Gundam: People talking about their feelings for 90% of the time, occasionally breaking the routine by fighting. While I did like original and Gundam Z, they seemed to think: "Gee, Gundam Z was a great series! Let's do it again!" so they did, every goddamn time. (Save for G Gundam, but that's another story)

The mecha designs were great(seem to be influenced by tetsujin 28 to me, and if you don't know what that is, you're not a real mecha fan), good characters, interesting setting, etc. Then, at the very end of the show... they decide to rip off evangelion. With a bullshit, nonsensical ending that cheats the audience out of a proper send-off. and I've read all the theories. Sorry, it still makes no fucking sense to me. and I don't

Evangelion was a bunch of people brooding and acting emo. Big O was not meant to end there: There would have been a third season if the bastards at Bandai would only finance it. But the whole point of that sequence was to have Roger come to terms with his own Amnesia. Not to end it.

@Tsukasamacleod The protagonist wasn't being whiny. The protagonist was being believable. Shinji experienced quite a lot, and people never give him credit for it. The story was about him overcoming things, but the sad thing is, many people don't, especially when they're fourteen and have the weight of all of humanity placed on them. There was only one plot hole, which was Kaoru talking to the monoliths before he met them, and they patched it up later. Also, two things can have similar endings.

I may have been to harsh on Shinji earlier, after all, he went through similar stages of angst in comparison to both Tsukasa (My namesake) and Daisaku from Giant Robo. Still, Evangelion is vastly overrated. It started out fine, but just kept adding on more plot points to the point it became confusing (What the hell was Seele anyway? Never explained! That's what we call a plot hole) And then the story just shits itself inside out in the very end.
