Brilliant! Can't wait to try this tip. I'm always asked to make dresses for my nieces and I love to gather up the material for ruffles but like you said the thread always breaks or comes apart on me. Thanks so much for the great idea.
@angiestewart75 That's great! You go make those gathered dresses for your nieces! You got sewing power!!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video...you go girl!
Hi Niler...thanks for directing me to this video :-) Great tip!!! Now all I need is a sewing maching lol!!! Trust me...it's on my shopping list hahaha!!! When I do eventually get one...I'll be visiting your channel for more great tips!!! Thanks for sharing sweetie!!! Hugs Leanne :-)
@Luvleescrappin I'm glad you liked the tip. As far as sewing machines go, try Ebay. I have purchased 6 machines for my employees in the past. The machines are still going years later and I got them for a fraction of the cost than if I had purchased them new! Happy Sewing!
Very good! Thank you. I am happy that you used material and thread that we could see, and that the camera was in the right position! Excellent job! Make more tutorials please. :)
@tkdnut1 Thank you. I try to make videos with clarity because I want my audience to see clearly as they attempt to try the techniques. I will continue to make tutorials and I hope you keep watching! Thank you soooo much!
Oh my gosh! I just tried it right now and it's crazy how much easier it is than basting and gathering! Those snapping threads always have me on the verge of tears lol. Thank you so much for sharing this!!

Thanks so much Niler! For new inexperienced sewers, you are an angel sharing tips and knowledge .I have put off finishing a dress for my granddaughter because of the gathered skirt. Now I see how to do it, I can complete it and move on to the next project. Blessings to You!
@jlclkc Thank you for watching my channel. I know what it's like to have a project you started and stopped because of frustration or loss of interest. I am happy to hear that I could help you in rekindle that interest you had in your project. I'm sure your granddaughter will love the dress when you are done...Happy Sewing!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I'm going to add ruffles to 15 skirts (2 layers each) for a dance line, and this will save me so much time and effort. I just tried it, and it works great!
@KatyAliceCullen Thank you so much! You know...I'm always looking for short cuts when it come to sewing. I look forward to providing more in the future. Thanks for watching!
Okay, I'm almost finished my dress. I had no idea it was going to take me over 20 yards of fabric to make( I used a set of twin sheets) but I love it! It's strapless and floor length and it would've taken me a lot longer without your advice!
@diamondmine827 You go girl! I'm so proud of you...I knew you could do it! I'm glad my advice was helpful. That's the first of many fabulous garments you will turn out...keep up the good work. Send me a picture, I'd love to see it.
