  • I see that Harry Dean Stanton is billed as just Dean Stanton.

  • @StormChaser101AB Yeah, what was he doing back there? Taking a leak? Did you see the one soldier throw down his mess kit in disgust and anger, as they turned and gave the universal look of "Gods rot you, you S.O.B!" *laugh* --Dancougar82

  • Unfortunalty wars, WW2- The childrens crucade, are seldom fought by men like Eastwood or Wayne or Hanks. There fought by the youth of the generations. Highschool kids.

  • @greenpeices Clint Eastwood served in the military during the Korean War Era.

  • @gogoandywolf I did not know that. But i did say seldom, not never. Not all the GIs were under twenty.

  • @greenpeices I wasnt sayin you were wrong. Just infobit. Happy Holidays.

  • @gogoandywolf Happy Holidays to you too. I relish the opportunity to learn something new, esspecially about one of my favorite actor/directors.

  • This is a wake up call, heed it, adog666

  • Poor hungry Germans get splashed with Kelly's unnoticed AMERICAN jeep, in there own lines. XD

Also, anyone notice the German Hiding behind the gate Kelly smashes through? XD

  • Best Movie, intro & song EVER! :)

  • will someone please tell me how they got there without anynone notice their AMERICAN JEEP

  • @WolfPackAttack1911 Well it wouldn't be unusual for the Germans to use captured enemy vehicles, such as Jeeps, which I guess the Germans had.

Maybe the point is for you not to know how they got their.

  • @WolfPackAttack1911 Its was raining. The main light source was lightning. Soldiers wernt given flash lights yet. And the very idea of there being an American jeep in a German camp was crazy. This was before the Special Forces were created, let alone sneaking behind enemy lines.

  • I feel bad for that German who got run over

  • HALT (Engine Reving) HAAAAHHHHHHHL!

  • The German that spotted them disliked this.

  • how did Kelly capture the colonel? How did Kelly get in German lines? How was he in a willys jeep in a German camp undetected?

  • Telly Savalas+Clint Eastwood=EPIC WIN.

  • odd way to start a WW2 movie lol

  • As a former soldier you would be surprised how many time that ruses like this work. They are never planned but can save your arse if you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time and keep your mouth shut until you canbreak away.

  • il est vraiment gouffle kelly XD

  • lol i love how they all just walk by the jeep not noticing it XD

  • The one thing consistant for survival in the military (other than the obvious) is a sense of humor!!

  • i love this movie &my father too

  • you gotta have possitive waves and woof woof are my 2 favorite movie lines. odball is awsume

  • Definitely one of Eastwood's cooler moments, and that's saying a lot.

  • hey all, its a movie, Hollywood Fiction, "got it?" sheeeeee's

  • coolest start to a film ever only the man with no name could be cool enough to pull that of fantastic

  • Yes your are right! T34 see johms rayen.

in this fil the "Panther" are marder II

    it's Hoolywood , not realy! = )

    Bis dann, dann Kamerad!

  • ohh one thing those tiger tanks are not tiger tanks those ae t34s just made so they would look like tigers

  • the best film.[jimmy from ireland]

  • It's a tough call to decipher of which film has more reverence than the other be it "Where Eagles Dare" or " Kelly's Heroes" but I know when a film has Tiger Tanks, Eastwood in an American Uniform from start to finish, gold plunder to be sought after, and an amazing esoteric feature song as such be it this opening .................... I think I'd tip my hat to and have nothing but Positive Waves for "Kelly's Heroes" all day everyday!!

  • Clint Eastwood's a real babe in this movie. *Swoon*

  • Great example of a movie's title song that has nothing whatsoever to do with the subject of the film. Yet, it works, is damn catchy. A classic tune.

    Superb movie too!!!

  • @AngryOfMayfair listen to the lyrics closely - it has everything to do with the film!

  • @AngryOfMayfair yea u see all of those *burning bridges* oddball runs into with the negative waves from morartti

  • i meaned just maby they get soup but get water in it when he drived past

  • drived past some germens that just get food and he did so they nead take more

  • My EVER BEST FAVOURITE FILM!

  • Who cares if its improbable? Its still a great scene nevertheless, and sets up the improbable nature of the film beautifully. Its less of a war movie and much more of a heist film.

  • german forces were ordered to use captured jeeps because they were better than there own Kubelwagens wich were only 2 wheel drive

  • Probably most of those Germans were tired cold ect and it's raining they aint gonna give a damn about who's sitting in what jeep near them.

  • @cralford they are more like demoralised, tired and hungry... they dont take notice of the vichles they march by since they arent important to them

  • dude.. i let you go for the german officer uniform yeah... but kelly,s got a american helmet and a Tom green outfit... i know about captured vehicules since i was born but this is just a 70:s comedy moviei ve never seen it but i will

  • This movie may be a comedy, some of it may even be true but my family still does ok from something that came back from Germany in 1944

  • To "justme19591978". Yes, this movie has a lot more truth to it than I think most folks realize it does......It's also kind of ironic, how where the battle scene's were shot at in Croatia or Serbia. Really did become a violent kill or be killed battlefield 20 years later.

  • an American jeep driving around among the Wehrmacht? lol thats a funny movie.

  • The Wehrmacht did use captured allied vehicles. I've seen pics of T-34's. Char 1B's, Somua S35, British Universal Carriers, KV1's and other vehicles in German markings. What makes you think they wouldn't use any jeeps they manage to capture?

