Thanks for the video, I am very new to drums, I recently bought an old set of Pearl Forum drums and the snare sounded terrible, now it sounds amazing!!
es scheint ja sehr schwierig zu sein, das richtig zu machen, so viele videos wie es zum thema "tuning a drum" gibt. meine fresse. fragt eure lehrer und guckt euch nich irgendwelchen müll an...
@tisBenG Well, some people prefer that style of tuning and some don't. If you want a really nice "snap" from your snare wires, then yes you would want to tune the bottom head much higher than the top head.
i just tuned my snare drum with this same method and it sounds terrible, what can i do?

If your need good basic tuning advise, Google the drum tuning bible. Very solid advice for all drummers but tuning is personal and is a true art.

Another advice for all you drum head out there. Do not tap the skin with your drum key, you will damage the bearing edge (over time).

Then you do not know about tuning...sorry, bud.

@paistekid
why, because you think you'll damage the bearing edge and I don't...LOL, think about it!

@paistekid Weckl talked about this awhile ago. Solid advice since a metal drum key could dent your bearing edge if not struck with care.
