@itsabird i disagree the show is actually incredibly well versed in techniques, obviously it caters more towards the brawler ippo style and living off your heart instead of head which is usually never a good idea, on the other hand will can almost always overcome skill. its a mixed bag, but that generalization is unfair imo.

@ShitWrangler it's got some basic tidbits on history and how certain boxers fought, but it's not good stress on the fundamentals on the lower level and then subtleties on the higher level. it tells you you gotta be fast, coordinated and in shape, but that's not really something you have to be a trainer to realize. hearing stuff like the dempsey roll and the hitman style looks like they just watched a few espn classics and put together a show. either way the protagonist relates to most geeks.

I have to disagree with you here. Ippo learns a total of 3 "special" techniques. One is an actual technique, one is an odd uppercut, and the last one is just a body blow to the liver. I felt the show stressed fundamentals in a way that many other shows don't. Ippo training every day, not just building his upper body but also focusing on his lower body and his stamina, alone makes this relatively accurate on how a boxer's time is spent.

Add in the importance of spacing and anticipation of an opponents moves, which many sports shows tend to lack, and you have a very solid boxing show.

i really like dhis video of urs because it is all about; 'Hajime no ippo' which Ippo makunochi is a very shy high school student who never had the time to make firends because he was always busy helping his mother run their family-own fishing busniess.. Because he kept to himself, a group of bullies led by Umezawa got into the habit of picking on him... on one particalar day these bullies decided to give him a rather serious beating, and that my firends were all started of Sport: Boxing! 4/4! :)