  • Yeah Germans used captured Willys, Shermans, and even small arms

  • @Airbornerock the stolen villys is during the battle of the bulge along with other vichles lige gmc and dodge. They never used shermans because only very few shermans got into the germans hands, they were ofte to destroyed or smashed plus their own tanks were better. About small arms, the germans often stole the american garand, since it was semi automatic even when they had the gewerh since they werent that wel made.

  • @Mortenhendriksen A year ago I would have argued with everything you said. I didn't know alot about WW2 history but thought I know it all, now I agree with everything you said and my comment should not have been sarcasm.

  • @jadefalconmk1 There is a Hungarian photo in the WW2 archives about a Stuart tank. That was transvered to the eastern front for the russians. Of course, made in USA. But russians left it in one piece but with immobile on the battlefield. Our soldiers repaired that and used well.

  • dang, this is a sad song, and of all the comments does anyone even talk about the song?

    i love this sonf tho

  • I like Doald Sutherland line about fixing the tank near the.

"Hey Baby I don't know how to fix them, I just drive them!"

  • yeah, oddball rocks

  • Forgot to list one of the powerhouse of the movie and the 1970s...Telly Savalas .

  • Lalo Schifrin wrote "Burning Bridges" song .

Mike Curb wrote the lyrics .

The Mike Curb congregation performed the song .

Lalo Schifrin also wrote the theme song to Mission Impossible , Mannix , Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and a number of Clint Eastwood movies . Hes written so many scores I cant even begin to remember them all . He is that good . No one has even come close to his acheivements in music for film yet hardly anyone knows this powerhouses name . Too bad...

  • Clint Eastwood--------No intro needed Carrol OCconner------All in the Family Donald Sutherland-----No intro needed Don Rickles----------T.V. and comedy Gavin MacLeod--------Love Boat & MTM Stuart Margolin--------Rockford Files and others Dean Stanton---------Alien and others Jeff Morris-----------Westerns Dick Balduzzi---------Westerns Len Lester------------Westerns Many of the rest went on to do other film and T.V. I just cant remember them . Sorry bout that .
  • You forgot Telly "Kojak" Savalas. He's since stopped breathing.

  • Is that a missprint? "Don Rickles?"

  • Uh...no. Don't you know who Don Rickles is? "What are you looking at, hockey puck?" The voice of Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story? A regular on Dean Martin's celebrity roasts? Served in the Navy during World War II? One of the most awesome actors and comics of all time?

And by the way, it's spelled "misprint."

  • ohhh..I thought all these years it was "Wrinkles"

  • Never saw it in writing, eh? Okay, you're forgiven. It is a rather unusual surname.

  • No, I did not..I remember his most from this movie and "C.P.O. Sharkey"

  • i guess i should've listened to my friends.

  • The song was written by Mike Curb, a music mogul and ex-Lt. Governor of California. One of my favorite tunes!

  • WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF

  • The crescent moon dog tag on the soldier at the start meant he was militiary policeman.

    Great film!

  • "That's my other dog imitatation"

    I LOVE IT!

  • best movie ever.

  • So far its the best quality video of the opening scenes I've seen posted so far but the sound is a bit lacking on this one. Great movie.

  • Spike who?

  • I love the part with the guys at the table getting splashed by the Jeep they're like "WTF man!?"

  • What a great opening to this good flick. Thanks again. :)

  • Wow, a girl that appreciates a good war movie. You rock!

  • thank you very much my friend! :)

  • You have to also remember the germans captured many jeeps. They had to be driven somewhere.

This is hollywood too so just roll with it. You can pick 99.9 percent of the movies out there apart.

  • Have you ever been in the army? in an uninhabited area, raining cats and dogs as it was, and in pitch darkness YOU DON'T SEE A F...ING THING. No flares, no thermal, no nightvision, remember? it was a hulk with no lights in the middle of a camp. Your brain just cannot process the information on having an enemy vehicle parked right in the middle of your ranks. It's against logic. Besides, that's this movie's point. CONFUSION. Everything is a mess, a few months after Normandy landfalls.

  • Very good points.

  • @Militechcommando

in complete agreement with your analysis of the operant psychology in this scenario(US Army 1980-91)

  • THE GREATEST ALL TIME OPENING OF A MOVIE,EVER.Just think of it.....

  • a great opening song to what is a good fun film

  • hey anyone else notice none of the germans fire a shot at them?

  • Hey, we won the war, Right!

  • doesnt have anything to do with who won or loss... cant rule it to shock cause too many german soldiers saw them yet no shots fired no alarm???? its never that easy

  • Exactly if you se a german car in the centrum of a german camp and a german officer in the car and no alarms then i think that no one notices a guy with a american helmet and jacket, specially when its dark outside. Well no one exept the first guard.

  • it wasnt a german car it was a us GI jeep with american markings

  • oh stupid me haha :)

But the rest is ok right? :P

  • Yeah, but the Germans actually used a lot of abandoned/captured jeeps on the western front so it's not that suprising no one noticed anything.

  • That far behind the German lines, I don't think any of the Germans would even slightly suspect that there are any G.I.'s around

  • Super Geile Musik.......

    Der Film ist einfach Spitze.....

    5 Sterne

  • Ganz deiner Meinung!

  • Can you tell me why I like this film and this music so much? I don't know, but it's great.

  • my alltime great soundtrack...cheers..

  • Great stuff! Thanks again for the opening credits to this movie. Take care and have a very Merry Christmas. :)

  • great movie im going to upload the whole thing probably tommorow
