Using the sheet is a smart idea! Not only were you able to catch it without hurting yourself or the badger, but you were able to scare it by spreading the sheet and appearing bigger. For me, that was the coolest part of the video - to see how the badger reacted in fear to something harmless. Again, very smart! I've watched this video ten times, observing the badger's behaviour. I don't really remember you being there so as to know how it all went down. We didn't just see a badger, and trespass on to someones property, and spend time catching a badger. We saw the badger out there a few times, we asked the farmer about it, and he was more that happy to let us remove it.
