My 1987 Camaro 2.8 is awesome. Surprising power and great gas mileage. Mine is a T-Top, which makes it an awesome cruiser. The engine note is awesome too.
lol camaro fan here, no hate just joke lol; i say bad headliner for a 2 and a half minute video lmao. people will skip by it like 0-60, almost 3 minute video? wtf is wrong with his car lol
2.8L V6's aren't bad motors. I had one, was shot to shit by the time I bought it. When fixed all key parts in/on motor it drove fine. Car was all round a piece of shit and so was the dude who had it prior. But still looking for another 2.8LV6. The buzzing sound's awesome =)
Congratulations, most all cars have headers, exhaust, and gears. You are the owner of a 5.0 chevy, one of the most underpowered v8s in recent history.
@kvnhmmd when these v-8 fucks talk shit, just gotta remember, any idiot can make a v-8 fast, but it takes a smart idiot to make a v-6 fast. i also have a 88 v6
@kvnhmmd shit, wish mine was that nice, bought mine for 780 and its a POS no muffler hood wont shut had to get a new starter floorboards rusted alternator went today brakes are goin too
@malkavin3 bullshit i got a 1997 trans am with an LT1 350 with an intake exhaust and stock gears and i would fucking murder your pos. see,EVERYONE can play the one up game ;)
I've got a 1988 2.8L 5spd Camaro also and I can't believe how fast it actually is, like yours. I can say that I test drove a 2.8L auto and it was slow as shit so the manual tranny makes such a big difference. I race people with v8's and my car holds up really well. Does your car still have the catalytic converter on it?
@MrRebel67 My dad has a 1984 2.8, go on my page to see the burnout he did in it, you can smoke the tyres real well, power aint great for a v6 but they werent designed for performance, that was left to the v8 models but the third gen were under powered anyway. My dad has 120 out of it and it just sat there, it gets to it pretty quickly tbh i was shocked for the size of the car it just keeps going round at the same pace
@elzaco29 to be honest, I picked up the car for $500, i think it had to be tuned some how, because I see some of the 305 TBI camaros pulling the same 0-60 time. But it is a 2.8 5 speed
The 2.8 V6 is very smooth, dependable and durable. With proper care you can get many miles out of them. My S10 had a 2.8 and I got great gas mileage and when I sold it it had 289,000 miles on it, burned no oil, and was running like a top! That was 2 years ago and the guy I sold it to is still driving it today.
we're considering getting one of these for my little brother, good thing it's not very fast for his first car. still looks good though. still no match for my VTEC power =P J30A1 for the win
Hey I was wondering does your speedometer go to 85 or 115 also what was the 0-60 time I can't make the speed through the video also I have a 1989 2.8l v6 auto and mine is not that fast at all right it used to do 0-60's in the 10second range now cause of a fuel leak in the line it doing 12 second 0-60's if you could answer my questions
@ferrari3696 the 0-60 time was approx 9 seconds. The speedo goes to 115. I think I only got the car to 95 however. I never tried to go faster. I have sold the car now
Yea the v6s normally did 0-60 in theory haha

Is that wheel spin I hear at 1:16? Would your car smoke tires? Could you do pretty good burnouts with it? Hows the power like in it?

how did you get your 2.8 to be that quick? i've got one and it seems to be lacking in power even for a little v6.
