  • What the MLS learned from the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers, and Vancouver Whitecaps is that for them to create an MLS team with a strong fanbase, the best course of action is to create a franchise based on an existing team. The Caps, Sounders, and Timbers were already USL Pro teams before they were made into MLS teams. And the lesson was not lost: the next MLS franchise will be based on NASL team Montreal Impact.

  • @MrGman2022 philadelphia laughs at you.

  • @UDRob I admit there are exceptions like Philly and Toronto, but Toronto had a minor league team in the area (Toronto Lynx) and Philly already had a strong supporters club (Sons of Ben) in place.

  • Why does Seattle have such a great supporters base? I mean numbers wise compared to everyone else in the MLS

  • @korahaplayas 1. We have a pretty awesome history in soccer. 2. We lost our basket ball team before the sounders started playing. 3. Big stadium to hold everyone.

  • @korahaplayas the NW has had soccer roots since the 70's. alot of my friends dads and grandfathers went to the matches then.
