshifts.

  • You need to polish those wheels, bumpers, and repaint the fucker before you "show" it.

  • @MangoSmoothie16 Well, I'm into drivin' over showin'. It is undergoing a full resto, btw...

  • @4spdBernie I'm all for driving it over showing it too but I didnt understand why the headlight crack was a big deal for show lol Its a sweet car nonetheless.

  • @MangoSmoothie16 I was making a joke - too many people are way too seroius when it comes to shwing, lost points, trophies, etc. .

  • you shouldnt rev the piss out of it right after you start it cold have a little respect for that engine buddy

  • we missed out on most of these beauties in Aussie.

  • I had one in dark blue, bought in 1970 right out of high school.

It would snap your neck in all four gears. Premium gas at 26 cents a gallon. :-)

    Memories!!!

  • @6155510 I remember those days! I'd wait and see which of the 3 corner gas stations would be cheapest - they'd battle out prices @ 23.9, 24.9, 25.9...

  • CANT WAIT FOR MINE

  • Minivan!!!

  • @Dahavalan Gotta watch out for those...

  • im 16 teen and my dad and I own a 1966 ford fairlane GT 390 4spd hardtop, i want it so bad it needs a minor restoration but i really cant wait to get it!

  • i like 67 nice car

  • 335 horse

  • Always thought the 66-67 Fairlanes were the best looking muscle cars of that era; got to drive a '67 with a newer 428 and c6 automatic and it flat out scared the hell out of me!

  • Great car! I love to own one. And I will! Hi from the Netherlands

  • @mercurymarauder Hello...and thank you! Good luck with the search!

  • had a 66 comet ,pretty much the same car...the 390 is rated at 335 hp

  • I want a Ford Falcon! Thanks 4spdBernie for posting this video!

  • That's a workin' man's hot rod!

  • @tomsvinylreview Hello, You hit da nail right on da head! Was and still is!!

  • Those are NOT Appiance mags... They are American racing mags... I know.. I usta make them...

  • @izzynutz2000 Hello and thank you for the info - I always welcome a history update - thanks again! Good times...

  • Bet your very proud of her. Great car. Love those Fairlanes. I have a 66 390 C6 automatic myself. Bulding a 460 for her now. If you rebuild the 390 make sure you improve (lineup with bearings) the oil holes in the block and oil pickup area. The 390 loves roller rockers and replace intake with an Edelbrock medium riser dual plane.

  • I suppose you could replace then with better ones. Come on Bern... spend a little cash... lol. Great car and videos though!

  • NICE RIDE!! I have a '67 T-bird with a 390. More of a cruiser though. I don't think mine is broken in yet, only 46,000 miles. I'll have to get a vid up! Again, great car!

  • Thank you - and let's see that T-bird!

  • You don't need to stab the gas inbetween gears like it's a model T.

  • I hear ya, but Model T won't scatter u-joints.

  • @4spdBernie Model T's didn't have gas pedals anyway.

  • Another great vid and thanks for sharing.....390's were/are great motors

  • Hello and thank you for the note!

  • Great vid, love the car.

  • hey by the way I have a 1979 bronco , umm how do you think a 390 would do powering it? I'm pulling the stock 351m cuz I don't like it, I'm being told go with a 460 but am having a bit of trouble finding a good one, I have a 390 available to slap in after doing a bit of work and the bronco will be doing a good amount of highway driving, thanks

  • Big motor + short wheelbase = F-U-N! Just be sure you have a stout roll cage!

  • you are having way to much fun lol I love your car it's gorgeous

  • Hello and thank you - gotta have fun!

  • loved the videos of the old cars ...keep it up :-)

  • Hello & thank you for the kind note. More vids comin', but dammit, work keeps gettin' in the way...

  • lol you welcome nice car they dont make em like they use to

  • what gear you have in sounds like its in third gear

  • Hello, Very bad exhaust system. Sounds like 3rd gear in every gear! Thank you for the note.

  • freaking awsome !

  • YES!! A big motor Fairlane or Cyclone with 4 speed are way 2 much fun!!

  • That's how an enthusiast looks like! Not burning rubber, not overreving, not killing the engine ... just enjoying that it runs well :)

  • I love Fairlanes can't find stuff like that anymore great condition too...Also love the Stooge plates on the front.

  • Great cars! Thank you for the note. They're still out there - just have to keep lookin' a little harder maybe - watch for my '64 Cyclone vid - coming soon...

  • I got a 67 similar to this, but why in the hell does he pedal the gas? I have never had to do it to shift smoothly. Nice car though.

  • Thanks for the note. As to why I blip the pedal - 'cause I don't fancy busted gears. BTW, ck out the world-famous Mr. Steve McQueen and the Bullitt chase scene - throttle blippin' galore...

    Have fun out there!

  • im jealous hope to have mine runnin soon

  • im jealous hope to have mine runnin soon

  • I have it on good authority that very soon we are going to see a 4dr breezeway four speed Marauder make a run through the gears. 4spd 4dr breezeway Marauder. I love how you could just check the boxes in the good old days and get pretty much what you wanted. It certainly is not that way now!

  • Very very nice car!! Wish I had it! Or an identical '66 Galaxie!

  • We had to sell it last month because I lost my job. It sold quickly (thank god). I hope to find another or a sweet '66 like you have. Original cars are the BEST! Thanks for posting and God Bless!

  • Very nice 66 by the way. One of my first cars was a 66 and it had a 390. Let me know if you want to see this one.

  • Hello! Yes, by all means, let's see that '66!

  • sorry, I ment to say "Let me know if you want to SELL it"!!

  • Last year we would take our '65 Comet Cyclone original white 4 speed car to the local cruise in. Had a new drivetrain but the paint was all faded and the interior was a little rough. I put a set of 15" magnums on it with nice tires and that car would draw a bigger crowd than some of the big money cars. We loved it and so did a lot of other people. You're right when you say they are only original once.

  • Yes, originals are a lotta fun - and you never have to worry about gettin' a rock chip...

Hope you keep enjoyin' that Cyclone - that's a very cool car you have!

  • You've got a great set of videos! I'm very much a Pontiac fan, but would love to hear this FairlaneGT with the new pipes! Rock on Bernie

  • I would leave it exactly as is and just drive the hell out of it.

  • Now that sure were some enjoyable minutes watching this video. Nice Ford, keep that baby running for years to come. Thanks.

  • You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed. It sounds better now with the new exhaust...

  • Very nice : ) I love my '66 500, even though it only has a 302. I only found one 390 car for sale within 500 miles of me, and it was a 4-door : (

  • Just saw one of these sittin in a garage here in Chicago. Same car, 390GT factory 4 speed even wearing an old set of cragar s/s wrapped in bias plys !!!

  • I suspect quite a few of these were driven a quarter mile at a time, and embarrassed a few 289 Mustangs along the way. I really like how they basically are a baby Galaxie.

  • Thanks for posting this great vid, i have one of these in Australia and am looking to start the resto after new years. please post any update vids i'll be sure to check them out.

  • fantastic car!!!!!!!

  • Hello and thank you. Pleased you enjoyed the vid.

  • my grandma had a 66 fairlane gt blue and my grandpa had a red one. my dad use to take me for a run through the gears and a couldnt lean forward when he would get on it.lol thanks for the great video.

  • Hello,

Great bit about not being able to lean forward when gettin' on it!

  • Ok Eric, We can't take it any more, where's the tri power 4 speed catalina video?

  • Hey sorry, Rob!

    Soon...very soon...

  • Now Rob! See my other vids

  • Nice car, I wish I had one like this to!

  • Thank you. It's a lotta fun.

  • 2:34 "Just what you wanted, some bacon strips in your driveway!"

  • Mmm bacon strips. Love the smell, eh - don't we all? You know, Alex, you can always depend me to deliver a fresh order of bacon strips.

  • Eric, VERY sweet car! It's no 421 Pontiac though...

  • Cool old Ford, thanks. Yeah...I know... it's no Pontiac 421.
